On one of the days of my stay here, the Nor'easter struck. I was as warm and cozy as can be in the perfect apartment. But since I wanted to visit with my family, I ventured outdoors since the subway was right across the street! Prospect Park was in easy jogging distance, as was an organic super market, and a gym -across another street!! Martha's welcoming and help was just icing on the cake.

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I loved this apartment. My family (husband, myself, 3 y.o. daughter) stayed for a month in April. The location by the subways was excellent, the proximity to Park Slope was just what we wanted, and the walkable distance to Prospect Park was heavenly. Martha was accommodating, and I felt very relaxed during our stay. We did have an unexpected cold snap during our stay, and the building was a little chilly. Fortunately there were plenty of blankets and comforters. The building is an older one, and a walk up. If you choose to stay here, I can highly recommend grabbing a coffee at Prospect Perk on the way to the park in the morning. You can sit on the benches and watch the dogs run free during their morning dog park hours. It's heavenly.

This apartment was great for our vacation! The location was so convenient. My daughter and I were on the subway every day and it was so nice when we got off at our stop late and had a 2 minute walk to get "home." The neighbors we ran into were so friendly and helpful. Martha (the owner) was helpful and very responsive when we had a few questions. Looking at these pictures on here bring a huge smile to my face. We had such a great time there, and just for a few days felt like real New Yorkers! :-) The only downside for me was I never considered the possibility that this would be on an upper floor and no elevator. For this out-of-shape fat lady, that was an unpleasant (read near-death) shock! But I decided to suck it up and was better for it. The bed and futon were both very comfortable, and we had all the amenities we needed. The window unit was greatly appreciated as it was way hot that week. Oh, and another reviewer mentioned hopstop. That is a great app for getting around.

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times over a period of two years. It's very convienent to our son's place as well as the subway and shops. It's always very clean and plenty of towels and sheets available. It's quiet too. We're planning to rent it again.

Stayed here for a long weekend as an alternative to a hotel. It was in a perfect location, walking distance to tons of cool restaurants and bars, and we were walking in prospect park within a few minutes. The apartment is small, nicely furnished and above all, quiet. The neighborhood is very pleasant. Stone's throw to the metro. Martha was very helpful. I will stay here again if I can. Highly recommended.

Only the main bed had sheets. The futon in the living room had no sheets. When we complained only a top sheet was delivered, not a set. No hand towels were anywhere. When we arrived we were informed that the switch in the kitchen necessary for the coffee maker and the microwave was not operable. It was not fixed until the fifth day. It should have been taken care of before arriving or an adjustment in the rent should have been offered. We saw two roaches in the sink so we decided to eat out all the time. May be this is common in NY. The bathroom floors had brown stains and some shower tiles were broken.

Owner response: I appreciate customer feedback. My goal is to provide an enjoyable environment for my guests and to meet their needs. I regret this customer’s visit had problems, but I must provide an accurate depiction of what occurred for my future guests. As to the sheets and towels, the guest received an extra set of sheets upon request within an hour. The apartment had towels and washclothes for the bathroom, paper towels and dishtowels for the kitchen. Regarding the one switch in the kitchen, once I learned it was not working, I booked the earliest possible appointment with an electrician. I confirmed that every outlet in the apartment worked after the electrician left. Concerning the roaches, I personally have not seen any roaches in the apartment and never had complaints from previous guests. Nevertheless, I will schedule an exterminator and pay close attention to this issue. Lastly, the bathroom floors and shower tiles, as well as the entire apartment are kept exceptionally clean as mentioned in previous guests’ reviews.
