This apartment is quite lovely. The owner, Astrid, and her property manager, Fernando, were quite responsive and very, very nice. It's in a wonderful neighborhood, very safe and quiet, with a small football park and track close by (visible from windows). Beautiful wood floors; comfortable beds. It's also close to a very nice boulangerie (well, there were several), and a Franprix supermarket. A couple blocks from Porte Maillot metro/RER station and the Palais de Congres. Also very close to the convenient Air France bus stop (regular "tourist" bus to/from Charles de Gaulle airport. We were a family of four (2 adults, 2 boys, elementary school age) and were more than comfortable. Cooking in was a breeze - with a nice stove, oven and microwave. The one very small downside is that the shower doesn't have much pressure -- but the bath tub is very nice. Enjoy! We certainly did. We only wish we could have stayed longer (we stayed 6 days).Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The apartment is described very well in the VRBO listing.Apartment was clean and everything was in good working order. The elevator is very small, our stroller would not fit in it open and we carried the luggage up the stairs. It was a short walk to the Metro station and a very short walk to the airport bus stop. Also as described it is located in a neighborhood where we felt totally safe at all times of the day and night. We enjoyed many of the shops and restaurants in the area as well. We spent more than a week there seeing the sights of the Paris area as well as a day trip on the high speed train to the Normandy coast. The owner was easy to work with and very cooperative when we needed to stay an extra night as well as giving us info that made the trip from (and then back to) the airport a breeze. We would stay here again as well as recommend it to anyone we know who might be visiting Paris. All in all it was a wonderful trip!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Parc Monceau View on map
A public park established by Phillippe d'Orleans, Duke of Chartres, a cousin of the king, in 1769. It has play areas for children, curved walkways, beautiful statues, and a collection of scaled-down architectural features, or follies — including an Egyptian pyramid, a Chinese fort, a Dutch windmill, and Corinthian pillars.

Bois de Boulogne View on map
The Bois de Boulogne was made into a park by Napoleon III in 1852 and is 2.5 times larger than Central Park in New York. Informally landscaped with open lawns and woodland, it is full of activities on the weekends: biking, jogging, boat rowing, remote control speed boats, picnics, etc. There are thirty-five kilometres of footpaths, eight kilometres of cycle paths and twenty-nine kilometres of riding tracks.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: I'm French, I'm a doctor, and this apartment was our home with my husband and my son until we moved to the US one year ago for my husband's job. We are urban thirty-somethings, we love the parisian lifestyle, and we are looking forward to living there when we get back.
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 17:
We chose this neigborhood because it's within walking distance of wonderful markets, shops and cafes. The nearest subway station leads you directly to the Champs-Elysees, the Concorde, the Tuileries, the Louvre, the Hotel de Ville, the Marais and the Bastille. It's a family-oriented neighborhood, quiet and secure.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
We love the authenticity of the hardwood floors, the layout, and the typical 1930s facade. We get to buy amazing food in some of the best food stores in Paris around the Marché Poncelet. We can walk to a movie in the Palais des Congres, to fresh, warm bread at several boulangeries, to outdoor sitting at various cafes and restaurants, etc. And the Champs-Elysees, the most beautiful street in the world, is 2 subway stops away.
