This small island cottage is the perfect choice for small families or couples looking to get away without breaking the bank. Situated in a quiet neighborhood near the bay, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Ocean City’s great beaches and boardwalk.
WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT HERE: There’s fenced-in side and back yards with lawn furniture, and if parking on the street is hard to come by, you can fit up to 3 cars out back. Beach chairs and umbrella are stocked in the shed (just in case you forgot to shlep yours from home!) Inside, a new coat of paint has freshened up all the rooms, and the hardwood floors have been restored to their original luster. New tile has been laid in the entryway and kitchen. Other details about the place:
LIVING ROOM: The living room and dining area are well lit thanks to west-facing windows that pour in the afternoon sun. An over-sized couch and chair are perfect for curling up with a good book or watching a movie after a long day at the beach. TV, DVD, VCR and wireless Internet are all available in the cottage.
KITCHEN: While it definitely won’t win any awards in the size department, the small kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, cups, utensils and everything else you need for a whipping up a quick breakfast for the kids before heading out to the beach in the morning, or serving up some take-out from one of the fabulous eateries in town. (Menus for many of them are in a drawer in the living room). The kitchen table seats up to 4 people, or you can move out to the dining area in the living room, where the table can be opened up to seat 6.
BED/BATH: The cottage has 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, and comfortably sleeps 6. On most evenings, the southerly breeze flowing through the house usually cools the day’s heat, but each bedroom does have its own window AC unit, as well as a wall unit in the living room. (There is also a ceiling fan in the living room, as well as in the middle bedroom). Each bedroom has a bureau, nightstand, and closet with hangers and hampers; we supply the bedspreads, pillows, mattress pads and blankets, but you will need to bring your own sheets, pillowcases and towels. If you need to run a quick load of laundry, there’s a washer and dryer just off the kitchen.
MEMORIES: Ocean City has been a part of our life for 3 generations. My grandparents owned an Italian restaurant and produce shop here in the 1920’s, and my parents lived in town much of their married life. I have very fond memories of growing up here, riding bikes around town, taking in concerts at the Music Pier, playing mini golf on the boardwalk, screaming on the rides at Wonderland Pier or Gillian’s Water Park, and of course… eating! Pizza at Mack-N-Manco’s, custard at Kohr Brothers, a giant crab cake at Dell’s, or brunch at Bob’s Grill or Oves’. I would like to share this wonderful island resort with you and your friends and family. Start making some new memories of your own (or maybe bring back a few from your childhood, too!)

Our family had a wondering vacation. We had the most amazing weather and enjoyed every day we had. Your home made everything very convenient and simple. We hardly used our car at all. Wonderful accomodations! We brought our bikes and so enjoyed getting around town on them. Just the right size for our 4 children and us. It was so peaceful and quiet, my favorite part of the day was getting up early making a cup of coffee and going out back to sit at the table. We had great weather! Also learned to play a new game with our children called Settlers of Catan. Thank you and we tried to take care of it as if it were our own.Did you find this review helpful? My family and I really enjoyed our stay in Ocean City. The house was very clean, the kitchen had all of the things we needed and the location was fine. One block to a bay view, 5 blocks to main street shopping and 10 blocks to the beach. We spent family time at the beach, on the boardwalk, water park and at the amusement pier. Plenty to do, a family oriented town and everything we wanted. Thanks !!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This house made my first family vacation an absolute joy. From the moment we walked in tobthr minute we left, it was just perfect and met all of my expectations...plus some. My two boys, age two and 6 months never stopped to take a breath. With the beach AND bay minutes away, there is ALWAYS something to do. If you happen you happen to run into a bad beach day, the fenced in back yard (fences are a moms best friend) provided hours of playtime for the kids while mom and dad were also able to soak up some sun without the blowing and stinging sand. The house accomodates EVERYTHING! A/C, microwave, a grill, a DVD player, toaster, washer, dryer, and my personal favorite-a COFFEE MAKER! I do not have one bad thing to say about our stay in this home and I really can't wait to return next year. The owners were a breeze to work with and all inquiries and contacts were responded to extremely promptly. I can tell they pay a lot of attention to detail as you will see when entering their home. Thank you for letting us share our experience with you and we can't wait to make many more memories in the future!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

About the owner: I am an instructional designer for a military contractor, and my husband of 12 years works at a university in NJ. My family and I love the beach and boardwalk, sailing, surfing and, like most people, treasure the times we can all spend together, away from the hustle and bustle of work and school. Ocean City has been our favorite place to spend family times together over the years.
