We had a wonderful time at this beach cottage! It was a home away from home for sure! We will definitely be back to stay again. The owners were great to work with too, which makes it an even better experience.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was a wonderful house to rent! Although it says it's one bedroom, the loft above the main level holds 4 beds and lots of space for kids to play. The high ceilings and wall of windows let you take in the view! Although it was stormy, the kids played for hours on the beach. We will rent here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks so much Stacey! If you come back during crab season & we're successful, we'll share some bounty of the seas!!

Hi Kathy and John, Thank you so much for sharing your beach house with us. We got very unlucky with the weather but we still had such a great time although it rained it was stormy. The house is stocked with everything you could want. Lots of toys and movies for kids. Great place for kids and dogs. On the few weather breaks we got, we did go play outside and it was great fun exploring the beach with all the driftwood. Gorgeous location. We'll definitely be back! great place for family and pets. Lots of toys, videos and books for the kids. Furnished with everything except an iron and ironing board. Our problem was that we have bad backs and the queen sized bed was too small for us and too soft. Beautiful scenery. The beach is hard to get to because of all the drift wood you have to climb over to get to it. Nice fire pit in front, barbeque on back deckRecommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Hi Kathy and Joe, I wanted to let you know how much FUN we all had at your beach house. It was the perfect place for our batchlorette party!! We had planned to go to the winery, maybe some hiking but our cars never left the driveway. Your house was just too relaxing and the atmosphere was unbelievable with water on both sides, two decks, who could ask for more? We ate our breakfasts and dinners on the front deck which was so nice, it was like being at a waterfront restaurant. While inside we enjoyed the open floor concept and the light bright feel with all the windows. Talk about an LP collection, my gosh you guys have a ton. It was so much fun going thru your collection and playing the oldies but goodies, brought back a flood of memories!! My girlfriend and I were in charge of finding a place for our event and your home looked like the perfect place on line but once we arrived, it far exceeded our expectations! We can not wait to come back and do it all again. It was so nice meeting you both and look forward to see you again in the near future. .Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at this delightful cottage. The house is on a deadend street so no traffic at all. The "backyard" is a tidal area with more herons than we have ever seen in one place! The "front yard" is a beautiful bay with gorgeous views, on a sunny day, of Mount Rainier and the Cascades. We walked on the stone beach through driftwood and watched the bald eagles swooping down into the bay and watching from the tall pines on the shore. The cottage is filled with games, beds, a well-stocked kitchen -- perfect for a family of five (with 3 grown children). We hihgly recommend this as a quiet, serene family vacation place or a romantic weekend getaway -- exceeded our expectations!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property exceeded my expectations in all the categories that were most important to me! I was traveling with my Grandfather, and he settled in and was comfortable right away! Since it was near the end of a dead end street, it was quiet. At low tide we watched eagles (up to 12 at a time) and Blue Heron feed an the beach right in front of the house.. We loved watching the tide roll in and fill the cove right behind the house (right up to the deck) and then turn and drain back out every day. It was only a couple of miles to a great shopping center if you needed to grab" something to cook or make use of their deli or coffee house. And if you got bored, there was plenty of Island to explore! There was also a great country road that was great for walks or bikes tha circled the cove...beautiful! I hope to go again and bring my grandkids!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
About the owner: We are semi-retirees with our primary residence on the other side of the island. Since our adult children live in different cities we decided to open the opportunity for other families to experience and enjoy this unique locale.
Why the Owner Chose Camano Island:
We loved being able to leave Seattle & in about an hour without the lines or costs of a ferry, be in a beachfront community: small enough to get acquainted with other lifelong resident owners many who have other family owners on our beach. The easy interactions yet respect for privacy make ours a wonderful community. It's a relatively small community since the buildable lots have been limited by septic system requirements, and the length of our peninsula.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our 'backyard' is all water! The deck overhangs the back estuary/cove and there is nothing better than sitting in the rocker & listening to so many birds calling out; watching the eagle parents teach their young to hunt; the flocks soaring and swooping as they dance across the horizon. Our neighbors are not year around residents so it is very private both front & back decks. When the sun shines (& it does that a lot on our island despite what other weather is nearby), it is time to flop on the chaise lounges & read without interruption! We love boating & crabbing & if you're there during season & want to join us baiting/pulling pots, we'll work to make that happen, demonstrating cleaning & cooking & sharing the bounty of the sea!!
