Charming Amagansett Dunes Cottage, Directly Across from Ocean

Shell Cottage is 110 nautical miles from New York City and a million miles away metaphorically. Not quite on GPS you'll need directions to find it hidden at the end of a single track, private road, directly across from what travel magazines have described as one of the top ten ocean beaches in the world. Shell Cottage is bordered by perennial flower gardens and the pathway to the door is lined with fragrant French lavender. A patio with couches, jacuzzi, outdoor shower and dining area in the back of the cottage is completely private. Decorated in a shabby chic English country house manner the cottage is comfortably furnished with antiques and way, way too many shells. There are ocean and dune views from the roof deck and the private path to the beach is seconds away. Watch the sun go down with a glass of wine, fall asleep to the sound of the waves and wake to have your morning coffee at the beach.

My wife and I loved this house, it has a very personal look to it the owner has filled the house with interesting fun items that still make me smile. The beach and atlantic 100 yards away, walking up and down the beach, watching the early morning sunrising and sunsets. It was tough. Great fish up the road from Mikes fish shop. Oysters, lobsters cooked or uncooked a must. Cyrils for cocktails and fun, lobster roll shack for great lobster roll, great restaurants where ever you go. Fishing for sea bass either by boat or from the shore. Lots of place to explore by foot, car or bike. On top of that you have a great place to stay and you can start relaxing into becoming a beach bum again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
