This is a charming 3 story cabin located next to Monte Verde lake, just 8 minutes away from the slopes. It is located within the private sector of Angel Fire and has a beautiful view of the mountains from the deck. The main floor has a full kitchen, dining area, and living room with big screen HDTV, fireplace, plus the master bedroom and bath. Upstairs is the 2nd bedroom with queen bed, bathroom, and 3rd bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds for a fun 'slumber party.' The basement is where the fun is, with a TV, video games, DVD player, CD player/stereo, and pool table. There is a bunk bed with a trundle bed there as well, for when you 'just can't make it upstairs'. There are plenty of outdoor activities within the neighborhood (Lake Monte Verde is within walking distance), the country club, and of course the resort and ski slopes. Winter activities include skiing (downhill and cross country) and snow mobiling. Summer activities are plentiful with golfing, mountain biking, tennis, basketball, hiking, and this summer there is a zip line within the mountains. After a day of play, relax on the deck as you watch the sun set, or from inside in front of a fire.

First, Angel fire is a very family friendly town. My family and I spent spring break weekend at this cabin. The cabin is far enough out of town to make you feel like you are out in the woods. It has privacy and the feeling that you are in a secluded cabin in the middle of a forrest near a lake. But there are other cabins around you that add to the rustic scenery where you do not feel like you are isolated or have that creepy feeling like you are all alone. But in reality you are only 9 minutes away from the supermarket and 10 minutes away from the slopes. The snow on the slopes was icy in the morning and slushy in the afternoon. Not the best ski conditions, but it was at the end of the ski season. The good thing is that there was no lines on any of the lifts. It was fun! My girls saw several wild deer come right up to the cabin for the first time in their life, talk about magic. Personally, I liked sitting on the balcony chairs in the morning while drinking a cup of coffee, and watching the sun come up over the mountain. It was very picturesque. Two years ago we stayed at the Condo at the base of the mountain at Taos. The facilities were great, the ski in and ski out was awesome, the problem that me and my family had was that we had a little mountain sickness. It was too high up and that we were always short of breath until we went down the mountain to eat and we could breathe again. Then we would have to go back up the mountain and we would dread it. The nice thing about this cabin is that it is not too high up in the mountains and there is very little acclimating to the altitude. The cabin feels like a home, the furniture is comfortable and clean. I liked the big flat screen (to watch March Madness basket ball) on the satellite T.V. There is no Wifi but, I was able to use my iPhone and had some limited internet AT&T access. But it was painfully slow. Looking back it is probably a good thing that there is no Wifi, because my kids had to put down their iPhones and actually talk and interact with us and their cousins. We had 9 people at the cabin (and did not use the upstairs bedroom with the two bunk beds). It was very comfortable and did not feel crowded. The kids would cook smores in the fireplace, while my wife and I borrowed a puzzle from the book case and worked on it. t was good old fashion fun. We have not had such a great, relaxing, stress free family vacation in a long time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks for the kind words. We're very happy you all had a great spring break.

Our family met at Angel Fire for our Christmas holiday. We found the cabin and surrounding area to be the perfect spot for enjoying the season. The cabin was well stocked, had plenty of space for all of us, and located in a beautiful area. There were beautiful views to enjoy by the fire, many deer roamed through the area for the little ones to see. Our grandchildren enjoyed sledding right outside the cabin, plus there are great sledding hills not far from the cabin. The ski resort had plenty of action; skiing, tubing, and zip line. Angel Fire is a central location, close to Taos, Red River, and Eagles Nest.We would love to come during summer or fall and enjoy the lake and golf course. The owners were very helpful throughout the process and were able to answer all our questions. Thanks for helping make our family gathering one to remember.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the kind words. We'd be happy to have you all back!

Very beautiful and cozy cabin. Great place to stay and just unwind. Gorgeous view of the mountains when you first get up. Lots of amenities available for our stay. Tons to do during the day! At night, it's so nice to curl up with a book upstairs while the kids played downstairs in the gameroom. The 3rd floor makes for a very convenient sleeping arrangement. It felt very much like home. Slopes are just a short drive away; a very pleasant distance from the crowds at the resort. Lake is walking distance. My husband already wants come back in the summer to fish and golf. Awesome place to spend the holidays. Is it too early to sign up for next year? Thank you all for a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for choosing our cabin. I'm glad you liked it. Come back any time. Jill

We just returned last night from a 4 night stay in this beautiful cabin in Angel Fire. We fell in love the minute we pulled into the driveway. We took our 3 daughters, our son and a friend of his. So, 5 kids in all. We had plenty of room. The 3 college and highschool girls took over the upstairs and couldve each had a friend with them for all the room they had. The two teenaged boys took over the downstairs and, when they weren't skiing or eating we never saw them because of the video games and the billiards table!! My husband and I were very comfortable in the master bdrm and laying on the couch in front of flat screen and fire place taking in the most incredible view!! I absolutely loved the alpine/southwest vibe of that area. One of our days, we took the most scenic day trip to Taos. The neighborhood that the cabin is in was so beautiful, we took a walk everyday and enjoyed the wildlife and views. Would love to return in the spring or summer because we kept walking past the lake and i can tell it is gorgeous, although it was covered in snow!! Can not wait to return!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you all. We'd be thrilled to have you back.
