Coastal Karma, Luxury 5 Bedrooms, Above Ground Pool, Spa
- Minimum stay:2-4 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Just a minute's walk from the beach, Coastal Karma is a beautiful European-style house just right for your St. Augustine vacation. We've got a hot tub, pool, balcony, fenced grassy yard, and all the space your group needs for a great Florida getaway!
Coastal Karma has 5 bedrooms, plus a bonus room that sleeps one more. We have 3½ baths, a big covered patio with a grill, and even some peek-a-boo views of the ocean from the kitchen and dining area. This is a luxurious but very comfortable place to stay, and we invite you to make it your home base when you come to the northeastern Florida coast!
Bring the kids' Big Wheels and sidewalk chalk, because there's plenty of room to play in our backyard and on the patio. Our aboveground pool offers a splash of pure refreshment on a balmy Florida day, while the hot tub is a great way to limber up first thing in the morning and relax tired muscles late at night! Add the ocean into the mix, and you have nonstop water fun for the whole group.
You'll want to stay outdoors long into the evening, so pick up some burgers or fresh seafood at the market and plan to grill out at least once while you're here. Our new grill is easy to use and highly addictive, so if you're looking to economize a bit on all that eating out, we have one solution right here! (The other one is our kitchen, which will make you feel as though you're on the set of a cooking show!)
When it's time to go indoors, you'll be delighted by the breeziness of silent ceiling fans supplementing the central air-conditioning and the comfortable décor welcoming you to a place of relaxation. The main living and dining areas are on the second floor, but the ground floor contains 3 bedrooms and the bonus room with a futon sofa, TV, and foosball table.
One of the 1st-floor bedrooms includes an en-suite bath with shower and tub option. This room contains a queen-sized bed, soft carpeting, and a door right out to the patio. Of the other 2 bedrooms on this floor, one other also contains a queen-sized bed, plus a TV, carpeting, and direct patio access. The other offers 2 twin beds in an airy, carpeted room. A full bathroom is convenient to both of these bedrooms, with dual vanities and a bathtub/shower combination.
Travel upstairs and you find yourself in our luxurious living room, complete with a fireplace and elegant hearth, HDTV, leather sofa, travertine floor, and access to the balcony with lovely views of the countryside. Decorative pillars frame this room, which leads directly into the formal dining room with chandelier and wet bar.
The kitchen is breathtaking, with state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, tile floors, marble countertops, a breakfast bar as well as an informal breakfast table in a sunny nook. We've stocked the cupboards with all the equipment you need to prepare and serve a feast for the whole group (plus friends!), and you'll find all the time-savers you rely on as well: microwave, coffeemaker, ice and water in the fridge door, and of course the dishwasher!
But your favorite part of Coastal Karma may just be the master suite, with its heavenly king-sized bed, TV, French doors leading out to the patio (with glimpses of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean!), and en-suite bath with dual vanities, a garden Jacuzzi, walk-in shower, travertine floor and even a chandelier. Ah, what bliss!
You'll also find another bonus room on this floor, with 2 futon sleepers and a big TV. (Teens and tweens, this room is calling your name!) A half-bath and a big laundry room complete the 2nd-storey layout -- and you'll find all of the linens and towels you need for every bed and bath waiting for you here, fresh and soft. Pack light this trip!
When you stroll out onto the covered second-floor balcony, with its smooth brick floor and comfortable lounge chairs, you can survey the neighborhood, gaze down at the backyard and pool, and count the stars at midnight. There is such a relaxed atmosphere here, you will feel the stress melt away and you'll be ready for another vacation.

Over all the Home was great for a large Family Vacation. The carpets need to be replaced NOW. Elevator did not work during our stay but we would have used it only a few times. The staff was great! The Location was close to perfect. Would consider renting
again.Owner response: Hi Jorge - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. I apologize for the carpet maintenance issues. The elevator does not work, and we do not advertise it any more. I have already contacted my property manager to get these fixed. I realize that this is a beach house. However, for the extremely high cleaning fee you charged, I would have expected that at least spots on the carpet be cleaned.Owner response: Hi Byrnes - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. I want to apologize for the cleaning and smell issues. This is not acceptable and not up to my standards. I am personally emailing you a discount for this. I am in discussion with the house keeping manager about this. Again, please accept my sincere apology for this as it is not acceptable. It is our goal to provide a wonderful vacation experience. You and your family are welcome back any time. Thank you again. Steve Milo, VacationRentalPros. com 904.707.1487

The house needs some major maitenance. Many things were rusted, beach side exterior lights didn't work, clocks in master bedroom didn't work, cloth dryer didn't work, stereo didn't work, etc..Owner response: Hi Rafael - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. I apologize again for the maintenance items. We are discussing this with the owner and will be making more repairs. It is our goal to provide a wonderful vacation experience. We all loved the location--close to the beach, and not far from amenities. The house, however, had some issues. Specifically, the septic tank backed into the house and had to be pumped out around midnight, we had some other maintenance issues, and three bathrooms for a house advertised to accommodate 20 people are insufficient. We liked a number of the features of the home, however, including the porches, and the large common room.Owner response: Hi Betsy - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. I apologize again for the maintenance item with the septic tank and reacted as soon as we knew. It is our goal to provide a wonderful vacation experience. We spent a great week with our grandchildren and their parents. Everything was delightful. We hated to leave at the end of the week. The beach is very private, the waves great for body surfing. just enough wind for kite flying.

The only problem was that some light switches don't turn on the lights in the rooms so you stumble around in the dark looking for a lamp to turn on. One ceiling fan in the living room didn't work. The VCR player in the living room didn't have a connection to the TV. The child protection gates at the top of the spiral staircase and on the deck leading to the front parking and highway are missing so we had to improvise. The wireless internet came in handy for the many laptops we brought along. It was a dream vacation that we would recommend to anyone who has a large group. There is plenty of room for air mattresses for the grandkids who want to sleep together according to age groups.Owner response: Hi Roger - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. I appreciate the feedback on the maintenance items and will discuss this with operations. It is our goal to provide a wonderful vacation experience. You and your family are welcome back any time. WE LOVED OUR STAY AT THE BEACH HOUSE AT FLAGLER BEACH. IT HAD A BEAUTIFUL VIEW AND THE CHILDREN ALL LOVED THE BEACH. MY ONLY REGRET WAS THAT THE DOWNSTAIRS IS NOT OPEN TO THE UPSTAIRS. MADE SOME OF OUR FAMILY FEEL SEPARATED FROM THE REST OF US. BUT OVERALL WE LOVED OUR TIME THERE AND WILL RPOBABLY GO BACK AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.Owner response: Hi Patty - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. While our overall stay was pleasant and we enjoyed the house with our family reunion, there are several issues that need to be mentioned.

Firstly as you probably are aware, the house is in great need of some overall general maintenance. The air conditioning does not keep up with the heat in the afternoons and even drawing the shades across the West side does not help that much.

Only one of the ceiling fans worked and several of the light bulbs in those fixtures were burned out. There were water leaks in at the stool between the two bedrooms and the hot water heater in the lower apartment has been seriously leaking for a long time.

The built in micro-wave in the upper kitchen does not work and it was also obvious that the house had not been sprayed for roaches for a while. The outside back porch lights were broken and hanging down and several pieces of the soffit covering had been blown away. Several spindles on the decking rail are rotted at the top and bottom and need to be replaced.

A previous user had melted the siding and window sill on the deck, but we could not get the grill to heat up enough to grill hamburgers.

There was a considerable amount of mold in the lower apartment. All the toilets both upper and lower have flushing problems.

The washers and dryers are so old that they simply cannot do the job in a single cycle. The dryers take two or three cycles to dry even the smallest loads of wash.

We were told that there was no internet service so we did not bring our computers for business, but there is internet service available and it works very well. One family member did bring a computer and could connect at the dinning room table with ease.

We all enjoyed the location and the easy access to the beach area. The maintenance issues were annoying but we worked around them and as mentioned had a wonderful family reunion.

Billie Doell
Owner response: Hi Billie - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. I apologize for some of the maintenance issues. I have already contacted operations to fix it. It is our goal to provide a wonderful vacation experience. The house has a beautiful location right on the beach and has a great wrap-around porch. While the inside of the house was clean, it was definitely obvious the house is older and has carpet stains and a decent amount of bugs. The kitchen is small (especially for a house that sleeps 18-20!) and the appliances and cookware left a lot to be desired (even keeping in mind that it's a vacation home and nothing will be anywhere close to top of the line!); a few appliances didn't even work. The couch on the top floor does NOT fold out into a bed. The people at VRP were fabulous, but the house left a lot to be desired.Owner response: Hi Samantha - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. It is our goal to provide a wonderful vacation experience. I apologize for the kitchenware and the carpet stains. We are professionally cleaning the carpet again. We are also upgrading the kitchenware. You and your family are welcome back any time. Thank you again. Steve Milo, VacationRentalPros. com 904.707.1487

About the owner: My name is Steve Milo and I stay in Vacation Rental Homes when I travel both domestically and abroad. I own several vacation rental homes and listen carefully to our guests and their feedback! Our greatest compliment is when our guests refer our web site to their friends and relatives. AND, now I am managing other people's properties in St Augustine Beach, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast and Ponte Vedra Beach. Our guests and their great 'word of mouth' have helped us expand to over 500+ vacation rentals. We booked over 10,000 rentals and received over 3,000 guest reviews in 2011. You can find some of these by going to search engines and typing in Steve Milo or 'Vacation Rental Pros' . Thank you!
Why the Owner Chose St. Augustine:
And the best part of it all is the location. You're within a short car ride of historic downtown St. Augustine, the oldest city in America filled with pedestrian walkways with shops, cafes and first class restaurants. We are also close to Daytona Beach and the Daytona speedway and museum. We are also only a 1 1/2 hour drive to Orlando and Disney World/Universal/Sea World as well as 1 1/2 hour to the Kennedy Space Center. Our rental is also a short car ride to Ponte Vedra Beach and PGA golf Course and TPC as well as Jacksonville with the brand new St John's Town Center (with a Costco), Avenue Mall and River Front Arcade. There is also a minor league baseball team and a professional football team and stadium.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The beach is wide and unspoiled here by large crowds. Kids will spend hours exploring, and their parents and grandparents will love discovering new areas to relax and reconnect If you're ready for uncrowded beaches, balmy weather, clear skies, and Florida's natural wildlife, come visit us today!
