Nestled in palm trees and adjoining Taylor Bay, Etoile de Mer (Star of the Sea) is a light and spacious architect-designed island home that is perfect for gatherings of families or friends.
Lovingly cared for, the house has been completely upgraded since the owners purchased it in 2004 - the entire inside has been painted, the exterior has been re-stuccoed, furniture has been reupholstered, conch shell countertops have been installed in all bathrooms, all bathroom hardware and lights have been replaced, new door hardware has been installed, Georgia Pine floors have been refinished, and in June, 2009, the kitchen was completely renovated into an open kitchen plan. Adding irrigation to almost a full acre of coconut trees, palm trees and bougainveilla surrounded by a sea wall makes Etoile de Mer feels like an oasis. Justifiably, Etoile de Mer is known as one of the most beautiful and unique homes on the island.
Inspired by Caribbean manor homes, Etoile de Mer has a wrap-around veranda for enjoying beautiful sunsets over Taylor Bay and is perfectly situated to catch gentle off-shore breezes through screened doors and windows.
The attention to detail and the ambiance of this island home make it your home away from home rather than "a rental." Large enough for a group of eight with several gathering spots - the screened porch, the gazebo, the verandas and the living room and dining room, the layout of the hosue also offers privacy.
The gentle tides and fine white sands of Taylor Bay offer you an opportunity to wade or swim, snorkel, kayak or simply walk barefoot on the beach or sit in a beach chair for hours. Many guests believe that Taylor Bay is the most beautiful beach they have ever seen.
One of their favorite activities is to float on a raft from one side of the bay to the other on the gentle tide with book, coffee, or wine in hand. The more adventuresome use the kayaks provided at the house and explore the Caribbean at will.
Want to play tennis? Next to Etoile de Mer are private, complimentary clay tennis courts which have just recently been refinished.
In the evening, visit one of the excellent international restaurants just minutes away, grill your favorite foods on the five-burner grill on the pool deck, or cook in beautiful fully-equipped kitchen and then toast the sunset over Sunset Bay. After dinner, stroll the beach, watch satellite television on the flat screen TV, sit on the deck and look at the stars, listen to a CD or simply enjoy the sound of privacy, knowing that you have another beautiful day to enjoy on Taylor Bay.

The Unique Benefits at this Home
Our family loves to gather at the house to create memories. We sit under the gazebo and laugh. We walk on the beach. We sit in Taylor Bay and talk. We float across the bay in rafts. We love the restaurants. The house is large enough to give each of us our own space and quaint enough to feel intimate. Renters feel so at home at Etoile that they tend to re-arrange the furniture! Please don't!!

Dave and I first visited Provo from Colorado with friends in 2004. Completely enamored with Taylor Bay, we joined with a real estate agent and found Etoile de Mer, returning home a little in shock that we had bought a house and had never even considered owning a home in the Caribbean! That's what Taylor Bay can do do you!!
Since then, our entire family has had a love affair with the house, Taylor Bay, and Provo.
Our daughter, Megan, got married at Grace Bay in October 2005. She and our other two children, Aaron and Brianna, return annually with friends.
Our first grandchild, Cooper, was christened on Taylor Bay in November 2008.
Dave and I go to the house every fall and spring for a week to make sure everything is in good shape and we spend at least two weeks at the house every January. We have developed friendships with a group of friends who live on Provo fulltime.
We try to keep the rental rate reasonable because we feel blessed to own such a beautiful home and want to share it with others, which is why Etoile de Mer never feels like a rental.
Dave is an architect and we are always doing things to upgrade the house and keep it in prime condition.

I just wanted to let you know that my group had a wonderful stay at Etoile. It was absolutely amazing! The house was perfect and you have thought of everything imaginable that we would need. We did a lot of cooking and didn't lack for one thing! The set up and location of the house were great. We loved the beach, played tennis almost everyday, and really just enjoyed ourselves. I want to go back already! Thanks again and hope to contact you in the future for another stay!

We absolutely loved our vacation at your villa! It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had...and we still were busy. My husband and I, especially, really loved your house and if I ever had one in the Caribbean, it would be just like yours! We have a picture of your house on our cell phones...to remind us how beautiful it was. I really loved the layout of the house and the breezes were wonderful. I would come back every year if I could! We all loved the privacy of your community. The water was the most beautiful we have ever seen. I have to tell you one of my favorite things about your home. I loved cooking in your kitchen! With the windows open, I felt like I was still having fun outside! Cooking on vacation is something I don't always enjoy, because I feel like it is work. It didn't feel like that at Etoile de Mer. It is just a beautifully designed house. Your manager was really wonderful. She was very helpful and made us feel special. Your house is phenomenal. We had a fantastic time! The location was spot on, the beach was ours alone 99% of the time. We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our honeymoon. Thank you! We had the most wonderful time ever and the house was fabulous! We loved the pool, the screened porch, and the location! It was also wonderful having the tennis courts close by. So great to be in a well-designed house that works beautifully with the trade winds. No need for AC - hooray! We love your poolside gazebo. It's great for an afternoon snooze. And the kayaks! What a lovely home, location, feel. We had a great time.

We got back and I have been working so hard sometimes I wonder if vacation is worth it, but this vacation definitely was worth it. We loved your home (let us know if you ever decide to sell). We had some friends from Provo over and they loved it also. We loved the architecture. We loved the bathroom counter tops! The apartment was really neat, the gazebo was wonderful, the pool a delight. We had stayed at Chalk Sound and had been to Sapodilla Beach but Taylor Bay was wonderful! We had lobster four times and my husband enjoyed your grill so much I fear we will need to get one soon. We got conch from the Turtle Tail area (about 4 feet of water), tipped the shells, harvested them and took them to Etoile and made conch salad and fritters. We, of course, observed the limitation. You are very fortunate to have Etoile and we are very lucky that it was available for our two week vacation. I really love Provo in the summer. Florida is hot and very humid. Provo is hot but hardly any humidity and the constant trade winds…just paradise.

We had a wonderful time in Provo and very much enjoyed our stay at Etoile de Mer. The house is as beautiful as advertised and the pool was fantastic. Taylor Bay felt like our own private beach. The scuba diving in Turks and Caicos was incredible. I dove with Flamingo Divers and I would highly recommend them for any of your future guests. They were simply the best dive operation I have dived with anywhere in the world. Their service was fantastic. You have a beautiful and charming home in Provo, and we enjoyed our stay there very much. We would recommend it to our friends.
