Crested Butte house description
We have been coming to Crested Butte for over 20 years and when 31 Teocalli was put on the market we absolutely jumped at the opportunity to own a home on the most coveted street on the quiet west side of town!
We started with a home that had great character but needed a first class updating. We finished a complete remodel and think the photos speak for themselves, and you'll understand why our house is referred to as 'Teocalli Treasure' because it's a real gem of a home!
Mark and Dee welcome you to drop us an e-mail, and we'll send you a complete portfolio of images of the house, our beautiful wildflower gardens, panoramic views of Mt. Crested Butte from the home, and the irrigated landscaped yard.
Description of Our House
Our newly remodeled house embodies the Crested Butte experience. Perfectly located in town just three blocks from Elk Avenue, which is so close to everything but on a very quiet street with large mature trees for privacy. This three bedroom, 2.5 bath home with office, sitting area, laundry room and large entry is just two blocks from the shuttle bus stop to the ski area. No need for a car.
With it's prime location, hardwood, travertine and slate floors, and designer wool carpet in the bedrooms, all the amenities of home and more, it's the ideal vacation home. Its open floor plan and cheerful welcoming decor make for good times with family and friends. The large dining room flows into the sunlit living area and kitchen. All three bedrooms have new Simmons Beauty rest pillow top mattresses and pillows, with new linens and beautiful duvet covers. The travertine and slate tiles baths come with thick lush towels.
The master suite has designer wool carpet and is decorated in beautiful fall colors and a large panoramic 60' Images By Nature by Tom Mangelsen and a few other pieces of art that bring the outdoors inside. The bath features a walk-in shower big enough for two and is decorated in travertine tile and travertine slab counters with a fine oil painting. You'll enjoy the massage double-head shower after a long hike or bike ride on the lower loop which starts just five doors down from our house.
There are two more bedrooms and each has their own theme. The guest room with a queen size bed is decorated with more Mangelsen images and the bedding and decor reflect the beautiful spring and summer colors of Crested Butte and white and wicker furnishings to complement the white iron bed.
The second guest room is decorated in more of a rustic decor with denim comforters, images of bears and fish to reflect the great Colorado outdoors. The bunk beds are a beautiful honey colored wood as well as the other furniture and there is a leather chest for additional storage. It also comes with a game console for children and has a large TV.
The remodeled kitchen opens up to the dining room and is filled with sunlight and has dropped pendant lighting with a bar ledge perfect for serving platters and buffet style dinners. It includes professional appliances by Jenn-Air and Thermador in stainless steel. The large countertop is made of slab granite and coordinates beautifully with the custom cabinetry that's antique red. We have Cuisinart appliances and have included everything you need for any meal or drink. The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking. We provide dish soap, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, and paper towels upon your arrival.
The laundry room has a Maytag washer and dryer. Laundry detergent is provided as well as a laundry hamper in every bedroom.
Our large entry room has two racks with plenty of hooks for jackets, biking helmets and a bench with baskets for even more items and a storage closet. There is also a writing desk located in the entry area.
In the summer enjoy the large yard featuring one of the most photographed wildflower gardens in Crested Butte, mature spruce and aspen trees for privacy, and an irrigated lawn. Relax in the teak chairs on one of the largest decks in town while you enjoy the panoramic view of Mount Crested Butte all the way to Gothic, any time of day with a heavy-duty umbrella to keep you shaded should you choose.
For entertainment we have two large Sony High Definition televisions, with a DVD player as well as a package through Comcast for numerous channels.
The office is furnished with a large mahogany desk, chair, file cabinet and printer/fax machine for your use. The office is also decorated with Mangelsen images.
The sitting area is so cozy with two large wicker club chairs and is decorated in a fly fishing theme and paintings by local artists.
The dining room is filled with sunlight and has a high vaulted ceiling. It is furnished with a large table that seats six. We have an additional leaf that expands the table to seat eight, which is perfect for holidays or entertaining. A small bar is located in the dining room as well as a large wine rack. From the dining table enjoy the view of Gothic while dining on your meal cooked in the gourmet kitchen or on the grill on the deck.
The living room has a high vaulted ceiling with wooden beams and is filled with sunlight and windows that open up to the cool summer breeze. It is decorated in cheerful colors and art by local and other artists from Colorado. The furniture includes a large couch, love seat, club chair with ottoman and sofa table.
The covered front porch is decorated with two chairs and a table for sitting and admiring the beautiful wildflowers and for watching bikers head to the lower loop. You'll most likely meet a few of our friendly neighbors who live full-time on Teocalli.
We have two mountain bikes, one child's mountain bike, and two antique town bikes you are welcome to borrow. Dee's town bike has a basket on the front that you will enjoye for trips into and around town!

Christmas and New Years' break
Christmas and New Years' break
The house is a real gem; everything the pictures show and more. It is full of amenities and leaves nothing to be desired. It is an easy walking distance to the Elk street with its wonderful shops and restaurants and also close to the ski bus. The owner is very approachable and responsive. We had the best possible stay and hope to come back soon!

Great House and Location
Great House and Location
Beautiful house. Loved the extras such as bikes being available. I took one of the Trek bikes out for some mountain biking and the ride and views were awesome. We could ride our bikes to everywhere in town and barely needed our car. I would happily recommend this property to anyone.

A great house in a great location. Nice furnishings, clean and spacious. Close enough to Elk Avenue for convenience but far enough to be quiet. Highly recommend. The use of the bicycles was a huge bonus.
