If you long to explore the real Sicily , then Villa Modica is the right place to start. Villa Modica is set in the warm and timeless landscape of south eastern Sicily, one of the beautiful and suggestive parts of the region, on the foot-hills of the enchanting town of Modica. From the Villa's private swimming pool, views extend over hills and valleys capped by the steeples of Baroque Modica - a UNESCO world heritage site, just a scant mile away. The garden, with its succulent fruit trees and the scent of jasmine, is a peaceful and picturesque setting for guests to enjoy the Sicilians' way of life. Dining by the pool, where there is a barbeque and furnished Gazebo, makes the perfect setting to enjoy the 'alfresco experince'.
The Villa's location offers total privacy to enjoy a relaxing holiday. So, if you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is the perfect choice. But, at the same time, the Villa is a strategic point: this part of Sicily has an abundance of art, archaeology, history, breathtaking scenery and of course wonderful food to offer. You will certainly be inspired by the brilliance and beauty of the town, by the stunning, secluded beaches, tranquil vineyards, ancient olive groves. And you can also explore Mount Etna, the greatest vulcano of Europe, Catania, a splendid city lying between Etna and the Ionian Sea, Syracuse, with its temples, its Greek Theatre and Roman Amphitheatre, and its Ear of Dionysius, Ragusa, with its traces of human settlements dating from as early as the 3rd millenium BC.
Or, if you prefer something really breathtaking, why not go to Agrigento and see the Valley of the Temples?
Anyway, the list of wonders that are waiting for you is too long to be written here.
But Villa Modica is a perfect choice even if you just decide to indulge your senses spending lazy afternoons, tasting excellent food or maybe re-creating a local original recipe in your own.
Secure parking is available for up to 6 cars. At Villa Modica we try hard to give you the best villa rental experience possible. After all, your vacation is extremely important - to both of us. The pool has access from three points in the garden. All access points have gates to keep young children outside of the pool area. Salt Water Pool..No more red eyes,no chlorine smell and gentle to the skin... Pool season starts April 1st till October 31st, from November 1st to March 31st the pool will be open on request with an extra charge of 200 Euros.

Our stay at Villa Modica was a memorable one! Thanks to the feeling of being at a home away from home. Giorgio along with his lovely wife were amazing! No words can describe their hospitality towards us and our 2 children. The Villa itself was spectacular, immense, spotless and had everything imaginable that was needed. Even a charger for my son's nintendo dsi, thanks a million for that one Giorgio, you were a lifesaver! ;) Nevertheless, although it was a short stay, it will not be our last visit. Along with the great memories we hold in our hearts while staying there, we have formed a wonderful friendship with Giorgio that hopefully will last a lifetime. Not to mention the friendship my daughter and his son started as well! Thank you once again our dear friends, and until the next time!!!!

"Here I have found my paradise"
"Here I have found my paradise"
We brought our entire family to Villa Modica for two weeks in July for a special celebration - our 70th Birthdays this year. The villa proved to be the ideal venue, spacious, well equipped, superbly situated and exactly as advertised. The pool and the weather were so good that the children would have been happy to stay there for the whole holiday! Three of us are amateur chefs, so the kitchen facilities were important, as was the bountiful produce in local shops and streets; the food was complemented by the wonderful Nero d'Avola and the shopkeepers were ready to give expert advice in a friendly manner. Modica town is a dream for lovers of the italian ( no, Sicilian) way of life. Cafes, restaurants, architecture, churches, vini, proper coffee, THE LOCAL CHOCOLATE, granita, sitting in the shade watching the world go by, the wine bars, the friendliness of local people, oh yes , and the scooters! Giorgio was extremely friendly and helpful. For example, even though we arrived at an ungodly hour of the night due to a late flight, he was waiting for us in the town centre to lead us to the villa and show us the facilities. He was available by phone at any time and came frequently to clean the pool. He also loaned us a satnav and beach umbrellas - nothing was too much trouble! We would all be happy to recommend Villa Modica for a perfect holiday in the cheerful sun of Sicily. We hope to return someday.

Best villa we have rented
Best villa we have rented
Go! It's really wonderful. The caretakers made us fantastically welcome. The villa setting is stunning and location perfect -- about five minutes from a charming un-touristy town yet with the feeling that no one is around you. It's equipped with every modern convenience -- including dishwasher and microwave which make housework particularly easy. Loved the town of Modica itself. The chocolate is unusual - made without milk and a must try, as are the morning granitas with creme and brioche... The Marina di Ragusa, has excellent seafood restaurants and great people watching along the boardwalk. The restaurant Fattoria delle Torri is in Modica and very haute Sicilian cuisine - worth an evening out like that. Prepare to get lost when driving -- it's not a big deal -- but pretty much happens on every excursion! The villa was fantastic. We will definitely book with you again because the quality of the villa, the excellent cook and your helpful staff made all the difference. Thank you for the fantastic holiday.

Beautiful setting, warm welcome
Beautiful setting, warm welcome
I stayed at Villa Modica and found the experience overwhelmingly good. The setting, in gardens and olive groves, with a wonderful pool area, total privacy and tranquility, cannot be beat. It is peaceful and green and yet only 5 minutes from the historic center of Modica, a charming city in the heart of Baroque Sicily, from which you can make many day trips to points of interest in the area -- Ragusa Ibla, Noto, Scicli. The sand beaches of southern Sicily are less than a half hour's drive. In addition to the setting, Villa Modica has one very special quality that distinguishes it from other rentals I have had in Italy. The owner and his wife are very warm and friendly and go to great ends to make the clients' stay special. The villa is impeccably clean. On arrival day, they leave you with a home cooked meal and the table is beautifully set and ready. No need to rush off for groceries. They also leave ample provisions for breakfast the for next morning -- bread, cheese, eggs, cold cuts, fruit, a good supply of bottled water. Relax! The owner will also help you with your vacation plans. He is happy to arrange a breakfast feast for you at a local farm where they make their own ricotta cheese over an open fire and serve only homemade food. The whole time you are there you feel supported by the owner. Be sure to try the pizza at La Contea and the gelato at Fiore!

We had a marvelous time exploring Modica and the surrounding area. The villa was perfect for our group of 2 parents, 2 children and 3 grandparents - because everyone had their own space and there was plenty of room. The scenery around the villa was exquisite and we enjoyed it from the lovely pool area and the sun room. The owner was very friendly and helpful, giving us good recommendations and taking us to the local restaurants where the locals go. We really appreciated having a stocked kitchen upon arrival as well as a homemade lasagna that we ate for our first meal in Sicily. Enjoyed Most: The pool area and gardens were lovely and well tended. The landscaping was very tasteful. The views from the villa of the countryside and hills of Modica were lovely. The bedrooms were spacious and there was plenty of storage.
