The Sherwin is a beautiful, securely monitored 20 story beachside building with an indoor climate controlled grand atrium with fountains, onsite management, poolside sunroom with eating area, refrigerator/ice maker and self-serve library. Other amenities include: billiard room, equipped exercise/fitness room with TV, heated spa, and dry saunas, outside grand pool with deck and chairs/umbrellas, charcoal BBQ area with picnic table, and plenty of outside parking for guests and one private, secured, covered parking spot for yourself.
Once you enter the building from the garage (where you can find carts to help with luggage/grocery transport) ; take one of the 4 high speed elevators to the 19 floor and enter this beautiful, 1826SqFt condo. Go out onto the 180 SqFt private balcony with chairs and tables and take in the fresh ocean breezes and the sound of rolling waves immediately below you. Look to the south and west to see more expansive ocean, city and intracoastal waterway(Halifax River) panoramas . Directly down see the large seasonally heated beach side pool with deck chairs and umbrellas. These views take on a different perspective at night so sip some wine, sit back and take in the sunsets, city lights and starry sky. If you are an early bird, then hot coffee is great as the sun rises!
Inside, ALL 3 bedrooms include: adjacent baths, KING BEDS, ceiling fans, HDTVs, U-verse cable DVRs, DVDs and alarm clocks. Each bedroom has a view of either the ocean, Halifax River or both. The master bedroom includes a walk-in closet, separate vanity/sink area, and private roman tub/sink /toilet area. The other large ocean front bedroom has a large walk-in closet, perfect for a spare "sleeping area" for children if one has an air mattress.
The open plan living/dining area is very comfortable and inviting. The overhead ceiling fan and central air-conditioning make this area and the entire condo very pleasant. If you tire of the panoramic ocean/city views, there is seating for 8 and a large screen TV to watch. This entertainment area is equipped with surround sound, U-verse HD cable TV, DVR, DVD , CD and radio. IF the more than 150 channels is not enough, you can watch Netflix or rent a DVD at nearby locations. Perhaps even turn off the TV and use the private high speed broadband WiFi to surf the web on your personal laptop and/or smart phone! Even better, go outside and surf for real for exercise and sunshine. LOL !! Once inside again, you can use the telephone FOR FREE calls anywhere to CANADA and the USA to tell your friends what a GREAT time you are having!
The dining area seats 6 at a glass table and 4 more on bar stools at the adjacent bar. This bar connects to the well appointed kitchen that has: an induction glass cooktop/convection range, convection microwave, refrigerator with ice maker/dispenser, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster oven, mixer, blender, and all necessary dishes, utensils and cookware! The mirrored walls even allow you to view the dining area and ocean as you prepare food at the sink area. For your health, all water to the ice maker/refrigerator and separate faucet for coffee and cooking water needs, is CULLIGAN reverse osmosis filtered and purified. No need for bottled water here!
Next to the kitchen is the laundry room which has a full size clothes washer and dryer, ironing board and iron, and soft water appliance which creates the soft water found throughout this condo. A closet next to the laundry room stores various items to use on the beach like chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc.
Just outside the condo and near the elevators is a trash chute to make trash disposal very easy!
WIth all of these wonderful amenities, it may difficult to find the time to actually go outside, get some sun, swim/surf in the life guard patrolled ocean, swim in the fresh water pool or just take a walk , drive or bike on the white sand beach. Go ahead, fly a kite, look for the occasional dolphin or sea turtle, go fishing, build a sand castle or just nap and read while on the beach. Go 3 miles North to the convention center for a concert, movie theaters, dining, shopping, water park experience and clubbing. Also in Daytona is the Daytona 500 nascar race in February, Coke Zero 400 auto race in July, Bike week in March and Biketoberfest in October.
IF bored with Daytona, there is always Orlando (about a 75 minute drive away) and all of its theme parks: Disney's Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks; Universal's Studios and Islands of Adventure; Sea World and its water park Aquatica, Holy Land Experience, Gatorland, and nearby Legoland!!
Even closer is a zoo and zip lining in Sanford, manatee viewing in Blue Springs, and many, many professional golf courses. Ponce Inlet and light house are about 6 miles away and has many boating, fishing, parasailing and dining experiences. Farther South is the Kennedy Space Center and North is historic St. Augustine. Air Boating (you will likely see alligators doing this) is available in the Orlando area as is hot air ballooning, theater, museums, concerts and many outlet and upscale malls! Don't forget the Tiffany glass museum and shopping/dining on Park Avenue in Winter Park near Orlando also!
To get to Daytona Beach Shores, Daytona International Airport is just a few miles away and Orlando International is an hour and a half drive. There is Amtrak train service within an hour or so of Daytona also. Have a car as you'll need one to truly experience all that is available in the Daytona area.
There is a MINIMUM 2 WEEK RENTAL REQUIREMENT for all condos in The Sherwin, but who can do all of the above activities in less time than that? Stay a month or more and spoil yourself and family....why not? Ask for special rates for extended stays of 75 days or more! You MUST come and visit; so put staying here as A MUST on your bucket list. About: I have been in many European, Central and South American countries, so have extensive travel experience. As a result, I have made this condo an extension of my traveling as a unique , luxurious, fun and relaxing getaway!
Why The Sherwin:
It is close to Orlando where I live full time and directly on the ocean. It is such a great getaway from all of the nearby Orlando Disney, Universal, and Sea World theme parks. A breath of ocean side air and a walk on the beach, glass of wine on the 19th floor balcony or a Nascar Race are all at my fingertips once I am at my "home -away-from-home "condo in the Sherwin!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Walking and/or biking on the beach to either of 2 piers, one 3 miles North (dining, movie theater, water park, etc available) and the other 3 miles South (restaurant located on the pier). I also enjoy the community exercise and workout facilities onsite and the adjacent hot tub/dry saunas. Public bus transportation is half a block away!
