  We stayed there for 4 days after New Years. A very close drive to town, and about 10-15 mins to Whiteface. There was 10 people in our part and we had ample room. The views from the chalet, and the gourmet kitchen were the highlights. The owner was very responsive, and helpful.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  It was better than expected. We were a group of 11 adults and 4 kids. Everybody had his space in the house. Kids made their headquarters downstairs with the ping pong table and all the games. The surrounding were perfect since some of the kids didn't like the mountain so much because they were too small and they enjoyed using the sled in the ramp. It was awesome. God let us have a white, white, white Christmas. We are from the tropics and a bunch of people in our party had not had the experience of seeing or touching snow before. They were amazed. Peggy made us comfortable even when our first check was lost in the mail. Thanks...

  Was lucky to have the opportunity to book this house while a (very) large group of us was ending a race in Lake Placid. We had 2 groups of 12 and I was scrambling to find ample lodging for us all... then I got in touch with Peggy, the owner, and booked this beautiful property! The kitchen and common areas are very large and accommodating with a well stocked (pots, pans, the works) chef's kitchen. We enjoyed the working fireplace in the living room and the washer/dryer downstairs (we were coming from an all night race so having clean laundry was excellent). There were 12 of us traveling (all adults) and we easily fit into the house. The bedrooms are comfortable and well sized with great character. Where this house worked well for a large group of friends, I could see this house also being appropriate for a group with children as well as there was one room devoted to single beds and there is a game space with a ping-pong table. The house was extremely clean and not too difficult to find. You would definitely need a car to get around since the property is located on an unpaved back road - but it is in very close proximity to "downtown" Lake Placid. We hope to visit Lake Placid again soon and stay longer!

  My family had a great weekend at Camp Redhouse. Great location. Just minutes from skiing and town. Fantastic views of Whiteface and other mountains. So many comfortable beds to choose from and everything so clean. A great kitchen for cooking a feast. Brand new washer and dryer. Perfect ping pong table for our weekend-long tournament! Can't ask for more!

  We would highly recomend this rental. We went up to Lake Placid with 3 other families for a ski weekend at White Face. The rental was more beautiful than the pictures. The picture window in the living room had a stunning view of the mountains. It was plenty big enough for a large group. There were 4 bedrooms with queen beds and a bunkroom with 6 single beds. All of the mattresses were comfortable. There were plenty of bathrooms for all-4 1/2 all together. The showers were clean and large. We stayed in for dinners to enjoy the house and take advantage of the huge gourmet kitchen. It was well supplied and had plenty of room for all to eat. The fireplace was cozy and worked well, with plenty of wood in the garage. Everyone enjoyed the ping pong table in the finished rec room in the lower level. The rental was close to Whiteface Mountain for skiing, and the town of Lake Placid for some great shopping for the women. The owners were easy to work with. We would definitely rent this house again, and rent from the owners again.
