You'll love the layout of Spyglass 14, tailored to the needs of vacationers. On the ground floor are your 2-car garage, full laundry facilities, and a door leading to the sparkling pool and the path to the beach. Hop up the spiral staircase to the second level and you're in the living room, with attached kitchen, half-bath, and sun-soaked balcony with a view of the ocean.
Go up one more level and you'll find two bedrooms and baths. So sensible and convenient, keeping the travel, dining and entertaining, and sleeping areas all separate! Now you can lie in until mid-morning without disturbance from the early risers making coffee and chatting before dashing off to the beach or tennis court!
Whether you're traveling with your children, friends, or another couple, there's plenty of room to stretch out and get comfortable at Spyglass 14. Our living room is filled with ultra-soft couches surrounding a large HDTV and entertainment center. The open-plan design keeps the cook part of the fun too, with the dining table at one end of the living room and the kitchen counter just beyond. Refresh everyone's drinks without missing a minute of your favorite movie, or fill a bowl with fresh popcorn for the game-players at the table without skipping a turn!
Of course, if you have more serious cooking in mind, our convenient kitchen has everything you need to prepare a feast. A full-size fridge, range, double sink, and dishwasher make cooking a snap, and we've got all the gadgets, pots and pans, and dishes to fix what you like and set an elegant table.
When the meal is over, take a glass of wine out to the balcony, through the sliding glass doors in the living room. Beyond the sparkling pool and beautiful palm trees you can see the pure blue of the Atlantic, a promise of fun to come!
The top level is dedicated to getting a sound sleep. Our master bedroom pampers you with a king-sized bed, LCD TV, quiet ceiling fan, wide windows with privacy shades, and cool sea-blue walls. The master bath is luxurious, with a walk-in shower.
The guest bedroom sleeps 3 in one queen and one twin bed. If still more space is needed for a drop-in friend, our air mattress will do the trick. (We even have a pack-n-play for visiting babies!) And there is also a second full bathroom on the top level, with a combined shower and tub. Room for everyone without ever looking crowded!
Spyglass 14 is comfortable and homey, but let's face it -- you're here for the location! You might want to begin with a tennis match on our regulation-size clay court. Then soothe those aching muscles in the sparkling swimming pool. There's plenty of lounging space around the pool as well, in case your time in the water put you in the mood to read yourself to sleep or simply let the sun and sea breeze caress you.
The soft sands of Crescent Beach are just a few minutes away, along our private walkway over the dunes. This family-friendly beach is broad and inviting, with rolling waves, plenty of half-hidden shells and shark's teeth, and a front-row view of the sunrise.
The Spyglass complex is located on Anastasia Island, just 8 miles south of historic St. Augustine, with the Intracoastal Waterway at your back, full of inlets and hiking trails for exploring on land or water. Of course, Disney World is less than a 2-hour drive, as are countless other Florida attractions. From sea kayaking to golfing to world-class shopping, you'll find it all within easy reach of Spyglass 14! Enjoyed our stay in St. Augustine. The condo was Wonderful! It was very roomy and clean. The layout of the condo was unique from others we had stayed in. It was nice that it had a home-like feel with pictures of the owners. The condo had everything...kitchen items, plenty of towels, internet, etc. We knew that we were not in an ocean front condo, but had hoped that we could at least view the ocean. The only thing lacking was a TV in the second bedroom. Also, the ice maker didn't work properly (but we had read that was a possibility from the other reviews - so no big deal...we just bought a bag of ice.) Would have liked a pull out couch in the living room for quest, and the master king bed matress is alittle worn. by and large we were satisfied, The lack of toilet paper was a nuisance. Since two of the guests were senior citizens the stairs presented a difficulty. kitchen had everything we needed, but ice maker was broken. Bedrooms upstairs were very comfortable. Nice to have the fans, another TV, and 2 full bathrooms. We loved the colors and wall hangings throughout the condo. Were told there was a whirlpool in the pool but there was not. were also told the internet was broken but we got it working! And it worked all week.<br/>Only thing missing was a guest book and menu suggestions that can be useful.<br/>Clean & fresh condo. We loved the area, perfect sand beach (4.6 miles to inlet and back on foot) and pool. Landscape is pretty too & well maintained. Unit is not on ocean but we knew that. After going off and leaving a basket full of travel items which included $60 worth of golf balls. The resort acted like it wasn't there and said no one found it or turned it in. WHICH MEANS SOMEONE STOLED IT AND SAID NOTHING TO ANYONE. The condo itself was quiet, clean, well maintained and comfortable. The complex was safe, quiet and friendly. It's within a few short miles to local restaurants, gas and convienence stores. <br/>That being said, I don't feel the property should advertise having ocean views since the view of the ocean is so limited. One of the main reasons I wanted to rent this condo versus other properties was because it offered internet access. On the second day of my stay I realized the internet acess was not working. I reported this to the property manager immediately. They would talk with the owner and ask how to access the internet and call me back. I didn't hear from them again.
