This house is exactly as advertised, with open-yet-comfortable shared spaces, peaceful views, and spacious rooms. Simply a great place for a group to come together for a few days to go to the beach, to go bicycling, golfing, enjoy wineries, or fine eateries (all of which we did!). Thanks to Peri and Jeff who made us feel at home and like pampered guests at the same time.

We stayed at this property in April of 2013 and had a great time. The house is large, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our kids loved being able to feed the animals. Peri and Jeff were very welcoming and went above and beyond in helping make our stay comfortable and memorable. Jeff even helped us when we had some car trouble and got us connected with a mechanic friend of his who was able to get us back on the road and to the beach! Some of the kids loved the house so much they were very reluctant to leave! Thank you Peri and Jeff for doing so much to help make our trip memorable.

I brought my teenagers here for a weekend near the beach. It's not easy to impress teenagers, but mine were. We were greeted by Peri upon arrival and felt welcomed and instantly comfortable. The house was clean and beautifully furnished, and the property well-maintained. The neighborhood was nice and the view from the back porch across the property and beyond was so peaceful in the morning with a cup of coffee and relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine. Even our dogs had a great time exploring the fenced in back yard area. The house was close to everything (cute town and about 10 minutes to the beach) and we enjoyed a nice trip to Hearst Castle. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Peri & Jeff for the fresh eggs, bottle of wine and your hospitality!

We had a wonderful stay at Peri's. Perhaps the only suggestion would be to add a couple of non stick fry pans to cook up the delicious fresh eggs that were delivered! Hard to cook eggs on an all clad!

Owner response: Dear Prashant, Thank you so much for coming to stay at our Boutique Farm at the beach! We love your request for a few non stick pans, because as you know, our Zen Hen Hut "Girls" lay the happiest freshest eggs and we certainly want our guests to enjoy them to the fullest! So we have now added non stick pans to the mix for all future guests to use while enjoying a luxurious stay at the house! Please come again. Peri and Jeff

This property had all the comforts of home plus the luxury of a nice hotel. Our family enjoyed hanging out together in the large great room/kitchen/dining areas. All of us took turns cooking in the modern and spacious kitchen. The young kids had plenty of room to run around both inside and outside with their nerf guns. The owner even set up a Christmas Tree and decorations to make our holiday stay memorable. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were very clean and well appointed. Close to the wine country and downtown area. Loved the country setting and outdoor space to take in the fresh air and surrounding nature. One morning, the owner brought fresh farm eggs and organic vegetables to our door. She was always available on the property to take care of our needs. We all want to come back next year.

Owner response: Dear Connie, What a lovely family you have and we certainly enjoyed having you all during the Christmas Holiday! We want all guests to fully enjoy the house and grounds no matter what time of year. We strive to make any time of year special, but feel that Christmas is so wonderful that we want to make it a Winter Wonderland even at the Beach! Our chickens, goats and rabbits are all part of the special goings-on around here! We hope to see you again as we continue to make it better and better all the time Thanks again, Jeff and Peri

What a wonderful weekend we had with Peri and Jeff! We arrived late Friday evening (around 10ish) and Peri answered my phone call to welcome us. When our friends entered the house they couldn't believe where they were staying. Travertine floors, a beautiful kitchen, and the bedrooms were all beautiful. There were beds for everyone and Peri brought in an extra mattress just in case. Saturday morning we all slept in and woke up to eggs delivered by Jeff for our breakfast. The other reviews mention the house in detail but don't really describe the five acres that it sits on. We had breakfast on the back patio which overlooks the lot. Jeff and Peri have done a great job using woodchips, succulents, and other drought tolerant plants to create a sustainable back yard that is wonderful to be in. Coming from Los Angeles it was so refreshing to have space and silence. The house's setting served as the perfect retreat for our group. Though Peri left a list of things to do in Arroyo Grande we had a wedding to attend Saturday night. This made for an enjoyable, relaxing time around the house. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone interested in staying on the Central Coast. The only hard part is that you'll have a hard time leaving:)

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

Owner response: Dear Andrew, We so enjoyed you and your family while here for the wedding! We are happy that your time spent at the house and boutique farm was satisfying. We always want our guests to maximize the enjoyment factor during the stay and be able to take away fantastic memories. We are constantly mindful that each guest's experience here is special and are striving to make our home ever-more luxurious and the boutique farm ever-growing with organic fruits and veggies and loving animals. Please be on the lookout for our new pygora goats and bunnies coming soon. Thanks so much, Jeff and Peri

I was one of eight women who chose this home for one of our two get away week ends a year. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. It was spotless, comfortable, and quiet, with an open floor plan, so we never felt cramped. We could have used a full bath downstairs, as some of us have trouble with stairs, but I understand Peri and Jeff are working on that. The location has the feel of being in the country, but you are still within 10 or 15 minutes of almost any kind of shopping or entertainment you could want. Jeff and Peri are the sweetest couple, and are available for anything you might need, including preparing a wonderful, healthy meal if you so choose, and fresh eggs from the zen hens in the morning. Loved the whole experience.!

We thoroughly enjoyed having your group stay here for your special get-together and are always making continued improvements to the house, property and boutique farm to ensure the most wonderful experience possible for all of our guests. We value our guests and look forward to a return visit ! Thanks, Jeff and Peri

3 great upstairs bedrooms with terrific master and master bath. Every detail of remodel was made with taste and class. New windows, quiet road and large yard may my room the quietest I have ever stayed in. Downstairs had big kitchen and great room with dining table and another bedroom. If offered a homemade meal accept it as it was large, fresh, multi-coursed, healthy and made with perfection (not inexpensive but well worth the price) with lots of organic ingredients. I would have loved to spend more time exploring Pismo Beach and the wine country. Sheets were even great. Perfect to the smallest detail.

We loved staying at Peri and Kevin's house! The house was exactly as described and the pictures didn't do it justice. The house had ample room for our extended family while we celebrated our son's wedding weekend. Our son and his groomsmen got dressed in their tuxes at the house and it served as a wonderful backdrop for photos!! I would highly recommend this property to a friend or relative. The house is gorgeous and we felt very comfortable during our four-night stay. Thanks Peri, we enjoyed the eggs from the "zen hen hut" too!

Our stay at Arroyo Grande was wonderful, the owners were so very helpful. They were there to meet us upon are arrival. The house a was more than we expected, the photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance. Felt like we were staying at a resort. The main purpose was to be together as a family, we were were able to make a family dinner and also took family pictures then enjoyed the evening. The stay was too short, next time we may stay a little longer. The owners were so gracious with a basket of fresh eggs, strawberries and then the homemade cookies for the trip home was more than we expected. They were able to give us guidance for the trip home, places to stop and see. I have told several people about the rental.

Owner response: Dear Rita, What a lovely family you have! Seeing you and the other family members with your father was so heartwarming, and it was important to us that you all enjoyed your stay here even though it was short! We hope you return for a longer stay and will enjoy all of the new additions to the boutique farm!

Peri and Jeff made sure every aspect of our needs were met while we were using their home. This is a beatutiful house for a large group. There were 14 of us (4 families) in the group. The upstairs bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The master bedroom has a wonderful view and a balcony for star gazing. one disappointment was the downstairs library which was very small. I thought the forth couple could stay in that room but it did not work that way. They ended up sleeping on the mattress that Peri had provided in the living room. This problem can easily be solved if the huge storage room by the library is turned into a liveable area (like a game room). overall we had lots of fun. We all played pingpong and the eggs we got each morning was a bonus. we all loved the place and will go back on our future reunions.

Owner response: Dear Mandana, Well, we sure did enjoy you and your beautiful family! Yes, it was a large group so we understand about making everyone comfortable and cozy as we continue with the beautification projects at our spot. We are always looking for great ideas our guests may have and certainly consider them all. We hope to see you next year.

My family, which included x3 couples and a child, stayed here for my mom's 60th birthday celebration. The chateau couldn't have been a better fit for our group providing ample personal space, bathrooms, common areas for relaxing and spending time together. Not to mention the peaceful mornings sitting out on the patio overlooking the hills out towards the ocean. The home is beautifully and meticulously decorated and in perfect condition. If it weren't a special weekend for my mom, we would have all been fighting over the "master bathroom" with a gorgeous tile, double-head shower with ample hot water. Our hosts were very kind and interesting and made us feel more than welcome on their property, showing us around the grounds, introducing us to their chickens, and giving us great ideas of areas to visit. This is a great place to turn into an annual tradition destination or to celebrate a specail event. Thank you Peri and Jeff for a great stay!

We feel so lucky to be so close to so many fun things to do, whether it be beaches for sunning or surfing, lakes for fishing, mountains for hiking, wineries for wine tasting or tours, or "The Village" of Arroyo Grande for antiquing, shopping or eating! We feel blessed and grateful to be able to have the opportunity to have our guests relax on the patio and renew your spirit at our vacation haven. We hope to see you for another family event. My family needed a place to stay in Arroyo Grande at the very last minute due to a solar job we were to install there. I called the owner, Peri, just 2 days b4 we needed the place, and she was so very patient and understanding to my situation it was a great relief. She was so accommodating, I felt like I could trust her completely. I had never brought my family to an actual home, so I was a little nervous b4 I talked to her. She handled the paperwork so smoothly I though this was too good to be true. However, when we arrived, it got even better. My whole family was TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY with the house. Absolutely gorgeous, I don't know how she could let strangers in her beautifully decorated home. Beautiful views, deliciously comfortable rooms, short drive to town, and a wonderful couple who owns the home all add up to a dream vacation! Thanx Jeff and Peri, you are special people!

From the moment I stepped through the door, I felt my self instantly relax. It is beautifully remodeled and the decor just makes you feel like you are truly in a home away from home. I was traveling with a magazine for a photoshoot and while someone else had initially booked the home for us, I was instantly impressed at how clean and quiet it was. The owners of the home are also SO gracious and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and things were right for us in our rental. I would HIGHLY recommend this home if you are able to get up to Pismo Beach. Perfect for a small group of people with 3 bedrooms that are immaculate. Or even for a family trip :) I will DEFINITELY be going back. Thank you for a wonderful few days.

The reason for our trip was a family member's wedding in Nipomo. Due to the long drive, we decided to make an extended weekend out of it and take some time to enjoy some of the local attractions. Our group included 3 adult couples, a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old. It is nice that all the bedrooms are upstairs...made it easy to put the kids to bed & not worry about disturbing them while the adults relaxed downstairs. Wonderful open floor plan in the kitchen, living room, and dining room downstairs allows everyone to be "together" yet not feel cramped or confined. Peri was very helpful and accommodating. We especially enjoyed Palo Mesa Pizza (they deliver), JJ's Market (amazing deli), and Avila Beach. We even managed to visit to a few local wineries - if you enjoy Pinot Noir, we thought Kynsi was a gem. Small family winery - the "tasting room" is setup outside on a covered patio. They have chairs, blankets, and a gazebo out on the lawn area - a beautiful spot for a small picnic or just to sit and take in the lovely pastoral views. There were so many nice and thoughtful touches, like the little "care basket" with fresh eggs and goodies from the garden. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

We chose this spot for our family reunion on 4th of July since it is about equal distance from LA & San Francisco, and we were all coming from either location (living there or flying in). As the other reviewers say, it is wonderful in so many ways. Peri & Jeff have created a haven: in addition to its 5 star quality and beauty, the house embodies ease and comfort. The quiet rustic 'country' setting is perfect for 'being away from it all'. The downstairs area was an ideal 'hang out' area for the 7 adult professionals. The design provided for easy flow (kitchen, breakfast nook, living room, dining room, porch). We could all be in the same space cooking, talking, playing and at the same time not in each others way. We also cooked on the grill outside and played the mini basketball machine, bringing back and/or creating new 'childhood' memories. There were 3 bedrooms upstairs with the high quality bedding, each tastefully decorated and very comfortable. There was a small bedroom downstairs by the living room, and the couch was also comfortable to sleep on. The master bedroom (gorgeous!) had a 2-side 4 head shower - nice and relaxing. The other bathroom had a jetted tub - also nice and relaxing! And there was a small 1/2 bathroom conveniently located downstairs. Some of us were happy just staying in and enjoying the house and the company. The rest ventured out to buy groceries and checked out the nearby beaches. We stumbled upon a cute coffee shop (Coffee Cove in Grover Beach) which had great cappuccino and interesting 'bubble' drinks (tapioca). All of us went to the neighbor's backyard with train tracks (he was hosting the 'train' club who had brought their trains (from all over the country). He and the other club members were kind and let us watch the trains move around on the 1 mile track. Thank you Peri & Jeff for creating this lovely space. We will definitely come back!

Very nicely decorated home with upgrades throughout. The home has a great layout with a spacious family room and kitchen. We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. Various activities for kids were available such as ping pong and arcade type basketball. The chickens are friendly as well and the eggs were some of the best we've eaten. We happend to be in town for the Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival which was a lot of fun. Lake Lopez is only 30 min away as well. Jeff & Peri were great hosts and very down to earth people that were there for us with anything.

We've never rented a house for vacation- we only stay with family, or get a hotel on our way to see family- so this was a pleasant new experience for us. We were able to spread out and get comfortable in our own space. The house looks exactly like the pix- decorated with taste and a lot of attention to detail. We definitely felt welcome with vases of fresh flowers through-out the house, and little cool things like Peri inviting our kids to feed and pet the chickens everyday. Across the street and behind a bunch of trees (not visible from the road) there's train tracks and mini villages/ buildings set up where train enthusiasts bring their knee-high trains (8 gauge?) and ride them. I guess they get together on holiday weekends and we were lucky to be there then. It looked like people came from all over, camped in their RV's and tents. They don't sell tickets or anything, but we started talking with a woman and she quickly flagged down her husband and son and said we could jump on the train. It was really cool. We went over bridges and through tunnels- our kids loved it, too. haha. We also checked out the Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove. It was beautiful with a short walk to the beach. The house is in the country, but really not too far from the freeway. There's a walmart just up the road maybe 5 minutes, and really close to the house is a pizza place, mexican food, and a small grocery store. All the appliances, cookware, etc worked well. There's lots of blankets, pillows, and towels. Peri and Jeff were very professional and helpful with any questions we had, and just cool people. We were very comfortable- thanks again for the hospitality, guys!

What a wonderful weekend spent on the Central Coast! Our family of 5 (4 humans and one pup) could not have asked for more hospitable, charming, well appointed and comfortable accommodations. The kitchen/living/dining area was perfect for our much needed family-time spent eating, playing games, watching movies and relaxing together. We were even treated to fresh eggs in the morning. What a treat! The bedrooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and the beds oh so cozy! And the spa-like bathrooms-oh my goodness-simply gorgeous. We spent time at the beach, shopping, playing golf and seeing the sights. This home is very centrally located to all the great things that we came to do and see. Thank you so much for a memorable weekend with our children. We can't wait to come back!

I came down with a group of people for a little weekend getaway vacation. The house was better than we could have ever imagined!!! The house has a extremely cozy layout and is beautifully decorated. Very open and spacious with plenty of natural lighting. The house had absolutely everything we could have asked for and even more! Beds and sheets we clean and super comfy. Tons of towels, blankets and pillows. Fully stocked kitchen supplies and cooking utensils. Washer and dryer. Nice updated bathrooms. There is a little game room with a ping pong table and basketball shooting machine. Totally awesome for a family with some younger kids. The enormous property with pastoral views is also fantastic for families with children. The area is quiet and is great for being outside and relaxing and hanging out around the campfire or bar b que! This rental has everything you could ever ask for and more! The owners of the rental are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were more than willing to answer any questions and help out with whatever is needed. We already booked a return trip for next summer and we cannot wait!!!
