This was a fantastic accommodation. The beds were more comfortable than any hotel I've stayed in. The condo was huge, extremely clean, and very bright. There was a beautiful beach right across the street that never seemed to be too crowded. The pool and tennis courts were well maintained and the grounds were immaculate.I highly recommend this condo to anyone travelling to Kona.

My group (3 adults) stayed at this condo for 10 days. The location is central to all activities...a great starting place for all our adventures and central to any shopping or dining. The kitchen was clean and well stocked for those days when we wished to dine in, the beds were VERY comfortable and it was so nice to have a comfortable place to sleep after a hard day of play! We had plenty of room in the condo to spread out and relax when "home". White Sands Beach was beautiful, but all other beaches were easy to access and there is a great snorkel beach just up the street at mile marker 5. We are definitely making plans for a return trip! Thanks for sharing this comfortable home with us!

Nice condo but not kid friendly

The condo was very well set up and the pictures are quite accurate. The condo had everything we were looking for, and it was great to be able to spread out. In particular, we appreciated that the kitchen was so well stocked, and that there was beach gear available for us to use. It was clean, and we really appreciated arriving to a fruit basket. However, we wouldn't have booked here if we had known in advance that our infant daughter was not allowed in the pool (even when wearing swimmers' diapers). It was a really big disappointment to arrive and find out that you have to be toilet trained to go in the pool. While the other guests at the condo complex were all very nice, this is not a family friendly complex. The majority of the other guests were senior citizens, so be warned if you are thinking of bringing children - there were no other kids around. The condo has very strict rules about all sorts of things, including when the pool/hot tub can and cannot be used. In addition, the pictures of the White Sands beach (above) are no longer accurate. The beach is very, very rocky and difficult to get into (impossible while holding an infant!) with strong rip tides. We only went there once and didn't go in the water as we would have had to scramble over large boulders to get to the water. The beach 2 miles down the street near the Farmer's Market was much better and had great snorkling. We enjoyed our time in Kona and at this condo but really wish we had been told some of this in advance.

Owner response:It is true this condo, like all other condos, has house rules. White Sands Beach is also called Magic Sands Beach by locals because the sand normally disappears from about December through the end of March. During the summer, the beach will be back and beautiful as ever. We regret you didn't get to experience the beach with maximum sand. Hopefully, you still enjoyed the beauty and diversity this island has to offer.

We had a wonderful time in Hawaii. We felt right at home in your condo. We loved the fact that the beach across the street was so convenient. Also, it was nice to have so much room to spread out. With 4 people, we needed space so we didn't feel "closed in" like in a hotel room. We are even thinking about going back next summer. Regards, Linda

Aloha! We loved our stay. Location: This condo was Ideally located especially for our white sands and snorkeling adventures. The location was also close enough to heart of downtown but far enough away so that it provided perfect peace and tranquility. The Condo: Lovely. Well appointed, comfortable, quiet, lovely pool, and jacuzzi too. The People: friendly staff, and friendly other owners. Aug 2009: Our family enjoyed your condo very much. It was quiet, the kitchen had new appliances and tile, it was very clean, the lanai was huge and we ate most meals there. Very enjoyable stay and we will stay again.

My husband and I with our three boys visited Kona at the end of June and loved your condo. It was roomy, clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff too. The pool, tennis courts and the beach right across the street were great fun for the whole family! The complex was handy to downtown and to snorkle beach. We also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and all of the beach accessories...we could pack up the cooler, snorkle gear,grab the sand chairs and play all day then come home and BBQ dinner. It was wonderful and we hope to stay there again! We've already recommended it to friends.

Ourselves and another couple spent 16 days in Kona. We fully enjoyed our time in the Condo. The pool and BBQ facilities were used daily. All the other guests and the Condo personnel were very friendly and informative. We look forward to our next time there.

Our stay in Kona was in March 2008. We had never been to the Big Island. We loved it. The condo worked out great for us. We used the pool everyday and loved going to the beach to see sunsets, volleyball and waves. People in the complex were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay there and the easy access to everything.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. We had planned to do nothing more than lie on the beach for the majority of our vacation and we did just that. The unit was just as we had remembered it and we were very,very comfortable. We sincerely appreciate the opportuity that you gave us to stay there once again. Our family travelled to Kona from Washington state to attend the wedding of our son Trevor to his beautiful bride Kasey. The condo was very comfortable - we didn't ahve to use the air conditioning - just kept the fans going the whole time. It was nice to be off the highway so there were no road noises but close enough for a few minute drive into town to eat and shop. It was great having the washer and dryer also. Again, we had a great time and really enjoyed the use of the condo - if we come back we will know where to stay!! THANK YOU!!!

Aloha This is a great home away from home! We have stayed at White Sands Village before and this condo was the best! It's quiet, very clean and had great ammenities...especially nice was the beach equipment and coolers. It is in a perfect location for snorkeling, boogie boarding and just relaxing. Jameson's restaurant is across the street and if you ask they will feed the eels that live under their deck. Really cool! The food is pretty good too. ALoha, What a wonderful and economical rental in a great location. It was very refreshing to know that we had a completely equiped Kitchen to prepare meals in adding to the great savings thatwe enjoeyd by renting this condo. Location was fantastic and made it easy to satisfy all who were on this vacation. Highly recomend this to anyone traveling on a budget. Great value for your money. Mom and I went for a bit of walking and picked up some dead coral that looked really nice and found a shoreline access path that lead you to a lava flow beach. Did shopping at Wal-Mart,and Hilo Hattie's after snorkeling at Kahalu'u Beach. Went to the Rogal Kona Resort Luau. The luau was a great presentation of various Polynesian dances. Most of us confused poi with coconut pudding. The Kahlua pork was excellent even though it was all-you-can-eat night, one serving did all of us in. I made an attempt at surfing, took a plane ride to the volcano. A big Mahalo for letting us use this most humble abode. Many more happy, sunny tropical days to you!

With 2 little girls, the pool was the big hit for them. Second would be Pu'uhonua Honaunau, the Place of Refuge because we saw several turtles. A nice, clean,easy to find rental. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Wow! We love the Big Island and this condo was great! Thanks for all your help and prompt emails. I feel like we're old friends. The location of this condo is splendid! Loved the easy access to White Sands Beach and spent the morning and evening in the water swimming laps and snorkeling or watching the sunset while jumping the waves. Loved listening to all the birds, watching the geckos, and gosh, all those lovely plants. What a nice complex! Thanks for helping make our first trip to the Big Island absolutely great.

We've enjoyed our week here in your great condo. Towels and boogie boards and coolers were great to have. We went snorkeling at Kahalu'u Beach at high tide and at low tide. Lots of fish and I'd recommend everyone to try it. Magic Sands across the street is probably the best place (close) to boogie board a really fun beach. We took a plane tour (Big Island Air) around he island and recommend that. We could have spent longer here. Never made it to Hilo or uop to the Northeast part of the island. We'll just have to come back :-) We are also headed to Maui for a week and Honolulu before returning to our farm in North "Central Kansas.

Thank you for the use of your beautiful home. It has everything we need and more! It was so nuce to wake to the sound of birds and drink our coffee on the lanai while the morning unfolded. We spent the first day here going to the volcano-saw an active lava flow and then came back via Hilo so really drove around the island. Yesterday we headed out to the City of Refuge and snorkeled at "two step"-it was incredible! I felt like I was swimming in an aquarium! The water was so clear and we saw tons of different kids of fish-lots of turtles and a moray eel.

Mahalo!! Enjoyed the stay very much, an adventure. This island has everything. We found a beach about 35 miles north of here at Hapuna. Snorkeling is great just south of here about 1-2 miles at the surfing lagoon. For the more rugged individual, South Point is a picturesque place where a 4 X 4 is needed to truly enjoy the location. Thank you and hope to do this again.

My name is Megan and I'v from Albany, N.Y. I'm 9 years old. My birthday was Jan. 10th and for my birthday I came here. I love it here. I went to Hapuna Beach, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, the volcano and swam and snorkeled alot. I'm her aunt from Humboldt County. My sister and I and our girls spent 9 days here. We loved the area and the condo was great. Whoever cleans it does an awesome job. It was nice to have so many extras to use. Lisa loved the bag of sand toys and the Pooh movie. Lisa is 4.

We had a great time. The little things add up to a lot of homey comforts. Tennis balls and racquets, beach mats, 2 tv's, video and book library and a kitchen stocked with the basics meant a lot. The condo is well ventilated and of so quiet-a real plus. Thanks for letting us use your condo.

Loved, loved your beaufiful and well furnished condo. A week is just not enough. All we did was run around-now we need a week of resting but instead have to return to California. Aloha, We arrived on the Big Island on the 8th and speant 2 days in Hilo. Very nice there but rainy.When we got here we were pleasantly surprised at how nice your place is. You have everything to go with it. We didn't worry about anything. We were a little apprehensive and didn't know what to expect. At the Hilo house there were no extras. You have thought of everything from coolers to boogie boards to lawn chairs. White Sands is great for boogie boarding. I've done it almost everyday and I feel like a kid again.

We were so fortunate to have awesome weather and calm seas. Geat kayaking to Captain Cook Monument. Lots of dolphins. It's hard to be on our way back to the cold weather but we can look forward to coming back again! This is the 4th time on the island and we have a better time each time we're here.

"This has been One of the Best Weeks of My Life and it's in no small part due to the location, size and quality of your condo. After long days of volcano exploration, shopping, snorkeling, sailing and beach combing, it was always a relief to come back to condo #228,take a warm shower in your large shower and sleep in a comfy bed.
