The accommodations include 3 bedrooms (king, queen and 2 full beds), 3 baths, and a loft area with 4 built-in bunk beds, sleeps 12 total (all in comfortable beds, no sleeper sofas). THE RESORT – Steinhatchee Landing Resort is located three miles upsteam from the Gulf of Mexico on the banks of the Steinhatchee River. Nestled among moss-draped oaks and towering pines, the resort offers a natural Florida paradise unlike any other. Designed to look like an Old Florida-style riverside village, the 70 tin-roofed Victorian and Cracker cottages blend historic architecture with contemporary amenities for a truly unique getaway. Tennis, basketball, badmitton/volleyball, archery, shuffle board, fitness center, large pool, hot tub, sauna, playground, ping pong, croquet, horseshoes, petting zoo, boat docks and walking trails are open to guests. The wedding chapel and conference center are available for rent from the Landing, along with canoes, kayaks, bikes, archery and shuffleboard equipment.
For boaters and fishermen, boat dockage is available right at the Landing.
AREA RECREATION - Steinhatchee has been a famous fishing destination for generations, with freshwater and saltwater fishing year-round. Great fishing can be found both inshore, offshore and on the fly for big catches of redfish, grouper, sea trout, flounder, black bass, snapper, cobia and more. During the summer at Steinhatchee, scalloping takes center stage. The Steinhatchee area is known as 'Florida's Scallop Capital,' as the Gulf waters make an ideal habitat for these delicious shellfish. Scalloping season typically opens July 1 and ends September 24 each year. Other popular recreational opportunities in the area include bird watching, hiking, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, scuba diving, cave diving, nature photography, and visiting the many state parks in the area. Boat rentals and charters are available through the local marinas.

Had a wonderful ladies' weekend relaxing and taking in the breathtaking beauty of the property and river. The highlight for me was kayaking into some of the most awe-inspiring natural beauty of "old Florida" - exploring areas that seemed untouched by man...yet with all the amenities. The photos for the house and propery, though accurate, do not fully capture the casual, immaculate elegance. The house is spacious, well stocked and thoughtfully decorated to enhance seamless immersion into the environment. While I didn't fish this weekend, it was clear from activities I observed that this is a fishing and scalloping paradise. I highly recommend this for couples, familes with children of all ages and "buddy weekends!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family had a great time at the Fisher House. The accommodations were perfect and the house was outfitted with everything we needed for our long weekend. We vacationed with three other families that were staying at the Landings and when it was our night to make dinner, the house accommodated all 17 of us in the living area very comfortably. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks, we are glad you all enjoyed yourselves. The Landing is a great place for family and friend get-togethers. Please come again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Fishers Cove. The house was beautiful and spacious. We had two families staying at the house and there was plenty of room. The house was very clean and had everything necessary for a long weekend. The resort was great and we loved the kayaking. The kids rode their bikes all over and tried every outdoor activity (we turned off the tv and ipods without complaint).Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed the house and all the activities at the Landing. We hope you come back and stay at Fisher's Cove again!

This was our third year staying in your home. The scallops were great this year, better than last year. We scalloped about 1/4 mile southwest of the bird rack. Thanks for sharing your home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for sharing your home! We were here for my nephews wedding and hosted a bridal shower in this home. It was perfect! People were here from all over the world and stayed in Steinhatchee. Myself, sister and niece and her family stayed here. The 3 little girls ages 6, 3 and 18 months loved being able to play on the porch, go swimming and play at the park. Thank you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: Mark and Kim Fisher. We live in Gainesville, FL and are originally from NY. We have 3 teenage boys that love fishing and scalloping.
Why the Owner Chose Steinhatchee:
We've been coming to Steinhatchee since 2003. Our kids have practically grown up here! The fishing and scalloping are better than anywhere else! We were fortunate to be able to build this house in 2007, and we make the short trip from Gainesville whenever we can!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Fisher's Cove is a beautiful 'home away from home' for vacationing, fishing, scalloping, or just taking a break from everyday life. It's very relaxing and a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends. We love coffee on the front porch overlooking the river. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. And of course, the fishing and scalloping!
