Upon stepping inside the front door of Inspiration Point, you will be greeted by a wall of windows and awe-inspiring view. Inspiration Point is often enjoyed as a delightful girl friends' getaway in a luxurious country home away from home. Or, many find it a perfect setting for an intimate couples retreat. Families with children come to enjoy the river from sun-up to sun-down. In the evenings you are still 'at the river' in luxury, peace and quiet. The large covered deck with hot tub, outdoor fireplace, gas and smoker grills offers an out-door experience for you and your family -- under the stars while having all the comforts of home in comfortable king-size beds.
Bring your boat or jet ski! If your family, or that special someone, loves boating, fishing or, skiing or just enjoys basking in the Texas sun, you'll be 5 minutes from Hamm Creek Park and boat launch on the Brazos River. Our property allows for easy boat parking, too.
Spend a couple nights or a week or two. If you allow yourself the luxury of time, Inspiration Point will melt away all traces of stress as you relish each moment gazing from high above, over hundreds of acres of green space, farm land and Texas mesas surrounding the Brazos River.
And, oh my, the opportunity for spectacular sunrises and sunsets from the spacious covered porch will be the only reason to consider 'time' while at Inspiration Point. You will set your clock by the beauty that only nature can provide.
Our guests enjoy a fully furnished kitchen with an array of staples. Bring your own food and drink preferences and make yourselves at home. Prepare your meals in the kitchen or at the gas or smoker grills out on the covered deck. Eat at the dining table situated in front of the wall-of-windows, or take your meals out onto the lovely deck for a luxurious country picnic-in-the-sky.
If you can bear to pull yourselves away from Inspiration Point to look for other things to do, there are a variety of small towns just a short country drive away. Glen Rose, Texas offers an abundance of antiquing, unique restaurants, Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, Dinosaur Valley, and more. If you prefer a lake to the river, Lake Whitney is also a short drive from Inspiration Point. Another excellent choice would be to visit the historic town square in Granbury, Texas. Should you long for live theatre and think you're too far away from big city life to find such entertainment, set your worries to rest. The Plaza Theatre in Cleburne is a no-traffic, 25-minute country drive north of Inspiration Point.

Our trip could not have been any better. The house is great and the view from the deck is just beautiful. The kids had a blast and the house has everything you could need. They even have a DVR so you can record games why you are out on the water. We could not have been more comfortable and the property manager made sure we had everything we needed. I could not give a place a higher recommendation. We can't wait to come back and will be back many more times.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We found paradise so close to home! The house was decorated beautifully and we were very comfortable. Our favorite spot was spending time on the deck. The view took my breath away every time I saw it. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful place with us. We are already planning another trip to come back this fall.Recommended for: Girls getaway.

We had the best time at Inspirational Point and would recommend this house to anyone. Not only is the view to die for, the house is so perfect! The deck, the hot tub, the views are just amazing, plus the house is stocked with everything you need. We were so comfortable and will return year after year as long as this house is available. My husband, kids (ages 15 months and 3.5), and I just returned from a lovely stay at Inspiration Point. We booked this based upon the pictures of the view, and as other reviewers have said, the pictures simply to not do this justice. We spent at least 90% of our waking time outside at the property -- either on the back porch, in the back yard, or wandering around in the wooded area exploring with our daughter. The chimnea is a great added touch, we had that burning most of the time as well as it was a bit cold and windy. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with all the utensils and gadgets we needed to cook all of our meals there. I loved that there was coffee there waiting for me! Our kids had such a wonderful time and did not want to leave! We were thankful for the time away from our day to day bustle to reconnect as a family. We had a great time relaxing over Spring Break at Inspiration Point with our two teenagers. The patio deck with its awesome view of the Brazos River and shoreline park became our family gathering spot where we enjoyed meals, dominoes, conversation, some sunbathing, devotionals, and an occasional nap. The house itself was wonderfully maintained and we did not need for anything during our stay. It was close enough to DFW for a day trip yet sufficiently removed that the city lights could not interfere with the welcomed darkness of the central Texas sky. The WiFi kept us connected to work (a little bit had to get done of course) and friends, and the kids loved walks in the neighborhood and in the woods accompanied by very friendly local dogs who helped fill the void of our pooches left back at home. Because we are very familiar with the area and have done a lot of the stuff to do in Glen Rose, Granbury, and Lake Whitney multiple times, we chose to lounge and relax for the most part, but if you haven't experienced the area attractions, we would certainly recommend them. Just when we didn't think Inspiration Point couldn't have gotten any more "inspiring", we were treated to a central Texas thunderstorm roaring through the river valley and announced by a breathtaking display of lightning across the night sky. We will be back...Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in this beautiful home for part of our Spring break with our daughter. We thought the pictures of the property were amazing, but when we arrived and walked out on the porch, the view was breathtaking. One can not describe how beautiful the scenery of this area is in person. The house was extremly clean and the kitchen was great!! I felt guilty for not really cooking a lot. :) We will definitely be back frequently with and without our daughter. We were familar with the area and bounced around Glen Rose. A plus for us was that we had no issue with wi-fi; which is great too. We love, love, love this place!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Relaxing. Inspiring. Peaceful. Girls weekend out here and we had such a wonderful time. The view and deck of this house is amazing! The house is fully stocked with all of the kitchen wares you need. Each bedroom has a king size bed. The view of the Brazos River is breathtaking and the house is only five minutes from a park and docks on the river. Upon our arrival at Inspiration Point, I was immediately in awe. This home is beautiful from the outside, but the minute we opened the front door I literally gasped out loud. The photos absolutely do not do justice to the spectacular view that welcomes you the moment you take a step inside. HUGE windows surround the backside of the home giving you a great view of the expansive deck overlooking the most beautiful view I have seen of this type. Truly spectacular. I brought my kids and they enjoyed riding their bikes under and around the house and playing football in the backyard with the view of the river behind them. I put the outdoor speakers on, grilled, drank wine, and breathed in every moment of this paradise. The stars at night are something to see, as well. We were lucky enough to get a great view of the comet during our stay...I don't think the kids will ever forget that. The house had everything we needed, from cooking utensils, to surround sound, to wi-fi, to board games. It was a getaway with my kids I know we will all remember forever. We are already talking about when we can get back there. We spent an afternoon hiking along the River and geocaching in the area. We visited town only to get grocery items, as this home really offered everything we needed. I could wake up to that view every day and enjoy every meal on the deck watching the sunset. I tried to take panoramic pictures of that view, because I am not sure anyone who hasn't seen it in person could truly appreciate it. Karen is so helpful if you do need anything, but I don't think you will have any reason to venture away from the serenity that is Inspiration Point. We will be back. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay with an amazing view and stargazing galore...look no further (unless it's the week I want to return...ha!).Did you find this review helpful? Our visit to Inspiration Point was wonderful. We rent via VRBO many times a year and this was by far one of our top 5 rentals in the US. The house was in great condition. The pictures do not give you the full effect. The deck is so peaceful and serene. We loved sitting here in the evenings. The kitchen provided almost every possible accessory one might need when preparing a delicious meal. Inspiration Point will probably become an annual destination for us each year. The owner was extremely pleasant to work with and always provided responses to my excessive list of questions immediately.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

FIsherman's Paradise is situated just West of Rio Vista, TX about 30 minutes north of Lake Whitney.
With a long career in general contracting of residential and commercial properties, we knew that this lovely river house known as Inspiration Point in Fisherman's Paradise, to be one of the most unique and beautiful places on the Brazos River.

Fisherman's Paradise is a little-known area in Johnson County, TX, just West of the small town of Rio Vista and about 30 minutes north of Lake Whitney. Our vacation home offers a gorgeous, country getaway or intimate retreat destination convenient to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
Our property sits high on a hill overlooking the Brazos River and provides convenient access to the new Hamm Creek boat launch. In addition to boating and fishing activities offered by the river, we most enjoy the spectacular view and peacefulness surrounding us, especially from our porch. The property is lovely year round and is accented on some winter mornings (in addition to the beautiful sunrise) by a ribbon of fog running the curvature of the river with soft clouds hovering just above the valley creating a surreal experience that makes every sip of our morning coffee even more delicious.
