Graymor Garden Cottage is fully equipped for either a weekend get-away or several days of vacation time. This charming cedar cottage is located in a lush, West Coast waterfront garden setting only a short stroll away from the Pier Street and Shoppers Row downtown shops and services.
The bedroom has a comfy, queen-size bed and there's a cozy loft with twin beds. Additional sleeping space is available on the double sofa bed in the living room. The full bath has a vintage claw-foot tub with shower and there's lots of closet & cupboard space. The kitchen is fully equipped and linen is supplied. The cottage has central heating and a fireplace (with wood supplied) for a cozy spot on a cool evening. There's a spacious deck overlooking the gardens and glimpses of Discovery Passage and the gas BBQ and patio set with umbrella are an invitation to outdoor dining with a view.
Guests at the cottage also have access to the ocean side patio in front of the main house and a wooden deck in the lower garden. Both spots are great places to watch the Alaska bound cruise ships plying the Inside Passage from May through October.
Graymor Garden Cottage is a great location for exploration of northern Vancouver Island. Campbell River is located half-way up the Island is wonderfully situated for day trips to Mount Washington to ski in the winter or hike through Paradise Meadows in the summer. The panoramic view from the chairlift is spectacular.
Within easy driving distance you can explore Strathcona and Elk Falls Parks, swim at Miracle Beach and check out numerous woodland walking trails. Whale and bear watching trips depart daily during the summer season and you can even go snorkeling with the salmon. Ocean, lake and river fishing opportunities abound and there are numerous experienced guides available to help you catch the big one.
There are two superb 18 hole golf courses (Storey Creek and Sequoia Springs) and an 18 hole disc golf course just a few minutes drive from the cottage. Visitors of all ages may want to try out the new Indoor Climbing Wall facility just a couple of minutes away. Quadra Island, a 15-minute ferry trip away, offers artists galleries, bicycle touring, and swimming and picnicking at Rebecca Spit.
Closer to home, less than a block away, you can visit the Campbell River Museum, the Maritime Heritage Centre and Discovery Pier. At the Pier you can try your luck fishing for salmon, watch the cruise ships and treat yourself to the biggest & best ice cream cone on the Island. On Sunday mornings from May to October the Pier parking lot transforms into the Pier Street Farmers' Market with fresh produce, seafood, baked goodies and an assortment of local craft items. Fresh salmon, crab, prawns and halibut are usually available from the fishboats moored by the Pier.
Campbell River also offers lots of dining out opportunties with menu choices ranging from casual to fancy. Everything from neighbourhood pubs, seafood specialties to several ethnic offerings.
