I enjoy staying in a 1 story house. The kitchen was excellent and the open floor plan was great for the kids. It was a little smaller than I was expecting, but it worked out for a family of 4. The kids really enjoyed staying in the extra bedroom, as there were toys to play with and inspiring books. We loved sitting on the deck and listening to the frog symphony at night. The frogs get incredibly loud at night, but it didn't keep us from sleeping. We actually enjoyed it! At night, it gets very dark and you can see 1000 stars in the sky. During the day, if you find a friendly person at the horse boarding facility across the street, maybe they will let you pet a horse and feed an apple. My kids really enjoyed that. We also walked down to Neal Creek where the water was high and rushing. Sat on the bridge for a while and relaxed. That being said, it's definitely a place where you need to keep an eye on the kids. The pond is very murky, the creek high and I had some concerns on day 1 (not on day 2). The yard is nice and big but definitely rural and the grass is tall. And the barn apartment seems to have a permanent tenant. We weren't informed of this, so we were a bit surprised, considering we offered to let our friends rent it (luckily they declined). She was nice, quiet and friendly. The house is well stocked and the kitchen clean and charming. The fireplace low maintenance. The house smells a little bit of pet, but that's because they allow pets. My house smells of pet too, doesn't bother me. I would probably rent this again. Communication with the person who leases it is not as prompt as other places, but I wouldn't let that deter you. Keep trying and you will get it!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing.

Nice location, beautiful landscaping with roses. The barn really is a barn-a new apt above a horse barn. Lots of property and green grass for outdoor play.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

This place is just perfect for 6 or more, just enough room. The kitchen was huge and the view to the pond was peaceful. The heat was a little hard to figure out, the light switches as well. Finding which one went to what was difficult. If you go to use the hide a bed expect a bar in the back. Other then that the house and the time there was great. Our teens where busy with the ping pong table a lot, that was good entertainment. Nice and peaceful place! The open floor plan was very cool because it kept us all together.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
