Enjoy the Texas Gulf Coast from the deck of the condo. The canal opens into Little Bay. You can park your boat right outside your living room and take it out to Aransas Bay and the Gulf of Mexico for fishing. Numerous species of fish: sheepshead, red snapper, black drum, etc. are plentiful and very delicious.
Shore birds walk along the deck and swim in the water outside your front door. Pelicans, heron, gulls, and ducks are always looking for a hand out.
Children enjoy the nearby Rockport Beach or simply playing or fishing in the canal outside the condo. Porpoises have been known to swim alongside the rubber raft with the children.
Great restaurants with fresh seafood are abundant in the area. A large HEB grocery store is nearby for gourmet cooking or delicious deli foods at home.
The Aransas Wildlife Park has alligators, deer, wild hogs, armadillos, shore birds, and it is a refuge for the sandhill cranes. A day trip to the area makes an interesting outing for the whole family.
The town of Rockport was home to artists in the 50s and much of the culture remains. The down town has interesting shops and a home town feel. There are many community activities in which to participate if you are staying more than a week or two.
For the more adventurous there is parasailing, jet skis, and kayaking. Feral hog hunting is a popular sport for many.
The nearby town of Corpus Christi has the ship USS Lexington for touring. There is also good shopping, movie theaters, a zoo, and sea world. It is a 30 minute drive from Rockport
Port Aransas has some interesting attractions and beaches as well. There is an island tour and fishing boat charters for an afternoon or 3 days.
Padre Island is nearby and has nice picnicking facilities.
The King Ranch is close and offers tours. Goliad is also very interesting for Texas's history during the Mexican wars.
The weather is pleasant during the winter months, averaging in the 60s and 70s in January and February. During the summer a cool ocean breeze makes the temperatures 10 to 20 degrees cooler than inland Texas.
The condo is a corner unit, so there is more sunlight and fewer neighbors. The seascape interior decorating brings the beach inside. The unit has been newly carpeted in 2012. All you need to bring is your suitcase as the linens and cooking utensils are furnished.

About: We live on a small ranch in western Colorado where we raise thoroughbred horses for racing. Many of our neighbors spend the winters in Rockport, TX where we all enjoy the fishing, warm weather, and many local attractions. Our children and grandchildren enjoy the beaches, playing in the canal outside the condo, and exploring.
Why Rockport: We chose this location because the town of Rockport and the Key Allegro area are very clean and safe. The community is caring and they offer many things to do. There is an annual oyster fest with many crafts, live music, and oysters to eat. All the 'Winter Texans' make the area a lot of fun.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: The most unique benefit is the close proximity to fishing. We park our boat outside the front door of the condo on the canal where we can be in Aransas Bay in 30 minutes or less. It s wonderful to bring home fresh fish to cook for dinner. It is very relaxing to sit on the deck and watch the shore birds playing.
