  My family stayed at this condo during spring break for 12 days. We have a seven year old daughter and having the extra space and kitchen, washer/dryer facilties were very much appreciated! I hung out in the kitchen a lot as it is sooo beautiful and much nicer than ours at home! Also, we loved the super comfortable king sized bed, so much better than our bed at home. It made for great relaxing sleeps! The photos are absolutely accurate. The furnishing are beautiful, wish I had some of the artwork/pictures at home! Loved the p/ocean view overlooking a large grassy field area. It seemed to be a lot quieter than the condos facing the interior courtyards. The supermarked across the road (you can look at it from the lanai) was very handy to get fresh groceries every couple days! I can't forget to leave suggestion for others: you must visit Duke's restaurant on site and have the Hula pie. It is delicious, had it a few times! A great place to stay and I would not hesistate to recommend to a friend. Thanks Barbara for a great holiday!

  I really love this property, I called it "home". It is really comfortable and clean, and also with very nice and modern decoration. I will absolutely stay in this property again when I travel to Maui again. The owner is very very nice and friendly. Thanks for everything!

  We had a great stay at #540. The Unit is spectacular. It's spacious, loaded with deluxe appliances, the kitchen has everything we needed, and the bathrooms were luxurious. The unit is fully loaded with electronics - flat screen TV's, blue ray dvds, and wifi that worked perfectly. The activity closet was loaded with fun stuff - beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkels kits, sand toys, even kids life jackets. The resort itself is gorgeous. Our kid couldn't get enough of the pools, waterfalls, waterslides, kid’s water features, and hot tubs. We love the “Beach Walk' that connects Honua Kai to Whaler’s Village. We ate at Dukes a few times (also we cooked a lot here:) ), and the food was yummy, prompt, and priced well considering you are in Maui. Barbara is great to work with and Michelle (on site manager) was really helpful. Would highly recommend this to any family & friends, and are already planning our next trip.

  This was a great unit in Honua Kai. Great value since it's not one of those expensive oceanfront units, but it still has a great view of the resort and a partial ocean view. The condo is very well stocked with beach supplies (beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling set, sand toys, boogie boards) which could easily run you $40+/day to rent. For those who need to do some work on vacation, the unit has its own wifi with pretty reasonable speed. I was able to get 5mb/s downstream and 1mbs upstream. Barbara and her property manager are great to work with. Very responsive over email/ phone and happy to answer any questions that you may have. The resort itself is also amazing. This is the newest resort in the Kaanapali area, so everything feels modern and well kept. Pools are spacious and very kid-friendly. Plenty of hot tubs too. There are also a number (10+) of premium gas grills on the grounds that guests can use. Easy access to a gourmet market (located in the lobby but kind of expensive) or Times Supermarket (about an 8 minute walk). Overall, I would highly recommend this unit and resort, especially if you have kids.

  My husband and I had a wonderful two week stay at Honua Kai condo #540. We had stayed twice before at Honua Kai but never through owner. Barbara was very easy to work with and kept us well informed about our visit. With renting through Barbara we enjoyed parking the car in the garage and not having to use valet service (and the car was not sitting in the hot sun). We spent more time on the beach because there were beach chairs and umbrellas in the condo and my husband did not have to bring his snorkel gear with as it was also provided. There was also a savings with not paying the $25 daily resort fee. I thought I would miss the daily maid service, but it was nice not worrying about when they would come in and not having to put things away you did not want out. The photos were very acccurate of the condo. It was well maintained. We really enjoyed our breakfast on the lanai every morning. We were so relaxed after two weeks in Maui. I would definitely recommend staying at this condo. And of course the resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained. We discovered The Fish Market just down the road from Time grocery store. The fish was fresh daily and they would suggest how to prepare it. They also had the best fish sandwich. We also enjoyed and would recommend the Old Lahaina Luau. And the Aloha Mixed Plate next to the luau is a great inexpensive place to eat (for a change). We will definitely be returning and staying in this condo.

  Wow!! This is a REALLY nice condo in a REALLY nice complex. Pictures on the site are accurate but really don't do it justice. It is beautiful. We stayed for 8 days celebrating our 30th anniversary and had a great time. Everything was just as described and made the trip better than our expectations. The personal outfitting of the condo, which includes: snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs (these are great), beach towels, and dvd's really make this a special place. A few specific thoughts for those of you who like us were new to VRBO: 1. Barb (owner) and Michelle (manager) are great to work with. Very straightforward and prompt in answering questions. 2. We walked the entire Kaanapali boardwalk, north and south of Black Rock and took a look at all the hotels and condos. NONE of them match the Honua Kai or the value you'll get from Barb. 3. *****most importantly***** do not tell your friends about this place-----it will book up for the rest of the decade and we'll never get back in.

  The resort is located in convenient proximity to Lahaina and Whaler's village, where one can dine, hang out in the evening, and souvenir shop. The beach provides nice snorkeling and with white sandy shore. The condo owner has thoughtfully stocked the condo with nice beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. And a lot of instructions and recommendation to make your vacation as worry and hassle free as possible. Renting from an owner rather than the resort means that the use of front desk is not available but we didn't feel deprived AT ALL - local property manager was available to help us with any questions. We loved our vacation and having rented this condo played a big part in the positive experiance.

  Everything at Honua Kai is amazing and top notch. You will not be disappointed. This condo was as described in the listing and the pics are accurate. Barbara was easy to work with and responsive. It was great to have boogie boards, sand toys, a cooler, beach towels and those amazing tommy bahama chairs! Don't forget to go snorkeling at Kapalua Bay (easy, calm, ideal for kids) and eat at The Gazebo (mmm...miss those macadamia nut pancakes!). Both are super close to the condo. We can't wait to come back!

  My wife and I recently celebrated our honeymoon in Maui and stayed in this condo for 5 days. Our experience was nothing short of amazing. The location of this condo is ideal. The condo itself is great; super cozy bed, comfortable furniture, and a full kitchen with all the necessary cooking utensils. The resort is brand new, has everything you need, and is right on the board walk and beach. We very much enjoyed staying in such a relaxing resort on the quiet end of Kaanapali. I would recommend your condo to anyone planning on staying in Maui. Thanks, Barbara!

  Thank you for helping my family have a wonderful time on Maui! Not only was the condo itself and the resort perfect for our family, but Barbara and Michelle were so helpful. The beautiful condo was stocked...including everything we needed: 4 boogies boards, 2 chairs, 2 umbrellas, 2 great snorkel sets, a Smashball set and even sand toys. We ate breakfast everyday on the roomy lanai and really enjoyed opening the folding lanai doors all day to extend the living space. While there was plenty of room with the king bed and the queen pull-out, there was even a Fold-a-Mat that one of our kids preferred to sleep on:-) We loved the location being in North Ka'anapali Beach! It is a quieter location than the main Ka'anapali area which suited us...only a 5 minute drive away from Black Rock and Whaler's Village. Our favorite beach was Napili (10 minute drive) where we watched and snorkeled with 3 feeding sea turtles at sunset one night and JT Fleming for our wave-loving kids. We highly recommend the Pineapple Grill in Kapalua (they have the best upside-down pineapple cake ever). Maui Surfboards across the street was very convenient and gave us a great deal on a couple more snorkel rentals (they negotiated their listed prices:-). Times Market was all we needed for groceries and it's a 5 minute walk. We also recommend the Gemini snorkel-sail to Honolua Bay. Thanks Barbara for your hospitality...we enthusiastically recommend this property and location!

Cancellation policy:

RENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS: Honua Kai Resort and Spa, Lahaina, Maui. Condo: Hokulani Building, #540: 1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3 P.M. LOCAL AND CHECK-OUT IS 11 A.M. LOCAL. Early check-ins or late check-outs are with prior permission only. 2. This is a NON SMOKING unit. 3. Pets are not permitted under any conditions. 4. We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. 5. DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT- A damage/reservation deposit of $500 is required to confirm the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met: a. No damage is done to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear. b. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay. c. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in dumpster, and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned. d. All keys are left on the kitchen table and unit is left locked. e. All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure. f. No linens are lost or damaged. g. NO Early check-in or late check-out, (unless by prior arrangement). h. The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner), the local law enforcement, or the security company employed by Honua Kai. 1. PAYMENT – Payment (of total rental contract amount) is due 60 days before arrival. Please make payments in the form of traveler's checks, bank money orders, cashiers checks, personal checks (made payable to Barbara Bell) or via PayPal. 2. CANCELLATIONS - A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. 3. GREATER THAN ONE WEEK RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS – Renters who book for more than one week must cancel one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in. These renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least ninety (90) days prior to check-in. 4. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests per condominium is limited to four (4) persons. 5. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE - While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate however is available at an additional rate. We provide beach towels for use during your stay and have a washer and dryer in the condo. 6. RATE CHANGES - Rates subject to change without notice. 7. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS - Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in. 8. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS - Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. 9.HURRICANE OR STORM POLICY - No refunds will be given unless: a. The National Weather Service orders mandatory evacuation in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area" and/or b. A "mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning" area of residence of a vacationing guest. The day that the National Weather Service orders a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning," area, we will refund: a. Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered, b. Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten their stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and c. Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the "Hurricane Warning" period. By Signing Below, I agree to all terms and conditions of this agreement.

100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
