Terrific Family Spring vacation spot
Our family of four spent a wonderful week at this beautiful location in March 2012. The building is in a terrific location on the beach side of Collins Ave.- very close to the 41st Street Bridge for easy access to and from the Miami airport. The view from the apartment is exactly as it looks in the photos - spectacular. The balcony is gorgeous (albeit a bit windy.) The very large unit is furnished in a minimalist style, but all of the furniture is comfortable and more than adequate. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The bathrooms were large and completely updated. The only minor criticisms are that the window blinds could use some updating and when we were there, the dryer was not working, but the one right down the hall was fine. The large pool, jacuzzi and surroundings are well maintained and very attractive. The fitness room is also well equipped. The beachfront location is only a couple of blocks from the boardwalk and the luxury hotels making for delightful walking. In addition, there is easy bus access to South Beach and Lincoln Road (shopping and dining) as well as a Decobike station nearby. If you have a car, the underground parking spot is very convenient. The owners were very helpful in responding to all of our questions and concerns. All in all, we would highly recommend this rental for a wonderful vacation.

Gorgeous Views; Comfortable Stay
Gorgeous Views; Comfortable Stay
We stayed last November when my daughter arrived for a conference at the Fountainbleu which was within walking distance. I am just now thinking of this November and remembered I had not written a review! The owner met us in the lobby and welcomed us to the apartment which was so much nicer than a key drop. She gave us a tour of the apt and answered all of our questions about the area and was always available by phone if we needed anything, which we did not. The view was spectacular. Just as pictured. The long balcony afforded many different angles and I have some of the best sunrise photos I have ever taken. The sunsets reflected on the ocean and despite not seeing the sun dip into the ocean to the west, the colors were phenomenal. Then there were the moon rises.... Enough said... I spent many hours on the balcony! We ate all of our meals there as well; pre-conference breakfast and moonlit dinners. The apt was so comfortable, we ended up mostly eating-in, relaxing, and catching up rather than dining out. There are great restaurants and gourmet takeouts in the area as well. The apartment was impeccable. All amenities were well thought out and available which also solved a moment of panic one early morning when my daughter found she had forgotten her hair dryer... but fortunately there was one in the apt. The beds and furniture were very comfortable and as pictured. The surrounding grounds are beautiful. During the day, my husband and I strolled the well landscaped grounds, relaxed in the pool, snacked at the tiki hut, but most of the time we dipped in the ocean and strolled the beach. There was a cabana staff w chairs on the beach. We preferred walking as the entire area was so beautiful, but parking was easy in and easy out when we went to "provision" for our dinners. Tips: We googled/trip advisor the restaurants and gourmet take-outs to find ones of our interest close by.. There are also some nice casual outdoor restaurants right along the beach on the boardwalk as we walked south to the Fountainbleu and we would meet our daughter for lunch...Our favorite place was Mr. Pasta right up the avenue in North Miami. Gourmet homemade pasta dinners to take home and place in the oven.... Wonderful. We enjoyed a very relaxing week and thoroughly enjoyed this rental. If the occasion arises for us to be in the Miami Beach area I would not hesitate to book again and will do so.

This place is completely misrepresented and the woman who rents it lied repeatedly to us. The ONE positive is the large balcony view of the ocean. The unit pictures on VRBO look great and quite frankly even some furniture and master bath are nicely done; for the most part. I say “some” because there is nice furniture mixed in with random mis-matched pieces. However, the upkeep of the unit is horrendous. 1) There is water damage throughout. 2) There is peeling and chipped paint. 3) There are dirty registers, broken blinds, broken doors, broken drawers, and loose floor tiles. 4) There are no wash cloths in the entire place and only a couple hand towels in the kitchen (no bathroom hand towels). 5) All the kitchen cupboards laminate is peeling away. We were told “someone just left the oven on and melted it all.” 6) The washer and dryer didn’t work. We were told they “just broke and because of the way the ocean works (and that would be how?), 97% of the units don’t even have washer and dryers.” The card to use public washer and dryer was provided instead and we were told there was $15 on it – there was $5 and we had to use that to wash all the towels used to clean up the leaking doors (see below). 7) The towels were used to clean up the rain that poured in through the balcony doors. Granted, there was strong wind and rain but it literally poured in. 8) There were ants were everywhere. We were told they “just fumigated for ants but if we leave food out they will come back.” We didn’t leave any food out in the 30 minutes we were there after arriving and the ants were all over. We called to complain about the ants only and were told this time “It is a building issue. They are “sand ants that came in through the vents.” (There weren’t any by the vents incidentally.) After much haranguing we were able to get an exterminator sent out the next day. He fixed the problem immediately so obviously they hadn’t just been fumigated as we were told. 9) The air conditioning that was supposedly “just fixed because chillers (what are “chillers”?) on the roof went out in a hurricane (what hurricane?) was SO loud that we kept it off and were instead extremely warm most of the time. 10) The master bedroom bed was the most uncomfortable and cheap mattress I have ever encountered – I would expect something like that at a budget hotel maybe. The pillows were also budget style pillows and covered in plastic! (to be continued...issues will not all fit in one review)
