The Hawthorne Garden Cottage is an urban space that provides a relaxed and affordable alternative to hotel living. Nestled between the historic Hawthorne arts neighborhood and the sizzling culinary corridor of Division Street, it is 5 minutes by car to the heart of downtown Portland. Many of the cities most outstanding restaurants, coffee shops, groceries and independent retailers are just a few blocks away. This quiet, light-filled, home away from home comes fully furnished to meet your every need whether you're in the city for a few days or a month or two. The Cottage is professionally designed to be aesthetically pleasing, efficient and green and combines both comfort and practicality in it's remarkable 240 square feet. Though technically a studio (it is a one room space) with private bathroom, it is a completely separate and private stand-alone building. Designed by Susan Chapman, a native Oregonian with an arts background and a track record of notable home renovations (including two featured in The Oregonian), the spaces are a unique blend of old and new. This retreat in our historic residential neighborhood is a good fit fit for those looking for a quiet, peaceful respite from their urban and outdoor adventures.
