This is a very special place for a special type of holiday unique to Tuscany. If you want to run around by car endlessly and never enjoy your rental or the locals, this is NOT where you want to be...If you want to enjoy life like a local Italian on holiday, slower days of relaxation, food, wine, seaside living and beautiful people, then this is your ideal place. Having stayed in this area of Southern Tuscany for over 10 years during the summers, I can assure you that the villa, the family hosts and the unique experience you'll have here will not be matched anywhere outside of being at Villa de Stepano. It's authentic, classic, traditional Italian holidays. I don't know what was more lovely... The villa, the surrounding area, the sea or the wonderful people there? We want to esp. tell Bea and her family for the wonderful care, attentiveness and friendship during our time. We, like so many of their guests, want be back every summer we possibly can and make it a tradition from here on out. THANK YOU! Arrivederci... Things to see/visit: Populonia Alta, Etruscan Archeology sites, Elba island, seaside swimming, biking, boating, wine tasting in Bolgheri, lingering at the villa for cooking meals and outdoor dining, reading, thinking and whatever else you desire.
