Beautiful renovated 1930's English Country house for rent set in the Foothills of NC. Less than one mile from Tryon's Trade Street downtown and less than 1/2 mile (walking distance) to Tryon's riverside park, Harmon Field, home of the famous Blue Ridge BBQ Festival and world class horse events. Tryon, known internationally for its Equestrian events- is a truly remarkable area with waterfalls, hiking trails, vineyards. Some of the best antique stores are all around you and Pearson Falls less than 2 miles away! If you are kayaker, 'The Narrows' at the Green River is just up the mountain!
Nearby are the quaint towns of Landrum and Saluda as well as only a short drive to Hendersonville, Asheville. Lake Lure & Chimney Rock are only a 25 minute drive away!!. There is also airport transportation services to Ashville, Charlotte, Greenville and Spartanburg. Also minutes from F.E.N.C.E (Foothills Equestrian Nature Center) and the Tryon Riding & Hunt Club.
This house is in one of most private, peaceful areas you will ever come across and is situated in an idyllic setting with views of Warrior mountain and your own mountain stream runs across the front of the house. There is a large yard for the kids and plenty of room to enjoy! This 2500 square foot 4 Br, 2 .5 Bath home has hard wood floors throughout and is updated with all stainless steel appliances, butcher block and granite countertops and kitchen fireplace. The kitchen is open to a cozy den that is a great place to kick back chat to the cook! The living room has soaring beamed cathedral ceiling, gas fireplace. and french doors that overlook Warrior Mountain. Large master bedroom with King Size bed has ajoining bonus room and huge new tiled shower in the bathroom. Two additional large bedrooms with queen size bed and double bed are elegantly decorated. A large guest bathroom can accommodate your family. Queen sleeper couch in lvinvg room and comfortable double futon in Den. The house also has a large study equipped with desk and wireless internet service (great for checking your emails - if you really have to!). When you finally have to leave you will feel peaceful and refreshed - we promise!

Suggest a new cleaning crew. Beautiful home, very comfortable and owner was very supportive during a difficult time but having been the second time we rented and having problems only with cleanliness, I think someone should at least do a walk through before a new party comes in. I normally don't complain but felt I had to let the owner know of problems with housekeeping.Owner response: I received request from this family 2 days before their stay and feeling bad about their situation allowed them to have access at the last minute after the house has sat for 3 days without a walk through. Because of there situation and the fact they were coming back a second time, I actually gave them the house at a 50% reduction (yes a fifty percent discount!). Within an hour following their phone call with a complain about dead bugs, I had my housekeeper and neighbor come by the house and they found absolutely nothing but a dead centipede on the floor of the master bedroom and were received with very positive comments from the guests upon their arrival at the house. There was nothing said about the house not being cleaned only a reference to dead bugs which I'm afraid is to be expected to some degree in such a rural area! I must say, I am thoroughly shocked that they would publish such a review given the circumstances! I thought we showed nothing but kindness and total professionalism and this has only been met by a unnecessary damaging review!

This house was the perfect refuge for my family during a difficult time. I highly recommend it.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway.

Better than advertised. Great English Country Style home with plenty of room. A unique floor plan includes seating rooms along with separate exits to the outside patio areas that surround the house. The house was spotless, the rooms were large and I cannot think of anything that was a problem. Tryon is an interesting town with stores and galleries to vist and a constantly running art/commercial movie house for rainy days. Easy access to many senic drives, hikes and waterfalls.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Very nice place to stay. The house was very clean. My only comment is if you are looking for a 4 bedroom, this house only has 3. There was a den with a futon, so it was fine for our family. But if you're looking for a private place to sleep, this den is between the kitchen and the livingroom and everyone has to walk through it. My kids were upset because the only tvs were in the master bedroom and livingroom. The master had a king size bed, the other two bedrooms had a queen and full size bed, so two kids slept on the couches in the livingroom so they had a tv and didn't have to sleep together. The owner was very good to deal with and was very quick to answer our emails before the stay. All in all, we had a great stay and would stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

About the owner: We are a couple originally from the UK with a four year old son. We moved to this home from Mount Pleasant, SC and enjoyed living there for 3 years. We, lovingly restored it during that time and really hated to leave! A job opportunity took us to Savannah, GA but we like to split our time between the NC Mountains and the GA coast.
Why the Owner Chose Tryon:
We fell in love with this house because it reminded us of our roots back in the UK - a typical English Country Manor! The surrounding area is reminisent of the English countryside as well. We lovingly restored and updated the home but tried to keep the old world charm. Everyone that visits comments on how refreshed and relaxed they feel when they leave. My husband needed easy access to I-26 to travel to Charlotte, Atlanta, Columbia and Charleston which is certainly has!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
You can walk to Harmon Field from our house. This truly unique park is located by a rushing river and is surrounded with mountain views. There are so many amenites which we have listed above but the atmosphere is incredible on a beautful morning or evening during a brisk walk or run. Many days you can just sit at the cafe ringside and watch the Equestrian Events. Truly unique and relaxing! If you have kids, there is plenty to keep them occupied. You also minutes away from everything you need as far as great mountain restaurants, antique shops, world class golf, kayaking, tennis, hiking and even skiing is only about an hour drive away. Saluda and Landrum and just a couple of miles either way and Asheville and Hendersonville are a short drive.
