“Nottely Escape” is anything but your typical cabin. Just completed in 2011, our 5 Bedroom, 4 bath (plus 2 ½ baths) is prime lakefront property on Lake Nottely with views overlooking the lake and the highest mountains in Northern Georgia. Our home sits about half way between Blue Ridge and Blairsville in an area that is known for the wide variety of activities and ease of access.
Lake Nottely is one of the most beautiful and larger lakes in Georgia known for fishing and incredible boating with two thirds of the surrounding lakefront owned by the US Forrest service. It seems that very few people have heard about this TVA lake (and we want to keep it a secret :)). It is almost a private lake any time of the year!
While feeling incredibly peaceful and secluded, our home is incredibly easy to access – just 90 miles north of Atlanta and all highway driving. But with all the feelings of seclusion, you are only about 10 minutes to a super WalMart and very close to some of the most charming towns in the Southeast including Blue Ridge, Blairsville, Murphy, Young Harris. You will find endless opportunities from the lake to the mountains enjoying everything the Georgia mountain area has to offer.
While back at the home, enjoy the comfort of our modern surroundings and everything our home offers from our in-home entertainment to our hot tub overlooking the lake. Keep fit in our home gym with mountain views and relax by the fireplaces (we have 4) while enjoying our new 3D Satellite TV’s our even relax in the master Jacuzzi or steam shower in our “Suite 3”.
This home is perfect for family getaways and large enough to accommodate multiple families.
We built the dream home that one day will be our permanent home, but in the meantime, we hope that you and your guests will enjoy our home and everything the area has to offer as much as we do.

Exceptional house with lots of modern amenities. The kitchen area was amazing and quickly became a focal point for gathering, conversing, and interacting...while providing opportunity to socialize with those in the great room & breakfast nook. Spacious living areas allowed for relaxing family conversations, meals, and game times...while bedrooms provided for comfortable seclusion and great sleeping. Entertainment centers, electronic kids games, pool table, and other inside fun spots created an environment for casual connection points...while the beautifully landscaped grounds, well furnished patios, and clean hot tub created places of intimate conversations and times of quiet reflection. The view of the lake, especially during sunrise, stirred within us a sense of how beautiful the Georgia terrain truly is. Outdoor activities, including use of the pontoon boat, dock, and nearby hiking trails made sure that there was truly something for everyone. Beyond the property, there was plenty to see & do within a reasonable driving distance including shopping, sight-seeing, walking the streets of quaint towns, zip lining, etc. A beautiful house located in a beautiful location, I highly recommend this outstanding home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family stayed at this amazing home for my Mom's annual birthday trip to the mountains. We have rented several homes in the area over the years. This home is by far the best we have EVER stayed at. Everything was immaculate and so accomodating for a large group. The owners are wonderful to deal with. The kids loved the boat, fire pit in the backyard where we made smores one night and of course the ping pong/pool table downstairs. The home is new and from the cookware to the bedding, everything was top notch quality. We are already planning our next visit! We will not have to look for another rental ever again...this is "our family mountain house" for sure!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We spent a wonderful long weekend with extended family in this beautiful home. The owners are friendly and helpful, and make staying at the property easy. The home is amazing -- it absolutely lives up to the pictures on the website. The rooms are large and well-equipped, the finishes throughout the house are gorgeous, and the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. The view of the lake and mountains from the house cannot be beat. Even on rainy days, the game room, fireplaces, and big TVs make the house a great place to hang out with family. Our kids are already asking to go back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our family of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nottely Escape. The home was CLEAN and spacious and has beautiful sunrise views from the back deck. We enjoyed having access to the pontoon boat, and even though it was cool outside, we took the opportunity to visit the lake, swim, and enjoyed looking at the many beautiful homes in the surrounding area viewed from the shoreline. The owner was quick to respond and was helpful to any questions we had during our stay. We are hoping to be able to return here during the summer months to enjoy this property with friends. The Master bedroom fireplace wasn't functional, unfortunately, but it was not necessary for comfort, just an added plus for ambiance. :) Blairsville is a pretty little town. Rib Country in Blairsville was a delicious place to eat for lunch and/or dinner. Thank you, Kenneth, for accommodating our family.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for all your kind words! We'll have that master fireplace working as well as the other 3 fireplaces for you and everyone else next time. You have to try Mike's Seafood also next time you're back. Amazing seafood and unbelievable prices!

This was a mini reunion including 6 high school friends from many years ago! The house was perfect giving each of us amble space and very comfortable accomodations. We especially enjoyed the extra large kitchen, beautiful fireplace and magnificent view! The owner has thought of everything and was readily available to answer any questions! The kitchen was well stocked and very organized! We enjoyed a tour of the lake on the pontoon boat, shopping in Blue Ridge, a trip to Mercier Orchard's, hiking Duke's Creek Falls, lunch in Helen, Crane Creek Vineyard and a delightful dinner at Enrico's.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent a magical week at Nottely Escape in August 2012 and couldn't have been happier with our experience. The house is even nicer than the website photos suggest and is fully equipped for even a large group. In such a large home, everyone had their own space and there was plenty to do indoors and out. We enjoyed having a flattish lawn area, where our kids were able to play some games, and having the use of a pontoon boat was very handy and enjoyable. Our group included 4 adults, 4 children and an older teen and we all had a wonderful stay which included swimming, boating, fishing, toasting marshmallows, taking day trips and just relaxing. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful with all our arrangements and really made an effort to ensure we had everything we needed. We have been visiting Lake Nottely each summer for a few years, and this was the first time we stayed at Nottely Escape. We doubt it will be our last.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: Ken and Diane Schultz currently live in South Florida and have fallen in love with the Georgia Mountain area. With 3 children we built out dream home a few years early that we hope others will enjoy. We are both involved with large law firm automation which keeps both of us occupied and on the road much of the year.
Why the Owner Chose Blairsville:
After shopping throughout the Southeast for lakefront property for over 20 years, we fell in love with Lake Nottely and the location between Blairsville and Blue Ridge. The beauty and privacy of the lake (two thirds of the surrounding property is US-Forrest owned) and the ease of access (all highway driving to and from Atlanta), make this the ideal location. We found what we felt was the perfect lot and we built our dream home. We just hope that others will enjoy the house, the location and all the area has to offer as much as we do.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When looking at the lake and mountain view from our home you get the feeling of being isolated and being 'one' with nature. The stars at night are so bright you feel that you can reach out and touch them. Yet all of this is just a few miles off the main road and just about 9 miles to the super Wal-Mart. Truly the best of both worlds! An incredibly easy to access location and as beautiful and peaceful as any place you will ever visit.
