After four days in hotels in or around Yosemite and Sequoia, this flat was a much needed oasis. It is as lovely as the pictures suggest--cozy and spacious. Everything is new and beautifully decorated. Michael was available to answer questions, the bus stop was one block away which gave us access to everything we wanted to see. We did the wharf, Alcatraz, off the grid food trucks in North Beach, Coit Tower, Union Square, Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific Heights houses, Umami Burger(epic burger!), and the marina to watch kite boarders, ships, and seals. The neighborhood is quaint and safe with some treasures like a great meat and fish market, a nice grocery store, a good bakery, Noah's bagels, and wine shops. Our kids stopped in their tracks one day in front of a hotel and said "Mom and Dad, thanks for setting up the apartment instead of a hotel, we really appreciate it" Great visit!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the great review you guys! So glad you made it to Off The Grid, too. Definitely a "To Do" while here in San Francisco.

Our family of 4 stayed 3 nights at the cow hollow vacation rental as part of a 3 week holiday in the US and with the exception of the Peninsula Beverly Hills (which is an amazing full service hotel!) this property was the best. Owners: Michael was great to deal with. Responsive and helpful, yet respectful in terms of giving you your own space. (They live downstairs). Location: Fantastic location if you want to feel like a local. We ran in the Presidio and The Marina every day and walked down to Chestnut Street for supplies, shopping and great restaurants (Blue Barn Gourmet was our favourite). We didn't hire a car this trip and didn't feel like we needed one. We walked to Pier 33 for our Alcatraz trip. However it is 26 blocks so this is not the place to stay if you like hotels in the tourist precinct. Property: The attention to detail, cleanliness and quality in this apartment was exceptional. I believe the owners wife has the decorating talent and she has done an amazing job. I agree with another reviewer who described it as a Restoration Hardware catalogue. The complimentary welcome pack was a lovely touch, gorgeous hand wash and hand cream (I purchased some from Williams Sonoma to bring home), great hair dryer (always a sign of quality accommodation I think..). The property has 2 bedrooms and a sleep out with a single bed which was perfect for a family of 4. Quality linens, comfy beds and complimentary wifi. The welcome pack included recommended restaurants (including ones that deliver) which is great after a long flight. Overall a seamless 3 day stay and we would highly recommend this apartment to others.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful week in San Francisco, staying at the Cow Hollow home! The house was beautiful, just as shown in the photos. The location was awesome - within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf, the Embarcadaro, Coit Tower (longer walk though certainly walk-able), and Pacific Heights. Local restaurants as well as corner markets were only a couple of blocks away, which was convenient as well. Our entire family highly recommends this beaurtiful home for your next trip to San Francisco!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Had a wonderful time in SF. The kids enjoyed running around seeing the sites; GG Bridge, Coit Tower, and the Redwoods. Your flat was ideal for location, and as a place to return to once everyone was exhausted. Great place to relax, recuperate, and refuel. You even had Netflix so my kids could get their Curious George fix in everyday. Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house is nice, cozy, and very clean. The bedroom is comfortable like we are staying in our own home. We were lucky to stay in this house for our vacation. We slept very well, and had nice walks around the beautiful neighborhood in the morning. We will return!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We enjoyed our stay in your home. It is well appointed and the goodie basket and fresh flowers were nice touches. The location is ideal for us and very convenient for our daily walking tours of S.F.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed here for 4 nights and we're happy that we prefered here instead of a hotel. There are 2 things I want to warn about. First, the garage is pretty small so you better have a small car; second, stairs are pretty high and it's not convenient for old people.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for the review, and for helping point out some points about the flat. It is on the top floor, and should be avoided by anyone with problems walking or negotiating stairs. We've also found that Ford Escapes fit quite well in the garage, or even a standard sized mini van. Parking is a commodity here in San Francisco, and as a result most garages are pretty tight. That said, we've had plenty of mid sized cars and SUVs in there without a hitch. If you have any questions about car sizes, you can always email us and ask what will work best. We are happy to help! Thanks Neslihan :)

My husband and I, with our daughter and nanny, stayed in this property for a week in September and the experience was absolutely fantastic: the house is even better than the pictures, the location is great and the landlords incredibly nice....There is nothing negative we can say or think of! Thank you Michael and wife and we wish you all the best!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: You are most welcome! We enjoyed having you, and getting to meet your beautiful daughter ;) Glad you had a comfortable stay, and you're welcome back anytime. Cheers

It took us a while to write a review for this beautiful property as we didn't want to give away this secret gem! Definitely the place to stay in San Francisco. This property has everything you need to enjoy your stay in San Francisco wether for a couple of days or even years! My wife and I stayed here for a week and didn't want to leave. We fell in love with the location and this beautifully decorated flat. If we ever move to San Francisco, we would probably make the owners an offer to buy it. Every detail was thought of. We felt like home and enjoyed lounging around after sightseeing or business trips we did during the day. The location is perfect, 5-10 min walk from all of the great restaurants in the Marina district and Palace of Fine arts. This is the best location if you want to feel like a San Francisco native living in an upscale neighbourhood. You will not regret booking this place. We didn't :)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Thanks Claudia! It was a pleasure meeting you and your sister, and we would love it if you came back to stay with us again. Hope you both enjoyed Napa :) ¡Nos vemos pronto!
