We were very disappointed with the condo condition. It definitely needs some work. Panels in the blinds were missing. We had to replace the air conditioner filter because there was a musty smell and we discovered there were two additional old filters left<br/> in the utility closet that were filthy. The furniture was dusty. Whoever the last guest was that paid a cleaning fee should have it refunded. There was no icemaker in the refrigerator and the bedding on the bed in the master bedroom was old and faded. The<br/> view was great and we could see it much better when my husband cleaned the sliding glass doors. The rug in the master bath was faded. The bathroom tissue holder in the master bath was broken. The walls in the master bath had water stains. The balcony had not<br/> been cleaned in quite some time. There were cobwebs and dirt dobber mounds. The outdoor furniture was a big disappointment - dirty and the cushions were flat and faded. We were not prepared for the rocky beach! The condo was nice but I had to do some cleaning myself when we checked in. I was disturbed to find a room key under the welcome mat. My wife found it impossible to navigate the rocks to get to the beach. It took 3 mornings to figure out the settings on the toaster because they had been rubbed off due to age and use. The frying pan is so bent that you have to prop it up so it touches the element. The bed was so hard I had to purchase a cushioned bed cover to sleep on it. I understand that these units are "rentals" but it sure wouldn't take much to turn it into a great rental unit. A very nice location. Check in and check out were inconvenient. Furniture needs updating. Absolutely no supplies were included, not even toilet paper! Usually these units are very well supplied and you leave them with as much as you found. While the location is beautiful, the property is "worn" and in need of refurbishing. It was disappointing to not find things listed on website present in property including automatic ice maker, tv in second bedroom, smooth top range. Microwave is so small as to be useless. The location was lovely with a spectacular view. The pool is beautiful and spotlessly maintained, and the staff in the community is just wonderful. The accommodations were very comfortable, although there was a broken chair and table with notes from a previous tenant still in the unit, and the unit's carpeting was in poor shape. There are not a lot of restaurants close by which makes for a peaceful environment, but if you wish to eat out, there is a bit of driving involved. The beach itself was only wide enough to walk a couple of hours a day; because of erosion it is very rocky in the area. If you are a day long beach bum, it's not the place for you (we just spent more time by the pool and really enjoyed it). However, we are glad we came and would do it again. It is a nicer experience overall than the property we have rented in the past closer to St. Augustine.
