Dave and Wylene, thank you so much for sharing your condo at New Haven with our family. It was such a pleasure to meet you at your other home on Fripp. Your genuine Southern hospitality was very much appreciated. The information you shared about Fripp, the local restaurants even the fresh local strawberries and seafood was very helpful. The condo was everything as represented in the photos, from the well-stocked kitchen to the spacious master bedroom. It was so nice to walk into a condo fully furnished with all the amenities including linens, toiletries and kitchen items. While on the island, I thoroughly enjoyed the sunset excursion on the Fripper II; it was an awesome view of the island and spectacular sunset. We also enjoyed the best mode of transportation on the island; the golf cart. There's no better way to really see the island with all of its wildlife than renting the golf cart. Our family has vacationed in North Myrtle Beach for over 35 years, and my husband said this was the best beach vacation ever. He is usually ready to go home after three days but said he could have stayed three weeks. Your comfortable condo and the beauty of Fripp Island provided the perfect setting for a wonderful vacation. We are already looking forward to a return trip. ~Debbie Shults

We LOVE Fripp Island- this was our first time staying at the New Haven Villas. What a charming setting! This particular villa has one of the best views- the ocean of course is spectacular- but tha beautiful gardens were an unexpected delight. We loved the way the sunlight played off the natural beauty but also the architecture of the surrounding villas. Fripp itself is beyond description- Awesome three mile beach, two of the best golf courses you'll ever play- deep water marina- bike paths- and totally peaceful. If you want more "action" Beaufort is just up the road. As I said- we love Fripp so we just hung out - This villa is spacious, clean, and decorated in a tasteful blend of beachy Chic and homeiness.Comfortable- and it had all we needeed. The Kitchen had granite counters, new appliances- we are some of the rare folks that actually COOK on vacation- we had enough pots, dishes etc. for all of our efforts! And after a long day of Fripp fun we enjoyed the large TV as well. Our king sized bed was extremely cushy and comfy- enjoyed the oversized tub- and the fact that there are 2 1/2 baths. We felt the owners had made every effort to make our stay as Special as it could be! We would recommend this villa to anyone.

Wonderful stay, Wonderful Owners

My mother and I had a few days for a "get away" to just enjoy some quite time together. It was wonderful. I read the one poor review before renting the condo, however I decided to go ahead and rent the place anyway. After speaking with the owner, Dave, he was extremely pleasant and helpful with questions that we had so I thought that the place could not be as bad as the person described. It was not...it was very clean and comfortable. The view of the ocean was very nice. The only thing was that there was not any beach right at the condo, however that did not bother us. We simply got in the owner's golf cart and rode down a short distance to a place that had beach about all day. The beach would be great for little kids, due to all of the tide pools. We loved the golf cart! One day we rode all over the island, looked at the views of the sound and ocean and beautiful homes. Stopped at the marina for a hot dog and ate it on the dock Another day, we went into Beaufort. We shopped and took a horse drawn carriage ride to learn about the history of Beaufort. Very interesting and fun. We ate at a place called "Plums"...the fish sandwhich was excellent. Perfect weather, not too hot during our stay in May. Oh...one more thing, I overpaid by $50 and the owner let me know and sent a check immediately back to me. Very honest and kind. I highly recommend this place for your "get away" as well. Thank you.

Our stay on Fripp Island was incredible! We had gorgeous weather the whole week and were completely relaxed! The condo was even better than anticipated; it was VERY clean, very spacious, offered wonderful views, and had all of the comforts of home! We really couldn't ask for more than that! The owner was extremely helpful and offered many suggestions to make sure we enjoyed our stay. He made sure we had his home number so that we could reach him with any questions, at any time. We used his golf cart, which ran without any problems. He recommended a great restaurant, Boondocks, just off the island, which we loved; really fun atmosphere and great food! We spent one afternoon in nearby Beaufort on a historic tour by horse drawn carriage, which was both lovely and interesting. We had absolutely no complaints - the whole Fripp Island experience was fabulous! I would highly recommend renting through this owner and would definitely rent this unit again! Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to share in such a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing place.

The condo was wonderfully equipped, clean and a perfect location. Watching the sunrise from the deck is an absolutely beautiful experience! We enjoyed a week of rest and relaxation on the island...then went to our son's Marine graduation at Parris Island. What a wonderful week!! Many, many thanks to the extremely friendly owners for a wonderful home away from away during our week at Fripp. We will come back.

Great Condo/ amazing vacation

We have stayed in this condo three times now and have nothing but great things to say about renting from the owners. The condo is great for our family of six. The kids love staying here and we almost think of it as our home away from home. The condo is clean, the owners are very personal and we will rent this lovely place again soon. I will definately keep coming back...

We found the condo very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with new appliances. It has a very nice dinning room and sunny living room. It is a great location for golf and the pool area. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider another stay there.

Poor Property at Fripp

There is a reason this property rents for $500 less than others on the island. While the island is beautiful this condo lacks in every area. Unlike all the other condos it has not been remodeled or upgraded ever. While I was willing to over look the 1980's microwave and the miss match garage sale furniture I was unwilling to over look how filthy the entire condo was. The bed pillows were stained, there was mold growing in the bathrooms, a dead roach in the light of the bathroom, used bars of soap with pubic hair on them under the sinks, stains all over the couch, an inch of dirt on all the return air vents, dirt and lint all over the laundry room floor, the front door was filthy, the shelf in the freezer is held up by a spice bottle, I could go on but you get the picture. We have three small children and had it been only my husband and I we would have left but neither of us could bring ourselves to do that. After checking with the island rental company who had nothing for us to rent last minute (it was 4th of July), I contacted Mr. Martin the owner with my concerns and sent along pictures of the areas that I considered unacceptable. His response was poor, it said it was not mold but gaps in the grout, that he was sorry about the bed pillows, and went on to tell me that I really should only expect areas like the kitchen and the bedrooms to be clean, that the laundry room wasn't a place children played so why did that matter. He never commented on the roach nor the soap. He said "so what the doors filthy". He told me he was "growing tired" of our correspondence, it was the middle of the busy rental and to call the maid that she was "at my beck and call". He also stated that he only wanted to the maid to come if I was there "he didn't trust me to not say something was missing?" Seriously is this how you treat a customer. The maid came that afternoon and was amazing. She stated that the owners actually clean that condo themselves, which might explain the offense they took. She agreed it was mold in the bathroom, stated she had mentioned it to him many times as well. She herself took pictures of how nasty and dirty the laundry room was, she was not shocked at our complaints. She cleaned as best should could and apologized about the shape the condo was in. We have rented many many times on VRBO all across the United States and have always been so impressed. I am so disappointed that this condo is included. I have many pictures if requested

Owner response:We have been renting this unit for five years. This is the only bad review. We had some issues with this renter. The only one that ever complained in our hundreds of rentals. About the only thing she said that was true is that the kitchen was outdated. It was. Two weeks ago we put in a new fridge, stove and microwave. Since we bought the place five years ago, we put in all new carpet, tiled the hallway, put in a new kitchen floor last year, and replaced the recliner and sofa last year. Everything is relatively new. We have had only two reviews in five years for the condo. If you will note, the first review was for the week prior to her rental, which gave us a five star. I believe she did this out of spite. When she complained, I sent our maid over to deal with her complaints. She actually had the maid move the washer and dryer and clean under and behind it. That was the only dirt she could find other than the entry door being soiled from use. You come to your own conclusion from this review. Thank you for considering renting our place. If you every have any complaints about cleanliness, we will have a maid over there within a few hours.

Great Condo, Amazing Island

The condo was perfect for us, four adults and two children. It was in great shape, clean and all the amenities listed were available. The location was perfect and the wildlife was abundant. We had a biologist with us which made the stay even more adventurous. Also, I could make a tee time, walk across the street and be at the pro shop ready to golf. I'm debating whether to return to the island this year. Normally I like to visit different places, but Fripp Island was a special experience.
