This condo exceeded all our expectations. It's even prettier in person than in the photos. It is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly want or need, from kitchen supplies, washer and dryer, big HD tv, and ever so comfy beds .Everything is new, immaculate, and in excellent condition. We and another couple went and loved just sitting on the deck in their comfortable chaise longes, either reading, chatting, watching birds, or just enjoying the perfect temperatures and lovely view. In fact, every meal we ate there, we sat outside at the deck table! The entire complex is extremely well manicured and well-kept. This condo is perfect for a do-nothing-except-relax vacation, or a busy sight-seeing or fishing trip. We hired Captain Bert one day to fish for stripers, and caught our limit shortly. It was SO much fun, and he picked us up in his boat at the boat dock just below the condo. For your own fishing lures and lots of good "lake advice," go to Saunders on Skruggs Road. Most of our meals we just ate at the condo or fixed a picnic and went sightseeing to Blue Ridge Parkway, down to the big dam, to Roanoke,or off toward Lynchburg and Appomatox. Locally we enjoyed the inexpensive lunch buffet at Jonathan's one day and everything we ate was delicious. Sunday night we had dinner at Blackwater for $10 per entree. We had fresh catfish and loved it!! Jake's has $5 hamburgers on Tuesday evenings. The lake, the trees, the greenery, and the houses around the lake are all breathtaking. It's easy to get around the area to do whatever you want. We loved being there, hated to leave, and hope to go back! I would recommend it to any friend or relative. May was a great month to be there!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This is a very clean, beautifully decorated, and well equipped condo with wonderful views of the lake. The location is very quiet and private with no through traffic. It is a short drive into the town where there are several great places to eat and 2 large grocery stores. You can sight see at several nearby attractions or just relax on the deck facing the water. Everything that you need is there. There is a great visitors center in town that will provide answers to all of your questions. Also, two public golf courses that are inexpensive to play at. The owners are most friendly and helpful and provided us with lots of information prior to our arrival. Our favorite restaurants were Jake's Place and Bernard's Landing. Both are on the water. The Black Water Grill is right up the road and is very good. No Bologna has wonderful sandwiches and subs (take out). For sightseeing, there is Thomas Jefferson's summer home, Poplar Woods, near Lynchburg and the George Washington Carver National Monument in town. The Roanoke Farmer's market is fun to visit on Saturdays with lots of produce and good food in the Market Building. The Blue Ridge Parkway is nearby and is a beautiful drive. The lake is wonderful. Lots of places to take a boat and very clean. We will definitely go back whenever the opportunity arises.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.
