Two families of four spent 3 nights at Villa de los Suenos. It was all that we could have wished for and more... perfect hospitality, super fun swimming pool and slide, beautiful ocean front property and easy access to Montanita. Marsha and Shel were perfect hosts whom always provided good advice about local traveling, great suggestions of restaurants (and even connected us with a local woman down the street who delivered dinner for 8 to us), and generally just made our whole stay very comfortable. Dos familias de cuatro pasamos 3 noches en el Villa de los Sueños. Fue todo lo que podríamos haber deseado y más ... hospitalidad perfecta, super divertida piscina y tobogán, hermosa propiedad frente al mar y fácil acceso a Montañita. Marsha y Shel fueron los anfitriones perfectos quien siempre nos dio buenos consejos sobre locales de viaje, un gran sugerencias de restaurantes (y hasta nos conectó con una mujer de la localidad que entregó la cena para 8 a nosotros), y por lo general ellos hicieron nuestra viaje muy cómoda.

This place is the best!

I stayed here for a week and could not have enjoyed any vacation more. The owners, who are transplanted Americans, live on site and make you feel like family. The rooms are great - just one year old. The beach that the balcony looks out onto is a great walking beach. The pool is very nice, as you can see by the pictures. The facilities in the area are limited, but it is easy to take a bus to areas with restaurants and small shops. There is also a small restaurant located within a few minutes walk, that will also deliver dinner to your room (Betty's). This is a great place to stay.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car.

The Perfect Place

My husband and I came to Villa de Los Suenos looking for a beach getaway as we traveled in Ecuador and Peru. We found, however, that a week wasn't enough, and after leaving to go to Peru we returned for 17 more days! Villa de Los Suenos and it's owners Marsha and Shell ...and their dog Chocolate made our stay feel more like visiting dear friends. The accomodations are lovely, rooms nicely appointed, bright and comfortable with oversized baths. We loved using the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Their goal seems to be to make their guests feel not only welcome but to cater to what ever each guest might need to feel comfortable, welcome and relaxed. Breakfast on the main deck helped all of us to get to know each other, and yet, should quiet and personal downtime be what you are looking for that too, is yours. The beach is beautiful, long walks are a must. So if you are thinking of a reasonable beach stay in Ecuador...this should be a First Choice. An amazing find!

Villa De Los Suenos was an incredibly wonderful experience. We stayed for a week over New Years Eve 2012. Shel and Marsha have really created an unbelievably beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The location on the beach at La Entrada is perfect, close to all the activities in and around Montanita around 10 min drive, but far enough to enjoy quiet and relaxing down time. The property is pristine, clean, and well kept. The rooms are U.S. standard first class, granite, dual sinks, large walk in showers, hot water, walk in closet, safe, large living/sleep area, comfy beds, both queen and full, and kitchenettes with a microwave, fridge, sink, and drinking water. The rooms open to a large spacious balcony over looking the beautiful south Pacific Ocean, with views that are the best in the area. The balconies have hammocks and tables and chairs, great place to eat or nap. The pool area is the best I have seen in Ecuador. A great water slide, attached hot tub, and an infinity pool with an area where you can put your chaise lounge and sun in the water, great idea. The view from the pool area is right on top of the ocean. The pool side cabana was great, nice brick BBQ, that we used several times, a fridge for beer and drinks, a sink, and plenty of chairs and tables. Also the sandy private sunning area was a great idea. Easy access to the beach. We went with two teens, a 12 year old and a 9 year old, and they had a blast. Swimming, walking on the beach, sliding, they thought it was the best vacation they have had in a long time. Kids loved Chocolate, and are still talking about him, what a great companion. The staff were awesome, pleasant, helpful, and always there with a smile and kind word. The breakfast, was wonderful, you can't beat Benito's Bakery and every morning we had fresh juice, coffee, and breads, pastries, and eggs to die for, and of course the view from the porch was again just beautiful. And of course Shel and Marsha are the perfect hosts, never smothering, and always there when you needed something and friendly as anyone we have met here. We have lived in Ecuador for 5 years, and this is a real jewel on the beach in Santa Elena Province, the absolute perfect getaway for couples or families. I would recommend this House of Dreams to anyone who wants to experience the best of the Ecuadorian beach culture but do it in real comfort and style, for a very great price. We will be back. Thanks for helping us make great family memories.

Fantastic B & B Near Montanita

My husband and I just stayed at this beautiful facility at a friend’s recommendation. It was even more than we expected. It is built, owned and operated by charming hosts Shell and Marsha from the USA. The property has only 4 suites and they are amazing, built with attention to details and luxurious even by US standards. The breakfasts were delicious, served up by their helper Cati, who is sweet and always happy. The home sits right on the beach, for lovely walks and their ever friendly chocolate lab, Choco, always went with us. The terraces are lovely and we saw whales right from our balcony. Also, the property is right on the bus route for trips into Montanita, about 10 minutes, for lunch, dinner, nightlife and shopping, but far enough away from the bustling town to relax and unwind in the stunning pool and hot tub. The photos do not do it justice, this place is incredible and we will certainly go back time and time again. Thanks Shell and Marsha for making our stay in your home so wonderful.

My wife and I got married on 07/07/2012 at the Villa de los Suenos. I could not have asked for a nicer place. This property is clean and extremely well maintained. The owners of the property were helpful and gracious. They went over and above everything to make our Wedding and stay memorable. I would recommend this place to anyone that would want to have the best experience possible. You leave there feeling relaxed and refreshed. This is a very family oriented place, my little boy Sammy loved playing with Chocolate the owners dog. Thank you Marsha ,Shell and your entire staff for everything you did for us. We will definitely be back.

Amazing Stay At The Beach!

This was a ridiculously good find on vrbo! We had wanted to get out to the coast but didn't want to stay somewhere loud and overly touristy. I found Villa de los Suenos on vrbo and was sold after looking at the pictures. We initially booked for three nights, but after arriving added 3 more to our trip. The place itself is amazing. It is right on the beach, but also has it's own private beach, and a beautifully tiled infinity pool with a slide and a shallow area that is good for either relaxing in your chair and keeping cool or for kids to play in. We stayed in was the cute VW Bus room and it was great, clean and stocked with lots of water and fluffy towels. We brought our two small children (ages 2 and 3) and it was perfect for them, but it also would have been perfect as a getaway without kids. Perhaps even more amazing than the location and Villa itself were the hosts. Marsha and Shell (the owners) treated us as if we were old friends, and really spoiled us. Little touches, like putting up a gate for our kids on the balcony or making pancakes really made the stay extra special. They always had good suggestions of where to eat in Montanita, where to find what we needed, and always made sure we (and especially the kids) were comfortable and had everything we could possibly want. The other staff was also very friendly with us and our kids really enjoyed talking to and waving at them. Oh! And the breakfast! So delicious! If you are headed to the coast and want somewhere that is quiet, relaxing, and perfect, this is the place.

I must say my wife and I have spend a couple of weekends at these suites and we inmediately loved the place. The ocean view is expectacular from any of the rooms or the top balcony. The sound of the waves is very relaxing, just sit back in one of the hammocks for a nice relaxing afternoon nap. The rooms are very comfy and clean. The owners are very friendly and very helpful on your requests. I think we found our getaway spot close to home.

Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a truly incredible place! We stayed on third floor and had an amazing view in all directions. Our room had a very comfortable king size bed with air conditioning - however we never needed the AC since we had a constant cool breeze off of the ocean. The amenities of the property make for a completely relaxing experience - walking on the beach, watching the waves, swimming in the infinity pool or relaxing in the hot tub. The waterfall down the pool mural is icing on the cake! Every night we watched the brillant sunsets with a cool glass of wine. Marsha and Shell are the perfect hosts. They are relaxed and fun to be around. They are also very accommodating and knowledgeable. And...I can't forget to mention Chocolate - their funny, playful Lab - what a goofy loveable creature. And Cati, Marsha's and Shell's sweet and always smiling housekeeper and cook. We stayed for 8 days and I do not hesitate to recommend Villa de Los Suenos for anyone who wants to get away from the rat race and relax or explore the beautiful area.

Great place to relax with amazing sunsets!

We had a great visit to this beautiful bed and breakfast, just a few minutes outside of Montanita, Ecuador. The kids LOVED the infinity pool and waterslide. We watched the sunset into the ocean every night from our huge, private balcony or while soaking in the hot tub. The owners are very knowledgable about local attractions and how to get around town. There is local bakery in La Entrada, within walking distance from the property that I visited daily!!! There are a variety of local excursions available, including zip-lining and surfing lessons. Shopping and nightlife available in Montanita which is a 5-10 minute cab ride away. The location is safe, and the property is well maintained. The suites are a well designed and are very clean & comfortable w/ air conditioning available for cooling off. We are already planning another trip and plan to bring several friends along.

Villa de los Suenos is like your own "personal" resort! It has something for everyone! The infiniti pool is outstanding, it even has a water slide. The private beach was a nice place to be to sit and relax in the sun or you could relax under the cabana in the shade. The Grand Terrace has outstanding views of the ocean and Montanita point. (I wish I could have been there when the whales were moving!) Shell and Marsha (the owners) were extremely knowledgeable of the area and can direct you to just about any activity that you may want to do, from parasailing to shopping. The rooms were clean and air conditioned, and the beds were comfortable. The comfortable beds were nice after my long days in the sun. The pool/hot tub was a great place to watch some amazing sunsets. I would recommend Villa de los Suenos to anyone looking for a memorable vacation in the area.

My family had a wonderful time vacationing at Villa de Los Suenos. I spent almost every evening in the pool and large jacuzzi. There is so much to do around that part of the country;there is para-sailing, zip lines, the night life in Montanita, 4 wheeling on the beach, boogy-boarding, and surfing! The Villa is also a great place to stay if you want to hang around Montanita -- but want to be able to return to someplace quieter. I wouldn't want to stay in town because the music doesn't stop until the sun rises.

I stayed for several nights with my boyfriend, and had the most amazing time! The furnishings are luxurious and comfortable. The small touches- the lovely mural on the wall behind our bed, the friendliness and knowledgeability of the hosts, and the fantastic slide right off of the patio straight into the swimming pool- were noticed and greatly appreciated. The breakfasts were delicious, the pool and hot tub were wonderful, and the free wireless internet was a definite plus. The views from each window, and even the pool, were also marvelous. I highly encourage anyone looking to visit the area to stay here!

I bought property in a town several miles away from Vill Los Suenos. In the transition phase I was lucky enough to spend time at the beautiful house the owners have built. The oceanside endless pool and jacuzzi, room accomadations with perfect ac, massage showers, new beds, privacy, 5 star by Ecuadorian standards, would be a memorable vacation for everyone. The sunset from the house is the wallpaper for my computer!

The home of Shed and Marsha is beautiful. The location is perfect since it is only 10 minutes away from Montañita and 25 minutes aways from Machalilla National Park and its beaches (i.e. Los Frailes) which is probably the best beaches in Ecuador where you can take nature walks, bird sighting and even whale watching. At night Montañita is a surfing haven, alive with music and nightlife activities and when you come back to Villa de los Sueños you can rest because there is no noise from parties or cars. The photos don't do justice to the well kept, very bright and clean rooms, pool and other facilities. Shed and Marsha treat you as if you were at home, serving water with lemon scent and offering advice on where to eat near by. Also, breakfast is plentiful with warm bread, butter, coffee, fruit and juice. I would definitely recommend a visit to Villa de los Sueños for the best stay if you want to visit Montañita and/or Machalilla.

Located in La Entrada, about 20 minute drive from Montanita, these newly built suites were clean, quiet, and come equipped with a large balcony for viewing the fantastic sunsets over the ocean. As well, there is a pool, beach access, and a covered deck area. Hosts Marsha and Shell were welcoming and friendly, and happy to share their knowledge of the area. If you are looking for restaurants and clubs outside your door, this is not the place for you. However, we were happy to head into Montanita for good food and some excitement, and then to escape the party and return to a nice tranquil home base.

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
