Handicap Access
This home is fairly accessible for those with limited mobility since there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main level. The main entrance has 2 steps to enter the home. Once you are on the main level, there is a living room, TV, kitchen, dining area, BBQ, and 55 foot deck with amazing views.
Layout
You walk in the front door and straight ahead is the large living room with lots of comfy couches, table seating for 6 and a TV with DirecTV, DVD player. Next to the TV is a wood burning stove and we provide the wood. It is very rare to find homes in Tahoe with real wood burning stoves and fireplaces since a rule came out over 6 years ago that fireplaces must be removed when a home is sold. I bought this house before that rule so I am able to keep the wood stove and fireplace. There are large double paned windows facing the mountain and meadows in this room. The sliding glass door leads you out to the large 55 foot deck with picnic table seating for 18 and a high quality BBQ. The views of the mountains and meadow are amazing and you can see coyotes, birds, chipmunks and sometimes a beaver running around.
On the right side of the deck is a door that leads into the master suite with a queen bed, seating, and ensuite bathroom. You can also enter this private master suite through the garage. Off of the upstairs living room is a hallway which leads you to a bathroom with a shower/tub on the left, a queen bedroom on the right, a king bedroom on the right and then a second master bedroom on the left with a king bed, TV, DirecTV service, and a private bathroom with shower.
Off of the upstairs living room is the open kitchen and dining seating for 12. The kitchen was recently remodeled with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and new sink. Continue through the kitchen and walk down the stairs to the lower level. You will enter the billiards room with a large pool table. On the right are three bedrooms with queen beds. After you pass the billiards room, there is a large bathroom on the left with a shower. Continue down the hallway and you will enter the great room with a large TV with DirecTV, DVD player, DVD library, wet bar, bar stools, shuffleboard table, large cozy fireplace and I provide the wood.
Pass this room and you will enter the sunroom. There is a foosball table, ping pong table, couches and great views. To the right is a large bedroom with 2 full beds. There is a sliding glass door that leads outside to the hot tub. This hot tub was recently purchased and has lots of jets. Around the corner from the hot tub is the wood room. The driveway can fit 4 cars and 2 cars can fit in the garage. In the garage is a storage room for skis, boards, poles, boots, etc.
Viewings/Showings
I love when guests are able to stop by and view the home. I live in San Francisco but I drive up to Tahoe once a week to bring supplies, fix things, monitor construction projects in the home, etc. You can call me on my cell phone and arrange a time to view the home. I am only able to give tours when the homes are empty as I am sure you would not want guests viewing the home when you are occupying the house.
Snow Removal
I have a company that plows the driveway when there is more than 5 inches of snow. Remember to bring chains when traveling in the Sierras and bring extra food and water in your car.
Vacation Rental by Owner
My name is Charles Seidel and I am the owner of this vacation rental home in South Lake Tahoe. If you are looking to rent a home in Tahoe, I recommend finding a private owner instead of using one of the agencies. Private owners take care of their homes much better than the large rental agencies since they care more. I live in San Francisco but I drive up to Tahoe about 3-4 times per month to check on my homes, fix any problems, buy new furniture, and bring up supplies.

This home is great for large groups since there is lots of common areas. Upstairs living room with wood stove and TV, downstairs living room with TV and bar. Billiards room with a pool table. Sundeck area with couches, and foosball and ping pong table, or the large 55 foot deck with views of the mountains.
The Unique Benefits at this House
It is great to do small hikes out the back door. Heavenly Ski resort is only 2 miles away.
The Casinos are only about 3 miles away. It is easy to take a taxi into town.
Edgewood Golf Course is only a few miles away from the house. Great place to stay for weddings.

The Ormsby house is a huge house with room for 18+ people. There is a fantastic view and you can experience the outstanding nature right from the veranda or the hot tub. The house is not located very far from shopping and casinos and is very close to Heavenly ski resort as well. My friends and I really enjoyed staying at the Ormsby house and I would recommend it to everyone going to Tahoe.

The Ormsby house was everything me and my friends needed. Lots of space, nice and clean, pool table and ping-pong table in the basement provided many fun evenings and the hot tub is of course an extra bonus from where you have a great view of a valley. Some friends and I stayed at the Ormsby house for 3 nights and had a blast. The large deck on the back overlooking the stream and mountains was beautiful and was very relaxing. The game room downstairs is huge and great, as it was quiet at nights for the neighbors. I would stay here again. It's very clean, cozy house, and the Mgmt was fantastic to work with!

It's like the best of both worlds. In the summer, you have the activities associated with Lake Tahoe. I do not know how this property was rated excellent. I have a very bad experience. One room has rain leak to the room also heater not working well. We could not stay in that room and needed to move to living room. This is not right place. When you called for explanation, no any answer. Poor management!!!
Owner response:Thanks a lot for writing about the South Lake Tahoe rental house. In the house manual, in the paperwork, and on the fridge has the name of the local maintenance crew in Tahoe. They are available 24 hours a day to assist you while you are on vacation. It looks like you called the rental office which is closed on the weekends. I am sorry about that. We checked on the leak and it was a small leak in the lower left corner of the room by the window. Thanks for letting us know but I think you still could have used the room and the cabin. It was due to the massive snow we received which gave Heavenly Skli Resort 9 Feet of new snow. Thanks.

Some friends had stayed at this rental cabin before and loved it and so did we. The jacuzzi is a new addition and a must after spending all day at the slopes 10 minutes away. Enjoyed playing pool, pingpong, two fireplaces and big flatscreen tvs. Loved this vecation rental!

This place is amazing! It is HUGE and each bedroom is spacious with clean, comfortable decor. It is great for relaxing and socializing at the same time. The kitchen is spacious, well stocked, and perfect for making meals for a crowd (although I must mention that some of the best pizza I've ever had is at the Brewery only a few minutes away). It's super easy to get to the slopes and the lake and is simply a perfect location in South Lake Tahoe. Oh and can't forget about the hot tub...looking out over a beautiful, serene meadow, was exactly what I needed after a day of snowboarding. Lastly, I did have to work while there and the wifi worked perfectly! I can't recommend this place enough...enjoy!

This place is HUGE, clean, new construction, well-maintained, and so much fun. There is something for everyone, with luxury and comfort. Huge kitchen with lots of room for group cooking. There is a BBQ grill, and bread warmer. Special amenities such as ping pong table, hot tub, TV in almost every room. It felt like every bedroom had bathroom. This place is beautiful and huge. It is nested in nature and a quiet side of South Lake Tahoe. We took a cab to the casinos, for a few dollars; but it was so nice to come back to a quiet beautiful place to relax and sleep. My favorite was the hot tub and kitchen. The hot tub because I was soaking in magical peace. The kitchen because it was huge and extremely highend esp. for Tahoe standards. This house is perfect for any large group families and friends. Had a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back. Will be dreaming of you from the busy city life.

I loved this home! The location was perfect - close to the casinos, but set in a woodsy area. I loved the open space and the natural wood-burning fireplaces!! I hardly see that anymore- everybody I know seems to have gas or electric fire places. It is so nice to get out of a hot tub, put on cozy clothes and drink a glass of wine next to a fire with friends around. The game room was great! It would be perfect for a large group of friends or family members. Oh- and the sofa was perfect and the beds were VERY comfortable!!! I had a great time and would definitely recommend this home to people!!!
