We had the pleasure of staying in the Sunflower House for 1 week and were very happy with our choice. The apartment is perfect for 2 people. It is comfortable, clean and has everything you need to be comfortable. Wickford is a neat little town on the bay full of quaint shops and friendly people. We especially loved the restaurant "Tavern on the Sea" which is right down the street from the Sunflower House. The location is perfect for visiting other of RI, which we did. We also spent afternoons at the town beach which was perfect in a park like setting. I highly recommend this rental and would go back again in a heartbeat!Did you find this review helpful? My wife and I recently stayed at this property with our six month old son, our dog and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Sunflower House is exactly as advertised and perfectly located within the village of Wickford. There were shops and restaurants within a few steps of the house along with a Rite-Aid pharmacy which came in handy more than a few times. For bigger purchases, there were retail grocery stores within a short car drive . Highlights of our trip included time spent at Block Island, Narraganssat Beach, a walking tour of Providence, the Ganssett harbour boat cruise of Newport, dinner at Matunuck Oyster Farm and catching a Pawtucket Red Sox game which were all again within a half hour drive...Not to be forgotten is the great time we spent at North Kingstown Beach and the fresh seafood dinner we made after buying fresh catch from a fish market right down the street. For those bringing pets, we found the entire area to be very dog friendly and this property allowed us ample opportunity to take our four legged friend on daily walks thru the picturesque neighbourhoods of Wickford. As for the owner, Cindy was an absolute joy to deal with...she even went to the trouble of mailing something to us we had left behind on our departure. We highly recommend this first rate property!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Could not afford the London Olympics so we came to Rhode Island....and had a GREAT time. This apartment has been very tastefully updated to all the modern stuff (gourment kitchen,washer/dryer, AC, Tile shower, TV, Internet, etc), yet has lost none of it's Vitorian charm or grace. The owners were wonderful to deal with....by phone, via email, snail mail, and in person. Wickford turned out to be a great "Base Camp" for all our our day trips. We were able to enjoy swimming, reading, tanning at the beach, Newport and its Music Festivals, Mansions and Food, also sailing with 12 meter charters. It was great to have such a great place to come back to after a day out and feel so at home, make a great dinner in a great kitchen, relax and watch the Olympics with a martini...a real "Gold Metal" vacation.Did you find this review helpful? My husband and I spent 3 lovely weeks at the Sunflower House. The pictures posted are exactly how it looks. The apartment was very comfortable and spotlessly cleaned. The kitchen was very well equipped and the updated appliances made it a pleasure to cook in. Located in the heart of historic Wickford, the house offered a great opportunity to walk conveniently to restaurants, the pharmacy, as well as a wide variety of shops. It's also only a 10 minute walk to the North Kingstown beach, which is an extra bonus. All in all we had a fantastic vacation and a very enjoyable stay at the Sunflower House.Owner response: We purchased this beautiful 1881 Queen Ann Victorian in 1993 with the idea that we would retire here one day where we could walk to everything a bank, pharmacy, restaurants, shops, fish market, the town beach, the church we were married in and our yacht club. We can also drive to Jamestown and Newport in minutes. Life is good here in Wickford and sharing our village and our Sunflower house with guests is so rewarding!

My wife and I are expecting our first baby and we wanted to take a nice relaxing getaway before we entered parenthood. All I can say about this place is that it was the perfect getaway. The apartment was great and the town of Wickford was unbelievable. It had everything from the cute stores to friendly people and the local ducks that calmly checked in at all the tables seeing if they had anything to share. We can't wait to visit again with our new family.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in Wickford for 2 weeks and found so much to do in the area. The village is beautiful and so is the Sunflower House. We loved the little shops and enjoyed sitting on the proch watching the world go by. You can rent a boat in the harbor right across the street! Everything that you could possibly need is provided and the update to the house was done with thought and care. Thanks so much to the Halls!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your compliments, it was a pleasure to meet you and your family! We hope you will come back again.

This was my first visit to RI and it won't be my last. The Browns' apartment was beautiful, clean, with a lot of thought put into the rennovation. I have rented several vacation homes and this one was by far, the nicest. It was wonderful to be able to bring my dog, Callie, to hike with me at the Acadia Management Area in Exeter. Everything you need is steps from the apartment: shops, restaurants, the marina and strolling along Brown and Main Streets to view the beautiful Victorian homes. Parking was right outside 'The Sunflower' house (built in 1883). Jamestown, Narragansett and Newport were short car rides away. The Brown's left a whole binder of helpful information right on the kitchen countertop. It was also a big plus for me to wash my hiking clothes as the week progressed. Cynthia was very quick to address any questions I had. I would definitely recommend 'The Sunflower House' apartment for anyone who wants to visit the coast of RI. Owner response: The pleasure meeting you was all mine. Thank you for choosing our property for your "home away from home"!

I am from RI originally but moved to Florida some 30 years ago so I know the state well. We stayed here for 3 weeks in August-September of 2010 and you could not find a better value. The apartment is fantastic and Wickford is a great place to base yourself for a RI holiday. It's a 20 minute drive to Point Judith and the same to go to Providence. If you like peace and quiet Wickford is the place for you with nice shops and a town beach close by.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great time in this quaint little village. The apartment had all the amenities and was just adorable. It was the perfect location to site see...not far from the Newport and Narrangansett. We enjoyed walking through Wickford and having breakfast every morning in town and sitting outside on the front porch watching the "world go by."Recommended for: Romantic getaway

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for a week during our recent vacation. We really enjoyed ourselves and the apartment was perfect for the two of us. The apartment was clean and equipped with all the things the description stated. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. While there, we were able to hang out in the living room and watch DVDs, cook in the beautiful and fully-stocked kitchen, do laundry, and just relax. We were traveling to nearby towns and attractions so we were also grateful for the wireless internet and the folder full of information that was left for us. The town of Wickford was nice as well. It is close to a lot of things and has great grocery stores. We would definitely recommend this property to others and wouldn't mind returning if we travel that direction again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.
