Newaygo house description
The ' Irish Man's Retreat ' was built in 1934 and family owned until 2010. In that year a wonderful man, Tom Donahoe, educator for over thirty years drove by and fell in love with this house's spectcualr sunsets, ice fishing coves, long streches of pontooning waterways and the friendy amosphere of the community of Croton. He immediately purchased the home and insisted that his friends and family visit and stay with him in his new found paradise. Tom repeatedly told his visitors that if something happened to him he wanted others to enjoy this magical spot he had found! His family is now following his wishes and renting it to all vacationers who would like to experience the beauty of the Croton Dam resevoir.

This wonderfully cozy place has everything you could possibly imagine needing for a relaxing, comfortable, fun vacation! Kitchen had all the necessities and then some. Comfortable & clean...wonderful people..we felt so welcome & wished our stay was longer. Plenty to do with boating, fishing, relaxing outdoors & of course, roasting marshmallows..even ping pong and Foosball in the basement. Tubing down the river was so fun..we will definitely will take the long trip next time :-)

Wonderful Summer Retreat
Wonderful Summer Retreat
We had a wonderful week boating, fishing, eating and just relaxing with our teenage boys. Owner, Jeff provided more than we expected and was very personable and accommodating. Place was clean, all bedding is provided, grocery and shops are very close by and the views from this property looking down onto water are beautiful. Caught the biggest perch we have ever seen right off the dock too! We will rent here again.
