Welcome to Icy Strait Cabins in Hoonah Alaska! These rustic cabins with modern day conveniences line Port Fredrick in between Port Fredrickand Hoonah. Hoonah is the largest Tinglit Village in South East Alaska. This wondrous town is the gateway to adventure nestled in the northern arms of Chichagof Island. Enjoy sport fishing for halibut, salmon and dungeness crabbing with a laid back feel only Alaska can provide. You can whale watch from your deck or from a charter boat. The whales run all summer long with an added bonus of the watching the Northern Lights from late July through the fall! No guarantees but seeing either one of nature's finest shows is well worth the time spent at Icy Strait Cabins! Come experience the true nature of South East Alaska!

About the owner: My husband and I commercially fished in SE Alaska for over twenty years. In the winter he works on fishing gear,still fishes in the summer and I work in GREEN Real Estate and on my art projects. We love to travel but find Hoonah is our second home.
Why the Owner Chose Hoonah:
After fishing in Se Alaska for so many years,we chose Hoonah as our second home. This property became available for sale and we took the plung and purchased it. My husband has aplace to stay in between openrs and I have my retreat from my busy life in Washington.
