We rented the Reiter cabin this past week, and all I can say is wow! Such serenity...such peacefulness... The house was exactly what we'd hoped for and more; the owners, Bob and Vanessa were very easy to communicate with, and let us know they were available should we have any issues at all (we didn't). We could have spend nearly double for a tiny condo in WP, but this was definitely the way to go. Close drive to wonderful skiing, and just everything was perfect!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

This cabin was everything and more than expected. There was plenty of room for all with privacy for couples or singles. The property is well maintained and stocked with all that we needed. We loved the wildlife that came to visit and could be viewed from the deck. We also found the communities around Winter Park very low key and full of trails for hiking and mountain bike riding. We did not have to drive much to get to these areas. Devil's Thumb Ranch is a great source for miles of hiking and riding even if you are not staying at the ranch. Hot tub is wonderful under the canopy of stars. Thank you for a great time of rest from city life!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We came to the area for a wedding and made this VRBO listing our home base. It was comfortable for two families of 4. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds and many entertaining movies and games. The setting was secluded and quiet but close enough to all of our activities. Everything was in working condition and cozy. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Dear Reiters, Thank you so much for this mini vacation! It was a great extension to my birthday. It is so peaceful up here. What I really enjoyed most is the heater and control in every room. I ejnoyed rocking the the living room and reading. Yes - every window has a spectacular peace that surrounds you as you look out it. I would love to ski again and it would be great to sit on the porch with a glass of wine.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Madeline loved touching the pine trees, shaking the aspens to hear the leaves and expecially laying in her very first hammock and playing with the moose next to the fireplace. If all our family vacations are this spectacular, we'll be very blessed. Thank you for sharing your home with us - It's easy to see why you love it somuch. We feel very at peace and rested for the first time in a long time. And as Bill said - "I feel so much closer to God."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: We recently celebrated 30 years of marriage and are blessed with two beautiful daughters and a son-in-law. Bob is an insurance broker and Vanessa is a middle school choir director. We enjoy golfing, fishing, hiking, biking, skiing and riding our ATV's. Although we enjoy winter activities, summer is our favorite time in the mountains. When not in our beautiful state we enjoy visiting family in Iowa, where we are from originally and the occasional tropical vacation.
Why the Owner Chose Tabernash:
We purchased our mountain property in Grand County because it is within easy driving distance of the Denver metro area. Grand County is a mountain lovers paradise with tons of things to do year around.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy the proximity to ski resorts, beautiful golf courses, endless fishing areas and hiking trails. Our home sits on 1 1/4 acre of a wooded hillside with a pond across the road. We often view moose, deer, elk, and even the occasional bear. We enjoy the fine chef in the small town of Tabernash as well as a large variety of restaurants in the area. We always breathe more deeply and relax more fully immediately upon arriving at our mountain home. It is the perfect getaway from life in the metro area.
