This magical spot is a breathtaking escape for individuals of any age. The incredibly spacious, private guest home has all necessary modern amenities, a fantastic kitchen and grill, huge decks, spectacular views, and warm light in pristine condition. It is a stones throw from the water where you can enjoy the ships passing silently at sunset, take a quick dip, be surrounded by wildlife, and enjoy your coffee, a glass of wine or a good book. The owners have created a sanctuary that they kindly enjoy sharing with others - they are attentive if you need them, but are incredibly respectful of privacy. It was a priceless gift to have met the owners and found this slice of heaven. We hope you enjoy as much as we have - we will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our week on Wellesley was perfect, everything I imagined it could be. Our delightful hosts shared their island paradise while offering just enough travel tips and insight to positively enjoy exploring all the river life has to offer. We enjoyed kayaking as the sun came up, fishing off the bank, swimming in the crystal clear water followed by a day of touring the area and finally a camp fire near the water's edge. The property is private yet close enough to drive to local attractions if you are so inclined. But, the place is so peaceful, you may just choose to porch sit overlooking the river. I highly recommend this and look forward to our next trip. The "cottage" is everthing it says and more. The place is prettier than even the pictures can capture. Owner response: Thank you for your kind words. It was wonderful seeing you all... and we hope our paths will cross often in the future. Linda and Marty

Everything about our stay was first class and above & beyond our expectations. Our hosts Marty & Linda are true ambassadors of the 1000 Islands and convey the culture and tradition that lends to the area's reputation of friendly and interesting people. Our only regret was that our stay was too short and we did not have more time to interact with our gracious hosts. Regarding the property, the pictures on the site are very accurate of the the well appointed cottage with all the amenities necessary for a comfortable vacation. In fact, there were more amenities than we could use! The grounds are immaculate and provided diverse views of the River, Densmore Bay, or the quiet pond with lily pads and docks. Saw some interesting small wildlife, enjoyed swimming in the River, great fires at the fire pit, rode bikes, paddled kayaks, fished from Pikes Point, and that was all without leaving the property! Great docking on the property for our boat rental too. There was plenty to keep the five of us, which included 2 teenagers and their grandmother, happy and entertained for the week. We have been visiting the 1000 Islands region for over 20 years and this was truly among the finest properties we have stayed at. We highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Dear Kevin and Family: Thank you for such a WOW review! It was a joy to meet you all and we are so glad you enjoyed Seven Isles...and with perfect weather. Hope you can come back. Linda and Marty PS: We have caught three squirels and they are happily living on the other side of the Thousand Island bridge!

Elderberry Cottage is well appointed and supplied. The hosts are wonderful, gracious, and friendly and take great pride in the property. They live next door and are more than willing to assist you in any way possible. The cottage is nicely laid out and is set up for the guests' relaxation and enjoyment with great views of the River and Densmore Bay. While sitting in the cottage or in the yard, you can see the freighters, yachts, boats, and personal watercraft that pass along the American Narrows and Millionaires Row. Over the past decade or more, we have stayed at various cottages along the River. This is our favorite!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The "Cottage" is much better than the photos can convey, for sure... The place is stocked with everything you need from towels and linens to dishes and spices in the cupboard. The grounds are super and the owners take great pride and joy in making sure their guests have everything they need for an enjoyable stay... Thanks again to Linda & Marty we look forward to seeing you both again soon... Tom & Linda Schultz & Family (Grand Island, NY)Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
