The Wendy-Gayle is a family owned beach front house that was built in 1972. When you walk in the front door - the house has the WOW factor with its open floor plan! It's a wonderful home and we have had repeat rentals for years and continue to update and improve the house annually. Available year round w/ discount rates after Labor Day. Great golfers retreat as well! Address: 368 EAST 1st ST, East end of island ~ 20 houses past The Winds condominiums.
The open floor plan is ideal for families with children. When you walk in the front door, you are in the tiled dining area and kitchen with eat-at bar. The master bedroom is immediately off the kitchen. From this area, large windows make you feel as if you're on a cruise ship at sea and it's all open so you can see into the living area. Walking down the set of 5 stairs, you are now in the extra large living area complete with a bar and ice maker.
Two bedrooms sit off of this room each containing two double beds. (sleeps a maximum of eight). There is a spiral staircase that leads to the ultimate kids area. (also great for adults because it's very quiet up there and has it's own air conditioning unit). Off the spiral staircase are two bedrooms each containing two single beds. (sleeps a maximum of four).
I can guarantee that once you rent this house, you will be back. It has brought such joy to our family and we continually try to improve on it. The beach is just a walk down the stairs! We would LOVE to have you enjoy our family vacation home. Year Purchased: 1972
The house was named after myself and the daughter of the couple who we originally built the house with - the Wendy Gayle. I was 2 years old. We laugh saying that if they had named the house after our brothers it wouldn't have survived 35 years of hurricanes!

To wake up, walk into the living room, and have the most amazing view of the ocean was wonderful! Sunrise and sunsets are both visible and the colors are incredible. Lots and lots of room; we didn't lack anything. Some days we sat on the deck and just became mesmerized by the ocean. Other days, we couldn't resist the flight of stairs off the deck that ends directly in the sand! It's an amazing house, clearly a lot of love in it. Would highly recommend!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
