INTRODUCING LIL' GREEN BEAR CABIN! Look closely at the property photo's, click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right to expand for a closer look, compare the photo's with any and every other 2 bedroom cabin you are considering and decide for yourself, consider the grounds of the property as well, you are not going to just sit in the cabin your entire visit!! Carefully read or 5 star reviews! If your coming to Big Bear, come stay in Classic Mountain Log cabin living, not simple suburban architecture, YOU CAN GET THAT DOWN THE HILL! Lil' Green Bear Cabin has often been described as something right out of a fairy tale or childhood fable! A mountain log cabin that delivers exactly what it shows. Come experience Big Bear the way it's supposed to be experienced, a classic log cabin, mountain decor and perfect grounds, seclusion, away from the crowds. Lil Green Bear Cabin awaits and NEVER disappoints!
LIL' GREEN BEAR CABIN, a 1000sf Sierra Style Log Cabin sits quietly nestled just 3 short blocks from the San Bernardino National Forest, 2 miles from the lake & amazing hiking trails, 3 miles from shopping, 4 miles from the slopes and 6 miles from the village! Away from the tourist buses of Big Bear Lake. Big Bear City gives you a chance to truly get away and live like the mountain locals for the weekend? A refreshing walk around the block is an experience in itself, one that you won't forget! There is a maximum capacity of 4 adults (up to 2 additional children are fine).
Completely renovated in 2009, floor to ceiling knotty pine with 12 inch exposed strewn logs running through the living room ceiling, a classic Maltby fireplace, 2 nicely sized bedrooms with King & Queen beds sitting on rustic, log bed frames. For the folks who have a little trouble relaxing and need to stay close to the office, the cabin is equipt with a 30mbtys, broadband, wireless wi-fi router, so the laptop/tablet can stay handy! The mountain theme decor has been praised by countless reviews (visitors). Fully stocked large CHEFS KITCHEN complete with absolutely everything you need to whip up any meal and something rarely found in smaller cabins up here: A REAL KITCHEN TABLE with high back leather dining room chairs! Custom made of reclaimed pine and large enough to seat 6. On so many occasions this is not the case, you are forced to sit on bar stools or TV trays while sitting in the living room!! A custom made, brand new leather pull out sectional, 42 inch LCD television with cable (another 36 inch LCD mounted in the master bedroom for the romantic couple who want to stay in bed all day while the wind blows and/or snow falls). Enjoy a glass of wine while snuggling in front of the large, maltby style fireplace on a chilly night while the avacado wood crackles.
The grounds are again well noted throughout the reviews, so many massive pine & evergreen trees on the property and 2 of the most perfect 40 foot Holiday trees ever sit in the front yard! Really special! The front yard is professionally landscaped with the most beautiful summer flower beds around, that's right an actual front yard for the kids to play. The back yard is a park like setting, completly fenced in for piece of mind with the little ones (kids) with some very cute decorative pieces that again are fantastic for children. This cabin is extremely kid friendly! Two great porches/decks, the front porch gives you that classic experience of sitting out on 2 great redwood adarondak chairs and simply enjoy the peace and quite, while star gazing into the renown star-lit Big Bear sky. The back deck comes with a large circular redwood table & chairs and a large BBQ/Smoker (propane) for you guys who think you can get busy on the grill! You can go out for dinner anytime, but starting up the grill on a chilly night in a mountain log cabin with a bottle of Red wine while the steaks marinade........now that's a city get-a-way and a priceless memory you won't forget.
The property is motion sensor lit (front and back yard/driveway) for late night arrivals, a proper freshly slurred, asphalt driveway, not gravel or dirt, which handles up to 3 vehicles. We have put our heart into this cabin and are very proud of it. It is professionally managed from bedding to towels it will be delivered to you in spotless condition with all the clean, fresh conveniences of home. We have a 4 year old son so again we pride ourselves on the cabin being kid friendly whether it be the horse shoe pit, the provided snow sleds or complimentry fire wood. We have thought of everything to assure you that upon the completion of your stay you will leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The greatest compliment we have ever received was in a review one of your guests posted in the spring of 2012 (see review section) simply stating that 'This is not like staying in a rental cabin at all, but more like staying at a friends home!'
We offer you....... LIL GREEN BEAR CABIN!
Sincerely,
The Green Family of Lil Green Bear Cabin.

My wife, I and 2 boys spent 4 nights at Lil Green Bear Cabin and I must say like all the others before us, the cabin pleasantly exceeded our expectations! Every word on the description page, every photo on the photo page was true to form. We had the most relaxing time in this little mountain getaway. Just five minutes from the Village, lake, shopping and restaraunts allowed us an escape when our days were finished back at the cabin. So many great details from the decor, beds, kitchen, yards, patio's. Just as advertised, the ability for our kids to run around the front and back yard while we sat on the deck with a bottle of wine was perfect. We barbequed one night on the big back deck, so much fun. The place was spotless, the bathroom was so clean and cute, the kitchen is huge and fully supplied with everything we needed. The dining room table allowed us to actually gather and eat, play board games, really nice and rare for a small cabin. We like others mentioned came in late our first evening into the pitch black of the mountains and we were so pleased when we pulled in the long comfortable driveway to see 2 big sensor controlled spot lights light up the house. We'll be back!! Thanks Randelle for taking such good care of us throughout the entire process.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Between the five-star rating and the title of the review, you should by now know where I'm going with this: Lil Green Bear was FANTASTIC, and we cannot wait to come back next winter!! But you're still reading, which I'll assume indicates a certain curiosity for the details of our stay, so let me indulge in the form of a concise bullet list of the good and the bad about the cabin: The good: - LOCATION: The place is easy to find, very close to the main road. There's a grocery store within walking distance that will satisfy most needs for food/supplies. Plenty of stores within a short drive (or a rather long walk, if that's your thing). There is ample parking on the driveway (also, there's a driveway). The surroundings of the cabin make it private enough to not feel like neighbors are all over, but it's "civilized" enough that it didn't have my wife feeling like we were in the middle of the woods :) - CABIN: It is absolutely gorgeous. The photos and description truly don't make it justice. As you first walk through the door, you feel like it's cozy, clean, safe, and welcoming. A short walk-through once we were inside kept prompting "wow!" and "look at that!" from both of us. The kitchen is fully-equipped, and I mean it: we're from a cooking family, so we were gladly surprised to find that not one utensil was missing! We were able to grill, bake, fry, bake some more, make sauce, whip pancakes, etc. Everything you need is there, and then some. All cabinets are baby-proofed, which is huge for us, since this was the last time we'll be taking these types of trips with a head-count of 2, and we now know that it's safe to come back next year with the +1! The backyard was very pretty; grill had plenty of gas and tools; there was a good amount of firewood already there; the layout of the kitchen/dining area/living room made the stay super comfortable; the bed was gigantic, the couch super comfy; plenty of fluffy blankets, washer/dryer with supplies; dishwasher; EVERYTHING was squeaky-clean; very fluffy carpet in the living room; modern TVs with open HDMI connectors, and yay for high-speed internet!! As a plus, it's an absolute pleasure to deal with Randelle, he was always quick to respond to our (many) emails and made sure to let us know that he was always available. The bad: - We went to the town's movie theater and watched "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone"... It was alright, I guess, but definitely not Steve Carrell's best. Should've stayed in.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was our first experience with VRBO, and now we are sold! Randelle was prompt and professional in his communications with us, and was very flexible when we needed to change our dates. The cabin was absolutely charming, and perfect for our family of four. While my plan was to get my 7 and 4 year old children on skis for the first time, the highlight was the sledding that we got to do just a 30 second ride up the street (sleds provided!). We did get to Snow Summit for a day of skiing in the fresh powder, which was nice! Only a short 10 minute drive to the resort. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the place, as well as the attention to details with all the decor. In short, we couldn't have asked for a better experience, and our eyes have now been opened to how good it can be for a family to go VRBO!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

Great little cabin, slept 2 adults/2 kids very comfortably, very cozy. Our kids loved the animals statues in the backyard. Unfortunately we came a bit late in the season for any snow so next year we'll have to plan on earlier, but we would look forward to staying here again. Good communication from the owner. Thanks!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

While looking for a place that would offer both fun for our kids as well as quiet and comfort for us parents to celebrate a special occasion, we were excited and hopeful when we found the Lil Green Bear Cabin! The booking process was simple and easy and the owner was quick to respond and well prepared to answer any questions I could think of right away. Upon arrival, the place didn't disappoint. It's clean, warm, comfortable and functional both inside and out. Not only was it beautiful, it felt like home. We've stayed at places around the lake and have usually been disappointed by one thing or another, but not this time. We'll definitely be back and can't wait to see what the cabin has to offer during the beautiful summer months later this year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was my first trip to Big Bear so I was not sure what to expect. Our drive up from San Diego County was rough to say the least! We finally made it to the cabin at 9:30 pm after starting our adventure at 3 pm. I even called Randelle the owner around 9 pm for directions because we thought were lost. He was gracious enough to answer the phone and get us headed into the right direction. Once we pulled into the property it was a sigh of relief. The pictures do not do the cabin justice. It is more beautiful in person and more spacious. We came up as a small group and it never felt crowded. My only regret is that we did not have more time to spend there. We can't wait to return to the cabin. Thank you for a wonderful experience.Recommended for: Families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Casandra, when I got your call late that Friday night, I could sense your anxiety! Driving up the dark mountain with a storm brewing and not knowing exactly where you are going can be frightening for anyone! I am glad I was there to help and next time up it will be a breeze for you. Good job keeping yourself and the kids calm.

This cabin really is special, from the moment we pulled into the driveway we knew "this was going to be perfect"....such a relief. It has been our experience that things don't always look the way they appear in photos. Not the case with lil Green Bear. Like a few of the reviews said before us," it simply exceeded our expectations" from the beginning. We have come to Big Bear many times over the years and have rented many 2 bedroom cabins....and the Oscar goes to Lil Green Bear!! We just loved every inch of the place, so cute and so perfect! The cabin is beautifully decorated in rustic mountain decor, immaculately clean, so comfortable and cozy. We snuggled under a blanket by the fireplace and watched the snow fall all afternoon. The beds are great and on amazing log bed frames, so fun! The kitchen is really big with everything we needed. The front and back yards are incredible. I mean it is a whole property, not just some little cabin. We walked around and really enjoyed ourselves, we even played horseshoes before it started snowing. Randelle and Gabriela really have thought of everything. They were so attentive from the first time we spoke weeks before our trip We felt so "taken care of" and had a wonderful time. We are already planning a summer trip back to lil Green Bear. .Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the kind words Rita.......and "The Oscar"! My wife and I would like to thank the academy, the foreign press, the property manager, and last but not least, the gardeners for keeping lil Green Bear shining!! lol

My husband and I took our 2 kids (ages 3 and 5) up to the cabin for New Years weekend. The cabin is adorable - very well maintained, clean, homey and comfortable. We had the best time playing in the snow. Randelle gave me a few recommendations on where to sled down little neighborhood hills (no driving) and the kids loved it. The beds are comfortable, kitchen is appointed with everything you need to cook a family meal, firewood is stocked in the back for cozy fires inside. Kind of a little home away from home. The cabin is a short drive from the inner-tubing and ski slopes and also from the village. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Cynthia and we are glad the neighborhood "sled spots" worked for your children! See you next time.

This was one of our most memorable weeks in Big Bear. It was a daddy/daughters getaway week of skiing and bonding and fun. Mum was able to stay home and have a quiet week by herself. When my daughters returned after a week with their father, they were aglow with all the wonderful stories about the "Lil Green Bear Cabin". They loved it! It was meticulously clean...beautifully decorated...no dust and spiders (which is what they found in abundance at the last place we rented in Big Bear), it was cozy yet large enough to spread their artistic wings (they brought home some masterpieces). Also, for the first time, they didn't call home and cry for their mommy (they are 7 and 9). Randelle is the perfect host...kept in touch, made sure we had what was needed....and even installed a wifi! Needless to say, we will be back...with Mommy this time...and will visit often. Would I recommend this cabin to others....most certainly! After renting a LOT of cabins in Big Bear...we can safely say, this one tops our list!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: We are so glad Tom and the girls had fun and thank you so much for your kind words. We thank Tom for suggesting we get WiFi, I am sure all of our future guests (and us as well) will enjoy it during visits to the cabin.

About the owner: 'The Green's' of Lil' Green Bear Cabin! Randelle, Gabriela and Dakota James. Gabbi and I met in Los Angeles in November of 2005 and were married on Maui (Hana) on October 10th, 2010 (10/10/10). We have a 4 year old son named Dakota James who absolutely loves the cabin. Gabi is a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. I have been a union actor in LA since 1995 and have recently added Real Estate Broker to my resume. We love spending time together, traveling, Hawaii, Solvang (wine country) and escaping to the mountains every chance we get. We love our lil piece of the mountain and know you will too! May God Bless You, Randelle & Gabriela
Why the Owner Chose Big Bear City:
It has been a dream of my wife and I to own a log cabin up in the mountains of Southern California, so in 2010 we purchased Lil Green Bear cabin. We enjoyed it ourselves for the first couple years and just now (1/25/2012) have decided to put the cabin into the vacation rental market. We have made sure the cabin has all the conveniences of home. It is our goal to build a reputable business out of sharing our lil piece of the mountain with others. We are well aware that rental homes are built on referrals and we hope each and every guest is more than satisfied and will keep coming back for more. Enjoy your stay at Lil Green Bear Cabin!!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
What really sets Lil Green Bear Cabin apart is the front and back yard space! Professionally landscaped in the summer/spring allow the most beautiful flowers to blossom. The property sits back to allow an actual front yard for the kids to play, which is also fenced (log) to create boundaries. We have a 4 yr old and for him to be outside running around the front yard where we can watch him from the redwood adirondak chairs on the porch is priceless. The same goes for the backyard, a totally enclosed back yard 'play park'. People forget to think about the grounds of the property, who wants to stay inside all day, you come up the mountain for the fresh air and to feel the altitude. Parking is excellent at the cabin, something not always the case. A traditional black asphalt drive way allows you to park conveniently as opposed to some gravel pull up area! Motion sensor lights in the front and back make it safe, and simple for late night check ins. Try finding your way to a new address and foreign place in the pitch black! Dining room, again so many 2 bedroom cabins don't have one, just some bar stools or even worse TV trays for your dinner. LGB has a traditional custom made dining table which comfortably sits 6, it is made from reclaimed pine. The bedrooms are surprisingly large with actual sitting areas, classic mountain log bed frames. The inside was completely remodeled in 2010 with a wide open floorplan, chefs kitchen, and 12 inch (width) exposed logs running through the living room ceiling. A wonderful maltby fireplace. The unique benefits to this 1,000sf 2 bedroom cabin are endless. We simply encourage you to compare the photo's, inside and out, read ALL reviews, VRBO is a legitimate service. And the pictures tell it all.
