The Teahouse, a Peaceful 2BR /2 BA Cottage, W/Sofa Bed.

The Teahouse is a completely refurbished, century-old cottage, located on a very quiet, dead-end street – NOT on the main highway! It's just a short and pleasant stroll to Main Street, downtown Waitsburg. The cottage has been tastefully decorated in a gentle Asian style, on a half acre private fenced lot surrounded by mature pine trees. Very private, very quiet, very cozy!
Visitors to wine country will find it especially convenient to return to this relaxing, comfy home after a day of tasting. Here you may refresh and relax, and then walk to the best bar in eastern Washington, dine at a great southern food restaurant, or simply cook up a meal in your own kitchen with supplies from the nearby farmers' market and fromagerie. Our guests also receive a complementary bottle of wine – good wine! – for each night of their stay.
Summer days in here in the valley are sunny and quite warm. Summer evenings in Waitsburg are glorious, warm and dry. The night sky is filled with stars and there are very few insects. Spring and fall are quite beautiful, with daytime temperatures climbing into the 70s and 80s, and cooler evenings (bring layers!). The Teahouse is convenient to Walla Walla, yet a world apart, with no traffic (and no traffic lights!). Waitsburg is pedestrian-friendly and authentic. This is small town America at its best – like a trip back in time.
Custom wine tasting events and guidance on local wineries and restaurants are available from the owners, who live across the street and are intimately connected with the region's food and wine purveyors. Outdoor recreational activities abound. Bird watching can be done from the comfort of your patio – Waitsburg is on a major migration path for dozens of species. From April through November there are wine events, rodeos, vintage car shows, theatre and music festivals and many other outdoor activities happening throughout the region. The area is a haven for bicycle riding, hiking, antiquing, rafting, skiing, fly fishing, golf and just about any outdoor activity you can name.
Waitsburg is also the only town in Washington with its own camel. We'll give you walking directions and a bag of carrots to take when you go visit Izzie - a kids' favorite and a real sweetheart. You will never meet a gentler camel. Bottom line – we love this place; we live here year-round, and we are absolutely certain you won't want to leave once you've stayed here.
Please check the comments that some of our early visitors have left. And don't hesitate to write us with your questions. If we can do anything to make your visit to wine country more enjoyable, we are happy to oblige!

The Teahouse Cottage is a perfect wine country getaway for one or two couples. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights over the Walla Walla Fall Release Weekend and couldn't be happier with our choice. Karen was easy to work with, thoughtful and very prompt in every which way. Staying in Waitsburg was peaceful and romantic. You have to drive around Walla Walla to taste wine anyway, so why not drive the 20 minutes to stay in Waitsburg? You get to escape the crowds and have a peaceful countryside retreat at the cottage. At night you can walk to jimgermanbar or Whoopemup Cafe for dinner. Thanks to Karen for everything!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

A group of four friends stayed at the Tea House and from the minute we opened the door, we were transported! The cottage is spacious and well appointed, the rooms are private and comfortable and we loved the short stroll to downtown and to Izzy the camel. We really preferred having the peaceful Waitsburg location of the Tea House to staying in Walla Walla and found the drive to wine tasting to be quick (20 min) and very scenic. I'd highly recommend the Tea House for a peaceful getaway!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you all for your kind words and for staying with us in Waitsburg! We love it when our guests have a fun and restful experience here! Come back soon! K and P

My wife and I stayed here for two nights a couple weeks ago. The home is nicely decorated and very clean. The location is great, very quiet and can walk a few blocks to the downtown restaurants. The yard is currently in the process of being landscaped and will be beautiful when complete. We greatly enjoyed our stay here and will stay again next time we visit the area.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

I am almost reluctant to write this as I feel like I’m in on a little secret and don’t want to find it booked every time I wish to return ~ which will be often. But my enthusiasm is getting the better of me and I just have to rave. We stayed at the Teahouse with some friends. It far exceeded our expectation in every way. It is thoroughly and tastefully appointed with all the amenities. We wanted for nothing. There were even bottles of wine in the house ~ ON the house. The only thing not provided are clothes. Don’t even pack, just go. Waitsburg was a sweet surprise. It has that old western town charm with these scrumptious, contemporary surprises. We ate at the Whoop ‘em Up for dinner and enjoyed shockingly sophisticated fare. The next evening, the very hip Jimgermanbar across the street. We got massages and visited a Fromagery where everything is done old world style ~ including the hospitality. I love Waitsburg. I love the Teahouse. I will be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Paul and I loved have you and Ben stay with us in the Teahouse... We really hope to see you back in the Burg again soon!! hugs!
