This condo is our home away from home. We have had homes in Galveston for over 25 years and we think it is better than ever. There are several new restaurants, attractions- Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens the museums near the strand, shopping, fishing ,crabbing, surfing, art walks, Mardi Gras, etc etc,. so it is more fun now than ever. Repairs after Hurricane Ike have not only restored, in many places, but made Galveston better than ever. We often go for just the day , when we can not go for an overnight visit. It is exactly one hour to downtown Houston. We used to be on west beach in a beach home , but love the convenience and security of being in a high rise condo. Plus the amenities make you feel like you are at a 5 star resort. Great view from the 7th floor. The kitchen is equipped with new small appliances( even a blender), new dishes, new cookware, beach themed serving pieces and even a gumbo pot. Every serving piece or cocktail glass you will need for a fun filled happy hour or any meal at the condo. There is a small electric grill on the balcony( all grills must be electric) . We have just added wifi to the unit for laptop computer use and an X BOX for video games.
There is a game room on the third floor with pool, air hockey and foos ball and a big screen tv. Great workout room, sauna, tennis, basketball ,playground and year round heated pool and hot tubs. This place is unbelievable! The listing description was right on, and then some. Susan is awesome to work with. Very helpful before, during and after our stay. She answered all our questions and even went above and beyond by sending some personal recommendations for restaurants. She also provided a huge folder of recommended restaurants and things to do and see. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The finest on the island. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Galveston in stay in luxury.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I had a wonderful time staying in Susan's condo. It was nicely decorated with all the amenities we could ask for. I didn't have to pack "the kitchen sink". :-). The beds were comfortable! The soundproofing was amazing...I could put my infant down for bed in the master bedroom and close the door and you could not hear any noise coming from the living room or balcony (both shared a common wall with master bedroom). This alone was one of my favorite parts since my daughter is such a light sensitive sleeper. The balcony views were incredible and very relaxing to sit and hear the sounds of the ocean and the pool waterfall. We will definitely stay here again for our next Galveston vacation. Susan responds to questions and comments very quickly. Thanks for a wonderful time!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property is beautifully decorated and maintained. There were 6 people in my party, including my mother, husband, and three children. The spacious layout and large balcony gave everyone plenty of room to spread out. During our stay, we enjoyed a fully stocked kitchen, our own washer and dryer, three televisions, video games, wi-fi access, and movies. This condo really feels like a home rather than a rental unit like many others. The beach view is fabulous. Visitors will appreciate the security and amenities (beachfront access, beautiful pools and hot tubs, wonderful fitness center, and coffee bar) of the Palisade Palms. The owner is very fastidious and attentive to all your questions and concerns. I can recommend both this facility and this condo without any reservations. I will definitely use this unit again when I return to the island.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

With that said, I can not take all of the credit. The building facilities and layout is great. I do love the view of the water from every room We are also lucky the beach in front is the widest in the area, kept clean and does not allow cars i like it that the condo is great for families to have fun, or a quiet get away for an individual or couple, or secure and luxurious enough for a group of women to get away for a girls trip . The condo was even better than expected. My wife and I own another condo at the Palisades and needed this condo to help accomodate our entire family (4 children, 6 grandchildren). With the futon being made into a bed in the den, this condo more than provided sufficient bedding. The beds were very comfortable. The arrangement of the condo and the furniture makes the condo seem much larger than it really is. Our entire family (16 in all) shared meals in the condo without feeling cramped at all. Plenty of room at both the dining table inside and at the table on the large patio overlooking the pools and the gulf. No doubt, we will check the availability of this condo in the future when we have more than our condo will accomodate. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone. Palisade Palms is definitely the best condo on Galveston Island. This condo is as good as a 2+ bedroom condo gets. It's really that good. To top it off, the owners are quick to respond to all communications and most helpful in assuring that everything is perfect. This was our second time this year staying at Susan's beautiful condo. We don't normally repeat vacations but this one is worth multiple return visits as it's an easy journey from Austin, yet feels worlds apart. We enjoy Galveston for it's good restaurants and pretty ocean views but it's Palisade Palm that makes it worth the multiple trips. As for the condo, comfortable down bedding, beautifully decorated, all the kitchen cookware you would use at home and laundry. The views from bedrooms, living room and deck are amazing. 7th floor is the best, not too high, not too low. With wifi it's wonderful as you can call the balcony your 'office'. The condo is steps away from the beach so you can boogie board, fish, kit surf or just go for a nice walk on uncrowded beaches. The owner is very easy to work with, quick to respond, making sure every need is met. We'll always return to this condo when in Galveston, book it, you won't regret it!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We can't say enough about our stay at Palisades Palm. Susan has thought of everything to make her home the perfect 'away from home' retreat. Your only regret will be that you have to leave. The pictures don't give justice to the panoramic views you have throughout the condo, which is beautifully decorated. The facilities offer everyone something to do or simply sun by the pool overlooking the ocean. The beach is the quiet side of Galveston so you'll never deal with crowds. It's a wonderful place to relax or be as busy as you want. Be sure to get your fresh fish from Katie's Seafood Market and have a meal at Mosquito Cafe. Galveston is our favorite Texas coastal community and we've traveled the Caribbean, Hawaiian and French Polynesian islands.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Great condo for our family getaway! This was our 6th visit to Galveston and by far our stay here was the best. This condo and facility is fabulous! Situated directly on the beach provided a spectacular view off the balcony overlooking the pools and the beach. My husband and I enjoyed hanging out on the balcony early in the morning, while the kids were snoozing, drinking coffee and watching the pelicans fly by! The condo is very beautiful and comfortable, looks brand new, and is decorated with lots of fun beach artwork. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and blending. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were upscale and spotless. Our teenagers,19 and 17, liked working out in the fitness gym, and playing pool in the game room. We spent most our time outside by the pool and on the beach. The pool area was not crowded and there were always lots of chairs. (We were happily surprised by this and thought it would have been very crowded since this was spring break). The beach in front of the condo was the best we've seen at Galveston and was wide, clean, and secluded. The owner Susan was extremely nice, easy to work with, and very helpful in answerings questions and providing details about the condo. Our family had a great time here and look forward to a return visit.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: My husband and I are native Houstonians. We live near the galleria in Houston, which enables me to often go to the condo for the day. WE love to travel , but enjoy going to Galveston as often as possible. My husband is a cpa. My favorite hobby is nature photography. I love just coming to the condo and taking walks on the beach or having coffee or a glass of wine on the balcony.
