This Historic 1924 beach house has been remodeled with new kitchen and bathrooms, refinished white oak floors and brand new furnishings and comfortable beds. Within walking distance is the main shopping and clubbing areas of "OB" (Ocean Beach) with its Bohemian population of free-thinkers, artists, surfers, and the people-watching cannot be surpassed.
The house is located on the miles of beachfront known as "Dog Beach" because your pet will in heaven on this leash-free dog-friendly beach. Just a short walk to the West and you are on the people-only beach with surfing, boogey boarding, swimming, body surfing, and all the usual beach activities. The fishing pier is also in easy walking distance.
The bicycle path just in the back of the house takes you up and down the coast - bicycles are located on the property for your use, as are the games and beach toys.

Would recommend this property to friends and relatives. There was plenty of room for 5 adults. The kitchen and eating area were well designed. Would recommend putting up house number, to make it easier to find house. The fold out couch had a lot of animal hair in it so bothered allergy sufferers when opened up.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family stayed at Christmas and had a great time at the house. The home is well maintained and has a lot of room. It is close to the beach and it felt like home.

We visited from Las Vegas with our 3 small dogs in mid November. The house is beautiful - has an old, antique-like charm, yet has key kitchen and bathroom renovations to give it a contemporary look and feel. Everything was clean and organized and there were tons of games, supplies, and other helpful surprises in the cabinets. We loved the deck and backyard and could literally walk out the back gate and onto the bike trail. A very short walk down to Dog Beach provided us with hours of entertainment with our four-legged family :) I would recommend checking out the following nearby restaurants, all of which were excellent! World Famous, Island Prime, Pizza Port, Nick's and Shades. Also Olive Tree was a nice little market where we loaded up on things to cook with at the house as well. Starbucks nearby if you enjoy that :) Very nice homeowner who was prompt in communication and met us when we arrived and also on the beach at one point too! Thanks Kelly, we really can't wait to come back again!

My family just returned from a week in the OB. This house was exactly what we had hoped for. A little for all. We travelled with older teenagers and they had plenty to do and we had a good relaxing time. The dogs were in heaven. No need to drive, you can walk and bike to most things if you want to stay local. Even over to the hectic Mission Beach (our kids biked there daily). Thanks Kelly for a wonderful home! We'll be back!

Just returned from a long weekend stay at this house. What a great experience we had - the dogs were in heaven at the dog beach and I must say we were too! The historic nature of the house provides so much charm, while the recent renovation makes it a comfortable and clean place to stay. The views from the raised deck in back were so great and you just can't beat the ocean breezes blowing in the windows of the family room. Thanks so much!

We enjoyed our stay in Ocean Beach. Our son was coming home from deployment so we decided to rent a place. I wanted three bedrooms and was pleased with the new kitchen,bathrooms,outside space,top deck,bikes etc. We had plenty of room and dishes to have my husbands family over for dinner. I would recomend this house anytime. We walked to many good restaurants that were very close to the house.

Our family, 2 adults, a 14 year old boy and a 12 year old girl, a golden retriever and a mid-sized terrier just finished a 7 day stay at this delightful house. We will be coming back. The clean feeling of the hardwood floors throughout, the good quality furnishings, the freshness of the paint and new bathrooms and kitchen was top rate. The access to the bike path and enormous dog beach are right outside the back gate. This is a huge plus for us. We arrived with 3 bicycles and rode every single day, sometimes 2 or 3 times. From this bike path you can go all the way to Pacific Beach, Sea World, downtown Ocean Beach and beyond! It is well used for jogging, bikes and dog walking. I'm not sure why anyone would want to walk their dogs on a leash when they can run free on the beach, and a wonderful beach it is. The City of San Diego should be commended for allowing and encouraging such use. We did not, in the 6 days, see any dog waste on the beach. There are plastic bags available at the trail heads (you walk through dunes from the bike path) and numerous trash bins on the beach. We did see a flock of about 50 pelicans diving into the channel - quite a spectacular sight! Then within minutes, while the pelicans were diving, the porpoise - about 10 - showed up to take part in the feast. Sunsets are incredible in the winter. The house is well-furnished in the two living areas. The living room has a large screen tv as well as a working fireplace, which in the winter was lovely. The family room that opens to the kitchen and has large windows looking toward the sea, has a dining table that became the center of our family's activity. I had friends and family over for dinner one night and the house accommodated 10 of us nicely. Good pots and pans and kitchen accoutrements if you like to cook. There is a marvelous little market in OB called the Olive Tree that had just about anything you might want - good deli, good wine and beer selection, good cheeses and everything else. Go to World Famous restaurant in Pacific Beach for fantastic beach front dining. The food is as good as the ocean views, the lobster tacos are to die for. Good job, Kelly in setting up and maintaining a top rate property.

We just returned from an awesome 10 days in Ocean Beach and absolutely loved this house. This is our 3rd time staying here and it's always been great. We are two couples and two dogs, but there is plenty of room for 6 - 8 people. This year, we were fortunate to enjoy a newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom, as well as new appliances and many other upgrades. The listing photos and description are accurate; any surprise you experience will be a pleasant one. Pets are welcome and it's just minutes to walk to Dog Beach. The people beach is easy walking distance, also. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and care that you have a nice stay at their property. We frequently used the bike path that is just outside the house's backyard gate to head to Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, nearby parks, and, of course, Ocean Beach. OB eateries and shopping are within biking and walking distance. It's a wonderful place to park the car (in driveway) upon your arrival and not have to worry about driving or parking for the entirety of your stay.
