Gorgeous Isle of Palms Beach House with Spectacular Ocean Views on Quiet, Safe Cul de Sac Leading to Beach
This open, sunny 6-bedroom beach house is perfect for families as it is located on one of the very sought after quiet, charming side streets right off the sand dunes and away from the more crowded beach areas on the island. With 7 porches, fabulous ocean views and a 60 second walk down to the beach -- this is Island Living at its best!
The house has two main bedroom suites, with full bath, ideal for two families and an additional four bedrooms for kids or other guests. All six bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.
1st Floor: On this entry level floor you will find the secondary living room area designed for kids to have a separate play area for board games and watching TV, allowing parents to sometimes enjoy a more relaxing main living room upstairs and adult conversation. There are three bedrooms on this floor, all with bathrooms en-suite. The master bedroom on this floor has a queen-sized bed, sitting area and has a nice bathroom with large tiled shower. It has double glass door access to a peaceful side porch, which runs the length of the house. This porch has a comfortable hammock for quiet reading and relaxation. The two other bedrooms on this first level have two twin beds in each room -- in one of those rooms, we have pulled the two twins together and made bed up as a King (can be easily separated back into twins if necessary).
2nd Floor: The second level is the main living area of the beach house and is designed with vaulted ceilings and a large great living room that opens onto the dining room and open kitchen. Here you can enjoy two gorgeous porches facing the ocean. One porch faces down our street with great ocean views and breezes, the other large porch off dining room has 6 comfortable rocking chairs, and is a great space to unwind while grilling outdoors, surrounded by palm trees. A third porch set behind kitchen has a great hammock, which is a great place for a nap or a summer read. This main level is flooded with light and is a marvelous place to relax with your friends and family.
Also on this floor you will enjoy a flat screen TV and DVD, and a large sectional sofa just off the dining room area.
The kitchen has plenty of counter space with bar stools for friends to gather round and talk while you prepare your meals for grilling on the outside porch grill.
Behind the open kitchen/dining room area are two additional bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. One is ideal for children as it has a double under single bunk bed, suitable for three small children or two older children. The other bedroom has a queen bed, with full bath, with access to the front porch of the house and terrific ocean views. It is off this second floor bedroom that you will find the laundry room with washer and dryer, tucked away behind the elevator, which is facing the kitchen. The elevator is designed primarily for luggage and groceries, is very small and will not accommodate a wheel chair, or more than one person. It must be used with caution as it may break easily if misused. The elevator only goes to second floor (kitchen area), not to Master Suite on third floor.
3rd Floor: This floor consists entirely of one very large, sunny master bedroom, which includes a king bed, sitting alcove with desk, master bath with jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower, walk-in closet, and access to a small porch with spectacular views of the ocean and beach that stretch for miles in front of the house. This master bedroom also includes a flat screen TV.
Children staying at the beach house will also enjoy a basketball hoop/with movable stand, which can be wheeled out on the driveway for a spirited group basketball game. The street is very quiet with little traffic as it is a cul de sac, which few people venture down unless they are residents. There is an outside shower for your convenience under the house so that renters can shower after returning from the beach.
This home also comes with high speed internet (Internet services are not guaranteed to work with your equipment. We cannot provide support for guest's personal computer systems, nor can we guarantee the WiFi will be operational).
The house if very near the Isle of Palms Marina, where you can rent jet skis, kayaks, take boat rides to the barrier islands, etc. We highly recommend a morning of paddle boarding from the Marina. You can rent the boards and take off as a group or on your own and explore the creeks and waterways off the Island. It's a very peaceful and fun activity. Also, the famous Wild Dunes golf resort is three short blocks from our home, where non-members can -- for a fee -- rent bikes and use their restaurant, tennis and golf facilities.
MUST BE 30 years of age or older to rent this home! As a note of caution we would like to remind you that this home is located in a residential area, and the community is very sensitive to inappropriate noise levels emanating from rental homes particularly in the evening hours. Therefore we cannot allow parties, and we must prohibit large gatherings after 10pm. The noise ordinance is strictly enforced by the Isle of Palms Police. Violations of the noise ordinance could result in fines and/or eviction.

About the owner: Michael and I both live in Washington, D.C., however, Michael grew up in South Carolina and we love to vacation at our beach home on the Isle of Palms with our three children, extended family and friends. While we have traveled to many parts of the world, it's hard to beat the beautiful beaches, the marshes, the barrrier islands, the wildlife and fabulous weather when visiting the Isle of Palms. We also just love spending time in downtown Charleston -- which we find to be one of the most charming cities in America, with fabulous gourmet restaurants!
Why the Owner Chose Isle of Palms: Michael's family owned this beach house many years ago, however, we did a major renovation and turned the original three bedroom house into a six bedroom, six-bath home as we wanted it to be big enough for us to invite our extended family while on vacation. Before we renovated, we looked at many other homes for sale, however, we decided very quickly that our location was unbeatable as it is practically beach front, is on a beautiful quiet beach side street and is very close to the marina, wild dunes resort, and only 20 minutes to Charleston.
The Unique Benefits at this House: The unique benefits of this home are the extremely short hop, skip & jump to the beach itself, the quiet, safe street and the seven porches with many fabulous ocean views. And if you enjoy bright, open living areas, you'll love the layout of this home. The house is also a 5 minute drive to the marina where you can rent motor boats, jet skis, kayaks, banana boats, etc.
Also, the world renowned Wild Dunes resort is a 5 minute drive away as well, where you can, for a fee, play golf, get tennis lessons, and rent bikes. Charleston itself is an easy, scenic 20 minute car ride over the bridge, which is a huge plus as well.
