Stanhope Dunes is a truly luxurious two year old, 2800 sq. ft. beach house that has incredible views of the North Shore beaches and sand dunes as well as Covehead Lighthouse and Harbour. It is now offered for rent for the first time! The house is designed and furnished to take advantage of the views and to provide an experience that will exceed your expectations. We're just a 5-10 minute walk along a paved sidewalk to the beach and only 15-20 minutes to the city of Charlottetown ( and airport ) and Cavendish!
If being spoiled and relaxing is your goal, then you won't be disappointed. There is an amazing, fully equipped chef's kitchen ( with stainless steel appliances, propane stove, large fridge and separate bar fridge) that is open to a relaxing great room with furniture so comfortable, you won't ever want to leave. Also on the main floor is one bedroom, laundry room with large capacity washer/dryer, mudroom for all your outerwear, half bath and pantry. On the second level, you'll find a media room with 52' TV and audio/video components that will easily keep all members of the family entertained. The Sonos music system is wired throughout the house and exterior decks and can be controlled by a single controller anywhere in the home. There are three bedrooms on this level ( all with wall mounted TV's), a large full bath, and luxurious master bath with spacious custom shower equipped with body jets and air massage (2 person) tub. All of the kitchen and bath cabinetry is custom made with undermount sinks and granite or solid surface countertops. In the garage you'll find four adult mountain bikes, a professional series ping pong table and an exercise area with light weights and yoga mats.
The house has wrap around decks on the main level with a private outdoor shower and a six person hot tub to relax in. There is a large second floor south facing deck that is accessible from 2 of the bedrooms; perfect for that morning coffee or soaking up the sun! Four large Adirondack chairs, a two person hammock and a variety of additional outdoor chairs, loungers and tables will meet all your outdoor dining and entertaining needs. There is a large barbecue as well as a portable propane burner with large lobster pot that should satisfy the BBQ'ing expert in your family or group .
For those interested in a more active lifestyle, this location is hard to beat and is unmatched anywhere on PEI ( in our humble opinion of course ). Miles of walking/biking trails are just a few minutes away. You can go windsurfing or kiteboarding in some of the east coast's best conditions and be watched by friends or family back at the house. There's a local golf course a few minutes away, and world class golf including Crowbush Cove, Eagles Glen, Glasgow Hills, Andersons Creek and Green Gables within a 20 minute scenic drive away. Of course you can also walk for miles on our beautiful, unspoiled beaches and we include a family pass for the National Park beaches with your rental.
Other activities close by include the Cavendish theme parks for the kids, shopping at the Cavendish Boardwalk and the Dunes Gallery or deep sea fishing at Covehead Harbour. There are two restaurants across the street at Stanhope Resort and fine dining a few kilometers away at the Dunes restaurant or Dalvay by the Sea, one of PEI's beautiful national historic sites. But don't forget to try the fish and chips at Richard's Seafood in Covehead harbour. They also have some of the freshest seafood you'll find on the island.

This home was absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our annual girl's week-end. Everything in the home was very high end, beds were heavenly and the hot tub is a huge bonus. The only minor issue is that the homes are in a subdivision which limits privacy. The owners were great to deal with and didn't even seem cranky at having to wait when we arrived much later than we anticipated. We'll be back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We love PEI and have rented here four times in the past. This property beats all! The house is fantastic with beautiful artwork and decorations. There were four bikes plus helmuts to use. This area has paved bike paths along side the road so it is not dangerous at all. The beach, with lifeguard, hot shower, restroom is just down the road. Of course there were things like beach umbrellas, mats, towels for us to use too. Fishing for about $35 each is available just down the road. We caught lots of mackeral and cod. We will be back.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

This home and location went above and beyond our expectations. Absolutely gorgeous home in a scenic setting. We enjoyed golfing, bike riding, ping pong, and the beach to name a few. We loved the scenery and just spending time in the home itself. It is beautifully decorated. The owner was readily available and was prompt to reply to any of my questions before or during our rental. I would not hesitate to rent again and would highly recommend to others. You won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Stanhope:
We bought this home in 2011 after looking for years trying to find our ideal beach house. Only one year old when purchased, it offered the design and the modern luxuries we were wanting and was located in the most ideal setting for North Shore ocean views and an active lifestyle. We love being able to walk to the beach and golf course, or ride our bikes for miles on the paved pathways alongside the scenic roads. With a couple of restaurants across the street and fresh seafood available at Covehead Harbour, we can go days on end without driving our cars, and yet we're only 15-20 minutes from all the amenities of city living!
