Recently renovated with brand new, high end appliances this 2 bedroom 2 bath home has a beautiful backyard view of Phillippi Creek hidden cove. Bask outside in the warm sun and watch ospreys, egrets, herons, red shouldered hawks and other birds soaring, wading or fishing in the mangroves across the creek. Or sit on the screened porch or in the living room and enjoy the same view. Bring your own fishing poles!
The house is located on the water in River Forest, a small secluded subdivision surrounded on the east, south and west by the Phillippi Creek. It’s a great neighborhood to stroll and has friendly neighbors and little traffic.
There are 2 large bedrooms with a queen, two twins and two sofa sleepers. High quality linens and towels and beach towels and chairs are provided. The floors are refinished hardwood and the living room has a stunning view of the cove.
You can’t beat this location! Biking and blading distance to world famous Siesta Key Beach (No. 1 rated beach in the U.S. where the sugar sand is the finest anywhere). Walking distance to the Landings Shopping Center, the Phillippi Creek Oyster Bar and Phillippi Estates Park (a nice place to walk and fish). You will be only minutes away from jet skiing, para-sailing and wind surfing rentals, the Legacy Trail (great blading and biking), downtown Sarasota, golf courses, libraries, playgrounds and barrier islands (Siesta Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Circle, and Longboat Key). The Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport is only 20 minutes away and Busch Gardens and Disney World are 1 and 2 hours away respectively.
Sarasota is a center of entertainment and cultural activities including the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, the Asolo Theater, Opera House, West Coast Symphony Orchestra and the world-class Ringling Museum. All are within 10-20 minutes.
This property is available on-season and off-season and we have set very comfortable rates accordingly.
A reservation deposit of 50% and $500 security deposit is due at the time of booking payable with check, cashiers check or cash (refundable if cancellation occurs a minimum of 30 days before the lease period begins). Reservation balance is due 30 days prior to occupancy. A one-time cleaning fee upon leaving is paid by owners. Any excessive cleaning charges will be paid by the tenants.

We stayed for a week for Christmas and loved the comfort and convneience of the house. The back yard has a stunning view over Phillipi Creek - a vast expance of open lawn with a swing loveseat, and a screened patio. We loved to sit and watch the birds. Kara was so helpful and kind, little notes were left for lights, appliances etc. and she left us a lovely little welcome basket with coffee, wine and candies. We even had a mini Christmas tree and Santa. The house is very conveniently located. You can be at Siesta Key beach in just a few minutes, and downtown in not much more.There are multiple restaurants and supermarkets including a Trader Joe's and Publix close by, and the Southside shopping mall is nearby too. All in all a lovey experience which we plan to repeat. Thank you Kara, Chris & Dennis - Fort Lauderdale FL.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.

Thoroughly enjoyed my month at this property. The home was in excellent condition, and the owner made extra efforts to make sure I was happy with everything. Examples: The owner provided a welcome basket and breakfast food (knowing that I was flying in town late in the evening). The interior was truly spotless. All bedding and towels were provided - which I have since learned isn't always the case with furnished rentals! The owner made a point several times to ask if there was anything that would make my stay more comfortable. There weren't any issues, but I have no doubt they would have been taken care of. The backyard view of the water, birds, jumping fish is beautiful. Finally, my deposit was returned next-day after moving out. Bottom line: Highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is very comfortable and very well equipped. There are all the appliances one could want, and they all work well. The furnishings are complete with wide screen TV and DVDs. All linens are provided and there are plenty of dishes, glassware, and silverware, pots, pans and kitchen utensils. The location is very convenient for visiting the sights and shopping. The grocery store, Publix, is a short two minute drive away. The aspect of the house that we loved the most was its location on a cove of Phillipi Creek and the GREAT screened porch overlooking the cove.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Stayed for a month in March 2012. Beautiful location, view from the rear is fabulous and what struck us was the peace - sitting in the garden all you could hear were the birds and squirrels. The house was spotless and just refurbished - many of the items were new, and the quality of the furnishings and fittings was high. A bottle of wine and other goodies awaited us on arrival. All the big shopping malls are an easy drive away and the local shopping mall is just a 15 minutes walk. The neighbourhood was impeccable and the house is on what looks to be a private estate. We would be happy to stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+.
