Very clean, nicely appointed, superior in the details (furniture, bedding, decor, kitchen facilities and utensils, bathrooms, electronics, general quality of construction) to most rental properties. Location is nearly ski-in ski out - have to walk a small distance - perhaps 50 yards - at beginning and end of day to get from door to access to Super Bee lift/ end of day run. No big deal, but you do not ski to and from the doorway. Super Bee base area services and shuttle bus stop to other areas of Copper and also the Summit Stage are also a short walk from the unit. This ski in and ski out access would be less than desirable for a true beginner. True beginners will want to shuttle bus to one of the other base areas. Strong beginners and intermediate skiers will mostly prefer to ski areas not served by the Super Bee lift - they will ride it up Super Bee and ski a diagonal run to other parts of the mountain. Again, not a big deal, but if the entire group is beginners and intermediates, I would recommend staying at the Center Village area or possibly West Village, not East Village. Skiing back to the unit is very convenient from other parts of the mountain for all but the most basic beginner. Strong intermediates and advanced skiers will love the easy access to hard blue and black runs. The location is excellent for this level of skier. Very comfortable for 6 adults or 4 adults and up to 4 kids. Would start to get a little tight for 8 adults. Would not recommend for more than 8 people except for a night or two, unless you really like each other.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for the nice review!

I just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time at Elk Run. Your home is lovely. We so enjoyed the location as well. And the New Year's Eve fireworks were fabulous - watched them from both the living room and king bedroom suite. We had incredibly cold weather as you know, but that didn't stop the skiers. My son John went as early as 9AM on the coldest day just to check it out, but generally they were hitting the slopes around 1030AM. I walked 1 1/2 - 2hours each day mainly to and along the Vail path. Great walk. We loved your place. If we need a place of that size again, we would love to try to rent again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
