  My husband and I loved Cedarview! The view from the hot tub is amazing and Chesterman beach is just a short walk away. We brought our little boston terrier with us and she had an amazing time running around the property and the beaches. The house is well stocked, even with a large pot and utensils for cooking crab. I would definitely recommend Cedarview to friends and would stay here again.

  Our family of four were very very comfortable in Cedarview House ...we had plenty of room so that everyone had there own space, and bathroom! We were happy to have the sauna and hot tub to keep us busy outdoors, even in the rain! Our teenagers also surfed at Chesterman Beach, a five minute walk away.....great vacation spot!

  Thank you so much for having this amazing property available for rentals. We had an amazing time on our too short 2 night stay. Could not get enough of the hot tub. Chris was friendly and accomodating but otherwise invisible unless we needed him. Can't recommend this place enough - we will definitely be back.

  Our stay at Cedar View was spetacular. Hot tub with the birds, walks to Chesterman Beach storms, surfing, more hottubing, chartered with owners boat and walked the Big Tree Trail (amazing and humbling) plus caught some crab and had a feast! Town was friendly and fun, accomadations were great, and we could not have had a better time (5 nights was too short). HIghly recommend to any and all. Thanks to Cedarview owners and staff for a great stay.

  Well for starters we booked two weeks for 2013 before we left. Everything was as promised and much much more. Fantastic setting. House was perfect. This will be our "tofino spot" from now on. Chris and his wife outstanding hosts. Went fishing with Chris twice filled my bucket list with a silver on flies. Yeeha what fun. Crabing was fantastic! Oh make sure you"patch up" prior to hitting the ocean. This is the deal of the century! Our highest recomendation.

  Stayed here with another couple and couldn't have asked for a better rental home. This home is set in the forest with giganic trees surrounding the house, with an amazing views of the mountains and ocean. The hot tub, sauna and fire pit were quite the treat as well ... house is very clean and well kept 3 bedrooms each with their own bathrooms and fairly comfortable beds ... Chris lives above the rental, he is very helpful and friendly and able to answer any question you may have from where the best surf school is to what the number to order pizza is lol. I definitely recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for the full experience of staying in tofino :)

  Everything available the property was clean and in good condition. within easy reach of tofino and great walking on the nearby beautiful beaches. Chris our host was helpful and available should we need him. We would definately consider cedar view for another visit. Restaurants are within easy reach but we would recommend booking where possible as they seem busy, apparently year round.

  We had a lovely stay at Cedarview house! The owners were friendly every time I spoke with them on the phone prior to our arrival as we made sure everything would fall into place. I must say, when we showed up late (yes, Tofino is a bit of a drive from the ferries!) we were both puzzled as there were lights on upstairs, and it appeared someone was in the house. We punched in our code and scoped it out, only to find out the suite upstairs was being lived in by someone else with a separate entrance (later we would find out this is their son Chris). This was very disappointing because it was not made mention anywhere in the VRBO listing and we travelled here for our honeymoon (which I made mention of as booking the place). So, as with anywhere you have someone living upstairs, we woke when they did as they walked around the floors. The house was bit musty, and we had to chop and haul our own wood for the fire pit and wood sauna. That aside, we really enjoyed our stay, and the photos of the view from the hot tub does no justice. I really enjoyed taking a glass of wine and cheese/cracker plate down there to read a book and relax to the quiet sound of the gulls. We BBQ'd every night, and even enjoyed the sauna one night which was lovely cedar and really took the edge off the day. We used the CD player in the house and watched a movie a couple of nights. Chris was really pleasant and though we did not use his boat services, he made suggestions for us around town and tips for using the sauna, and immediately repaired a clogged sink drain. One word of advise, it seems the area loses power, as when we showed up the clocks in the house were not set. We set them all, and 2 mornings later lost power midway through breakfast. We went into town and there was no power there either. If you need to get up early at all, bring your own alarm or clock as the one by the bed is a plug in, not battery operated. This would be a good family retreat, as there were 2 additional bedrooms with bathrooms attached. All utensils in the kitchen and a big living area with plenty of seating. The beaches literally are only a 5 minute walk away and are absolutely stunning (especially at sunset!).

  Owner response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay in spite of a few disappointments and I want to assure you that I will make every effort to try to inform our future guests that every vacation rental in Tofino is required to have an owner/operator living on the property (Tofino by-law). We do have that indicated on our ViewWest website but unfortunately on VRBO space is very limited for expanding on details like that. We will address all of the issues you mentioned and hope you will consider returning in the future. We do appreciate your comments and look forward to seeing you again.

  We recently stayed at Cedarview House. On the positive side: great location, easy walk to Chesterman beach, loved the hot tub, lots of space for us and the host who lives upstairs was very helpful and generous. However, I have stayed in several VRBO rentals, and this one was somewhat disappointing. The master bathroom had alot of mould/mildew. It smelled bad and in fact we could not sleep in the bedroom adjacent to it due to the mould. The kitchen is quite small to work in. We also found that we could really hear the people above us, who tended to get up at 4-5am and therefore so did we - not great while on holiday!

Necessary repairs have been completed to make sure the bathrooms are in tip top shape.
