Cross over “The Fishingest Bridge in the World” and relax at your own pace in this tropical paradise, world renowned for its fishing and quaint little art colony - just a short, pleasant walk away.
Deep, wide, direct access canal offers quick access to Matlacha Pass and the Gulf of Mexico. Superb fishing with variety of fish includes reds, mangrove snapper, trout, tarpon, and local favorite – snook. Some of the local restaurants will cook ‘em up just the way you like! Boat davits and ladder on site are available for boat access.
While here, be sure to check out Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa, Sanibel, Captiva, and Boca Grande – a tarpon hot spot. Charlotte Harbor is host to fishing tournaments throughout the year. Eat fresh sea food and enjoy live music nightly.
Beautiful sunsets and kayaking adventures await you so come on down to “Matlacha, the last great place”. It won’t take you long to get on “Island Time”.

NICE! Scenic views from the house.It's Close to town,shopping,food&drink and pretty good fishing.The house was clean,but a little dated and that was ok.I like to thank (MPI)owner for helping with hooking up our computer,she was very accommodating.Even though the weather was up and down,we hope to rebook for next marchRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I are currently staying at this property and found it to be very delightful, location,location,location, I can walk to the little shops and restaurants, grocery stores are not very far away, I found the house to be clean and the color of the rooms to be very cheerful,we will be coming back next February, can't wait.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

After a 2 day drive we arrived at the house looking forward to grilling, showering and relaxing with a series on PBS. The grill was not set up, there was no hot water and cable/internet had not been connected. Phone calls to the realty company were not returned so the next day we made a trip to MPI with our list. Most issues were resolved within two days. The house is as pictured - dated. The dishwasher, oven and clothes washer worked but were unreliable and the kitchen was just not clean. If you need a wireless connection several local businesses offer access. The location is convenient to the quirky town, the back canal provides jumping fish and pelicans to entertain plus the canal is great to drop in kayaks. We enjoyed Matlacha and Pine Island but the condition of the house left a lot to be desired.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2
