  We needed a romantic getaway and "Perfect Timing" was exactly right for the two of us. Atmosphere: Loved watching and listening to the birds as they swooped up and down the canal behind the house. We relaxed on the screen porch, deck, and dock while soaking in the quiet atmosphere. Games & Sports: We played pool in the living room every night (or pretended to) and badminton in the side yard while drinking mojitos. The kayaks and easy access to the canal and bay were the reasons we picked this beach house over others. It gave us a nice option in addition to the beach. Beach Access: We used the free beach access just past the light house and in Frisco -- both about 5 miles from the house. Food: From childhood many years ago, we HAD to have pizza from the Gingerbread House and apple uglies from the Orange Blossom bakery. Nothing tastes better than childhood memories - delicious! For the adult side, we had great fun and excellent seafood with the locals in Pop's. Recommendation: Yes, I would recommend "Good Timing" to others. Everything was exactly as described by the other reviewers and owner. The owner responded quickly, and it was a pleasure to work with him. In fact, we made the reservation within days of wanting to rent (but that's luck in early May). He made it easy.

  We came down for Spring Break and had a great time. The house was very comfortable and the remodel was done nicely. The photos are accurate. The pool table provided hours of fun at night and the XBox was a hit with the teens. All of us enjoyed the Wipeout game!!! Peter was great to deal with and was always just a phone call away. The kayaks are the best thing about the rental. Endless canals and Pamlico Sound to explore and the cost offset by having them onsite is incredible. The front porch would be great to sit on in the Summer while watching kids kayak or fish. The ceiling fans and bedroom furniture are dated, but hey you can't beat the price, location or main living area of Good Timing. We will be back as soon as we can find the time. Stay here....you will be pleasantly surprised.

  We had a wonderful stay. The house is just as described. It's clean and well maintained. The location on the canal and the kayaks added a peaceful dimension to our vacation. We really appreciated little touches like the light in the outside shower and a locked space under the house where we could keep our bikes. And we got hours of enjoyment out of the pool table. Thank you for all your courtesies and for sharing your beautiful home.

  Our family loved this perfect little home everything you need to feel right at home.Close drive to beach and food stores.We will be renting this home again next year if available,thanks for sharing your home with us and the phone call to let us know the cabin was ready early was much appreciated

  Very clean, well equipped, nice pool table, very quiet, the perfect place to enjoy your vacation. Close to the beaches, Ocracoke ferry and attractions. Nice rides with canoes.

  We enjoyed our stay at "Good Timing" very much. The house was just as it was described and was very comfortable. We had two couples staying and the size of the house was perfect. We especially enjoyed the pool table when we came home at night and the kayaks early in the morning. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place on Hatteras Island !

  Our family recently returned from a one-week stay. We're still reminiscing about the fabulous time we had. We are a family of four - 2 young boys - and my mother-in-law. The moment our key opened the door, we knew we were in for a great, relaxing time. Peter & Dawn did an amazing job with their home and were great to deal with. The photos are absolutely accurate - the cozy layout, adorable furnishings & beachy colors draw you in. The home is clean & comfortable - not your typical rental. The layout is great, one floor living, and the outdoor shower is key for avoiding bringing sand in the home. Not having to drag our kayaks there was super convenient, too. Phone numbers are posted so you can contact the owners should the need arise. We were very impressed with the amenities - we were blessed with stellar weather all week so the majority of our time was spent crabbing off the dock, kayaking around the canal & sound (incl to the nearby small beach where you & children can wade out a good distance !), chilling on the screened in porch taking in the scenery & enjoying the sunsets. There is a gaming system & pool table which could be Plan B for inclement weather, but we were too busy enjoying the outdoors ! The location is great - short drive to the Ocracoke ferry which we always enjoy doing while on Hatteras. The Frisco neighborhood (super quiet & friendly people) was perfect for evening walks with the boys who safely road their scooters without worrying about traffic. Nearby beaches are beautiful - we opted for one with easy beach access by foot, clean bathrooms and outdoor showers. It was an overall wonderful vacation experience & we wouldn't hesitate recommending Good Timing -- in fact, we already have over & over to family and friends !

  Good Timing lives up to its name. This was our first family vacation and it was great. The location on the water is great. The boat dock is really convenient. We took our boat, and found a sandy beach area right down from the house where we could anchor up and let the kids play in the water, or go out in the sound and fish. The house was very clean, couldn't ask for better. It was a great place to take our first family vacation, and hope to visit again!!!

  This house felt like a home. The week we were there, unfortunately, was a cloudy, rainy Spring week. We spend a lot of time at the house and had everything we needed. Cooking was a breeze as the kitchen had everything we needed. There was a nice charcoal grill. My daughter enjoyed the kayaks that were available for use. ( Nice game system and pool table that we did not use.) It felt like a new house inside. The photos on the rental site were extremely accurate and even better in person! The owner is very available to you so if you need anything he is easily reached with his and his wife's phone number's posted on the fridge. As far as nearby activities and restaurants...this is Frisco! You should plan a trip here for a getaway from it all! We did take the ferry to Okracoke one day and enjoyed that. The Hatteras and Bodie Island Lighthouses for both close by. We loved Lee Robinson's General Store at the end of the island before the ferry. All in all it was a relaxing time and a really nice home.

  My family pretty much wanted to get away from everything. The hustle and bustle and what not. And must say this was it. The beach accesses are very close to the house and every chance we took we went. And for the most part we were the only ones on the beach... Every now and then we would see a few people. But no crowds. Also the house is really close to the Ocracoke ferry so we caught the ferry 3 times during the week and got on the beaches there during low tide and found some really nice shells! The house itself if awesome! Felt like I was in a brand new house! Also talked to one of the neighbors that lives there and he was extremely nice! Dunno what else to say really then my whole experience was great. Talked to the owners a few times, first time was to let me know that the house was ready to be in earlier then 4 so if I wanted I could check in early. Then another call just to check in and make sure that everything with the house was okay, an if I had any questions or concerns. Will have to go back again! Just had an awesome time
