The scenery is breath taking. The wave action is spectacular. Park your car in the driveway and when you have made yourself at home, walk less than three blocks from the front door of Pleasure Point Cottage to Opal Cliff, one of the finest surfing spots on the West coast! The climate is mild; and, there is plenty of room to take your dog for a stroll, ride a bike, leave your footprints in the sand, or sit and observe, and enjoy the fresh ocean air. It's only a ten minute drive or bike ride to The Boardwalk Amusement Park. You will find our Pleasure Point Cottage provides the perfect home base for a wonderful pre-Christmas with your loved one. Your dog is welcome to come too!
The kitchen is equipped with all of the basic appliances, including a gas stove, and microwave, electric coffee pot, dishes and cookware.
A comfy queen size bed is prepared with fresh linens, ready for a good night's sleep on the main floor. An additional double size bed, in a sleeping loft above the kitchen, can be accessed by a stationary ladder. We also have sleeping mats and extra bedding available on the main floor if you prefer not to use the ladder.
Because of its size and configuration, the cottage is not appropriate for small children or for entertaining; but, it is perfect for individuals and couples at a very reasonable rate.
The bathroom, is in the center of the cottage; it has a shower; fresh towels and a hair dryer.
Utilities, Wi-Fi and cable TV, water, waste management are provided.
The cottage has its own fenced back yard with a large, private patio, barbeque and picnic table. The gardener comes by weekly to maintain the plant life. A shed in the back yard is a good spot for storing your surf board, bike or extra luggage.
The waste management and driveway are shared with two other cottages.
Santa Cruz has 29 miles of sand and surf that make Santa Cruz the home of surfing, a sport that connects you to the sea in a way that nothing else can. Cowell's Beach, Steamer Lane, (a favorite surfing spot), Twin Beach, and Castle Beach, are near the Santa Cruz Wharf.
Driving south of Pleasure Point, you will find Manresa Beach, La Selva, Capitola Beach, Seacliff Beach (sunken cement ship), Seascape Beach, and Sunset Beach (romance ).
Driving North of Pleasure Point, check out the Santa Cruz Harbor; discover Light House Field State Beach (good surfing and great place to walk dogs).
Natural Bridges State Beach, known for its tide-pooling and famous natural rock bridge, feels secluded but is easily accessible from the road. This state park is a Monarch Butterfly sanctuary for as many as 100,000 butterflies that are drawn to the mild ocean air and eucalyptus grove in the winter months.
Further north are: Wilder Ranch Beach (historic site), Davenport Beach (tiny town with a good bakery),and Four-mile Beach (known for beach parties), Scotts Creek Beach, (a favorite for beach combing ) Waddell Creek Beach, a (a good spot for wind-surfing) Bonny Dune Beach and Red-White-Blue (clothing is optional).
The county is also blessed with 14 state parks, including the popular Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, accessible by steam train from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. This is a trip through the towering redwoods and back. If you want more adventure: Hike, ride a zip line or bike through the beautiful redwood forests of the Santa Cruz mountains. The opportunities for fun in Santa Cruz are endless!

About the owner: After teaching for thirty-four years and maintaining cars, airplanes and properties for even longer, we have become 'snow birds'. Creating 'home' along the west coast has been a life long passion. This Pleasure Point Cottage is one of our favorites. It's a place we enjoy coming to for sheer relaxation: The mild climate, the fresh air, the pounding surf, fine food,long leisurely walks, and beautiful scenery.

We love the ambience, especially the fresh ocean air and natural beauty of Monterey Bay with its powerful surge of ocean waves on the beach. There is a wealth of outdoor activities here, and access to San Francisco peninsula is easy from the Santa Cruz area.
